View 3 RepliesThe changes made to the email account mechanism is causing me grief. Who thought it would be a good idea to remove the functionality to assign each email account their own notification ringtone? I use this as a tool to know when an email is from my personal account or from my work account. Now I have to pick the phone every time to find out which it was. That was dumb of Motorola. It need to be returned to it's previous level of functionality. I speaking of the corporate email accounts specifically.

Not for email, text message, nothing. Tried a reset and no led even before re-installing 3rd party apps. None of the led apps worked either.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is the only phone that i've had that does not allow the option to link the notification and ringtone volume together. it's really inconvenient to use the volume rocker to adjust the volume of the ringtone, only to have to go deep in to settings to adjust the notitication volume as well.At least on my nexus 7, there's a mini setting when you hit the volume rocker that allows you to adjust the playback and notification volumes from your current screen. i hope that gets added to the JB build of this phone, if we cant link.

Doing that allowed me to use Smart Actions to lower the volume of my phone when at work, or make it go completely silent when at school. After upgrading to ICS I no longer have the ability to link the two volumes (see attached photo). How can I link the two volumes again and continue using Smart Actions. (note I want to try and not use third party apps to do something that was an included feature, ex: using another profile management app to disable notification sounds.)
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Turbo, and on both KitKat and Lollipop you have to change volume settings separately. I'm always turning down my volume, just to get a full blast text alert that startles me right out of my seat. On previous phones (including other Motorola droids) all notification volume settings were linked and changed as one. Why is that not a thing anymore? How does that not just make the most sense? I know there are apps out there that could do this, but I don't want to have to download another app to simplify something that should be simple in the first place.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I started getting text message notifications when someone leaves me a voicemail. I'm already subscribed to VVM and had never previously recieved text messages when a VM is left.
My Handcent application settings, default message application is set to disable.
The text body reads, "You have x unheard Visual Voice Mail messages. Please select the Visual VM icon to reinstall. Free Message from Verizon Wireless."
OK, so I select the VVM icon and the menu appears showing me the messages new and old. But VVM has no option to control text notifications within the settings. Nor to "reinstall."
I am having trouble figuring out how to disabel the text message notification screen that pops up when the Droid 3 is on the car dock. I find this screen to be unnecessary and annoying. It is particularly inconvenient while using navigation. I believe I have been through all the menus, but maybe I'm missing something.
View 5 Replies View RelatedNow that I've had this happen a couple of times and I know I wasn't hallucinating, I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed it.Sometimes, when I get a new text message, I pull down the notification bar, click the notification, and it takes me to a blank text thread, addressed to the person who sent me the message, just as if I was sending a brand new text in a brand new thread to that person. If I back out of it and go back to text messaging, their name is still showing in bold blue, indicating there is a new message, and I can click it and everything is there as expected.

Is it possible to do this without installing a 3rd party app? I swear I had this setup before on the DROID 2 (had to do a factory reset to try to resolve an issue), but can't figure it out. My friend has the same issue on the DROID 3 and can't figure it out. I also already know that Gmail can set up different ones if you filter through that, but that's not what I want.

If I have a text message conversation open and receive a new message from the same contact, the notification icon pops up, I'm properly notified, but then it won't clear without backing out of the conversation to the higher level text messaging section. I have had success a few times with tapping on the new message to clear the notification icon, but not all the time. This was not an issue I noticed with the previous version of Android.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have rebooted, contacted Verizon numerous times, been routed to a Level II technician, but nothing seems to solve the only intermittent problem of getting no notification sound when I get an email. The problem started out getting no ringtone sound when I got a call. Verizon finally fixed that by enabling something on advanced calling in their network. That took numerous trips to the Verizon store. Then, two days ago, I went back to Verizon with my wife to look at the iphone6 for her. I casually mentioned the notification problem to the salesperson, who said the problem was probably due to my downloaded sounds, and that I should stick to the sounds on the phone. I promptly went home and removed the downloaded sounds, but the problem persists. Because the problem is intermittent, no one has been able to fix it.

I've figured out most of the goop. The last problem I have is that I do get the green notification light for text messages but it's gone for e-mails. Does anyone know how to get the light back?
Motorola, you did a poor job with this release. Support personnel don't know the product and you are way understaffed to handle all the calls.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince I did the current update I'm no longer getting my Yahoo (which is my primary account) email notifications (I was before the update). If I go in to check email I have messages. My Comcast accounts works fine. Background data is enabled.
Under "email settings" I have "Data Push" selected ( I even tried it with it unselected). I have fetch schedule "every 15 minutes" checked. I did notice that when I go into "Folder Sync" All the folders say "manual". I've also tried several battery pulls. If I go and open the email apps it does download the emails.
