Motorola Droid Razr M :: Notification And Ringtone Volume Linking?
Oct 28, 2012
This is the only phone that i've had that does not allow the option to link the notification and ringtone volume together. it's really inconvenient to use the volume rocker to adjust the volume of the ringtone, only to have to go deep in to settings to adjust the notitication volume as well.At least on my nexus 7, there's a mini setting when you hit the volume rocker that allows you to adjust the playback and notification volumes from your current screen. i hope that gets added to the JB build of this phone, if we cant link.
In GB we used to be able to link our ring tone and notification volume. Doing that allowed me to use Smart Actions to lower the volume of my phone when at work, or make it go completely silent when at school. After upgrading to ICS I no longer have the ability to link the two volumes (see attached photo). How can I link the two volumes again and continue using Smart Actions. (note I want to try and not use third party apps to do something that was an included feature, ex: using another profile management app to disable notification sounds.)
I have a Droid Turbo, and on both KitKat and Lollipop you have to change volume settings separately. I'm always turning down my volume, just to get a full blast text alert that startles me right out of my seat. On previous phones (including other Motorola droids) all notification volume settings were linked and changed as one. Why is that not a thing anymore? How does that not just make the most sense? I know there are apps out there that could do this, but I don't want to have to download another app to simplify something that should be simple in the first place.
My phone received the Jelly Bean update which is awesome and it runs very smoothly. The only issue I am having is when listening to music in Pandora or Songza and i get a notification, the volume is approximately half until the song changes or i exit the app and restart the app. Also, if the phone is on silent or vibrate this does not happen.
I put a bunch of music on the Ext. SD card and I've got about 400MB left on that card. I'm getting a "Low on Volume Space" notification over and over again. How can I stop this notification? If there is no way to stop the notification (very annoying, the space is there to be used after all), does anyone know what triggers the notification. I could clear music off until it is no longer sending the notification,
I recently had to remove my MicroSD card from my phone and started running it just using internal storage. I cleared out a lot of apps and media to compensate for the lack of SD storage but since then I keep getting a "Low on Volume Storage" message.I have 2.92GB available space for application storage and 0.90GB in the internal storage - so there is a decent amount still available to the system and yet I keep getting a "low on volume storage" notification. It is infuriating because I already know what the storage situation is, but every time I dismiss the notification it reappears in a few minutes. Does any know if it is possible to just stop this notification from appearing without having to delete more things from my device?
I have a new Droid Turbo. Among the ringtone selections, the loudest I can find isn't sufficient for me to hear. Volume is at max. Where can I go to make it even louder? Is there an app I can download with louder ringtones.
I have just converted to a Droid RAZR from Blackberry and want to add an mp3 I have downloaded from the web as my ringtone. I have a copy of the ringtone on my computer and have installed Mobisynapse which describes itself as "iTunes for Android. It is a desktop manager for Android." I installed it as part of installing mOffice to sync my Outlook info with my phone which it sort of does (doesn't sync Notes properly) but I don't see any option to install a ringtone. How do I do that install of the ringtone?
I accidentally checked the "always" box before choosing Droid Storage Data when selecting a ringtone and now I'm trying to figure out how to undo that choice. I used to have the option of selecting Handsent SMS, which would allow me to pick songs from my music library as ringtones and alarms. how I can get this option back?
I'm having trouble installing a custum ringtone. I've downloaded it as an MP3 to the My Music folder and also copied it to a new folder that I've called "music" on my external memory card. So I'm able to play the tune from both locations but I can't find any menu option that allows me to set it as the ringtone. When I hold down the song in My Music a menu comes up that gives a number of options starting with Play and ending with Copy to DLNA server and Delete. The Mortorla phone tech person said that between the last two on his phone was a Set as ringtone option but it does not exist on mine. He offered to reset my phone to the original factory settings. But I would loose too much stuff so that is not an option.how I get to set it as a my new ringtone?
I'm really enjoying my spiffy new Raxr MAXX HD. Coming from the first LTE phone I'm especially enjoying not carrying spare batteries and popping the back off my phone every few hours. I'm in the process of personalizing my phone and I can't figure out how to assign a song as a ringtone.
I'm sure at one time when I use the setting, phone ringtone (left most screen, top switch) and set it to off, there was a timer that popped up asking me to specify a time. I can't seem to get this back. The app I had been using to set volume became too buggy with the last update and it isn't supported well. I've been trying different apps so it may have been an app that caused the timer to display.
This was possible in Blackberry and I miss it in Droid 4. ... WITHOUT some app... 1. Creating distinct phone RINGTONE for contact GROUP2. Create distinact NOTIFICATION alert sound for receipt of SMS TEXT from contact/group.3. Create distinct EMAIL alert for receipts of any asynchronous MESSAGE (TEXT or EMAIL) from cotact or group
I have a weird issue. I power cycled the phone and went to unlock it and as soon as I unlocked it the ringtone started to play. I can get the phone to do this on every power cycle.
The changes made to the email account mechanism is causing me grief. Who thought it would be a good idea to remove the functionality to assign each email account their own notification ringtone? I use this as a tool to know when an email is from my personal account or from my work account. Now I have to pick the phone every time to find out which it was. That was dumb of Motorola. It need to be returned to it's previous level of functionality. I speaking of the corporate email accounts specifically.
I got my Razr Maxx replaced under Asurion warranty, got sent a "Certified Like New" from Verizon, and I can't hear people through the earpiece. It's way quieter than my other phone, even at the loudest volume, and then it crackles at that volume. Can I fix this myself or do I need to take it to Verizon and demand that they give me a good phone without having to pay their crap replacement fee?
Is it just me or with the upgrade to JB has Moto taken the colume controls on this phone and downgraded the performance of the speaker?
Having mild hearing loss I loved the fact that with this phone my ringtones and notification sounds could wake up the dead. For normal situations I would have to slide the volume controls to the mid point of the slide bar, but when I was in a noisy environment I could slide the controls all the way to the right and be sure I wouldn't miss a call. Now after the upgrade it seems like even with the slider controls all the way to the right the volume is no where nearly as loud as it used to be.
Is this just me or did Moto make a change with the update? If so is there anyway to get back to the pehnenomal speaker performance we had under ICS?
Is there a setting that would allow the volume to be adjusted while in a call without taking the phone away from my face. the volume key should not lock out when the screen turns off during a call.
Has anyone found a setting for the volume of the shutter sound that occurs when you take a screenshot of the RAZR MAXX on ICS? It seems much louder than any other sound effect on the phone.
This makes the volume rocker and frame look "rough", when I think that's just the camera and flash accentuating ribbed nature of the volume rocker Anyway, does anybody else's look like this around the volume rocker? I can actually push it back in just a tad on the top side of the rocker, but not on the bottom.
If this is the way it is, well, so be it. If it's not, and nobody else has this issue, I'll be exchanging it later. I've done nothing to this phone but hold it in my hand and set it on my bedside table. The VZW rep put it in their black hard-shell case, which is very tight and hard to get off, but other than that, this has been babied during the whopping 16 hours I've had it.
Recently, when I unplug my headphones, the media volume level indicator briefly comes up and shows that the media volume has been set to zero. I can't imagine why this is happening.
I've noticed this happen several times before, but if I'm connecting/disconnecting to headphone jack or bluetooth, all media volumes will go silent (resuming a podcast, music, etc), and turning up/down the volume has no affect. The only fix I've found is to pause everything, go to the homescreen, turn the phone volume (which appears automatically) down, then go back into the app and press play. However, sometimes I can't turn the phone volume down on the homescreen because only the media volume appears, even after I close the media apps (even from the recent menu from holding the Home button). Even going into Menu > System Settings > Sound > Volumes and adjusting everything there made no difference. I had to make a phone call, hang up, then go back to the homescreen, turn the phone volume all the way to mute/vibrate, then turn it back up and go back into my media app and the media sound would be restored. It's really frustrating and considering how often I use media apps and how often this happens, I'm considering ditching the Razr Maxx and getting a non-Motorola phone.
I have found that the earpiece volume after the JB update, when you pick up a call is very loud and can't be lowered unless you rock the volume buttons during the call. Even if you leave the volume low during the call, on any subsequent calls the volume reverts back to being very lound and you have to do it all over again. I didn't have this issue on ICS. I did notice it on the leaked OTA before the official OTA also. When I reverted back to ICS after the leak and before the official OTA, the issue fixed itself.
