Aug 4, 2012my BB Curve 9300 has password enable in the options and it has a little lock on it. I cant disable it despite performing several security wipes. how to disable the password.

Oct 4, 2010I just got the Curve 9300. I can't seem to sync the contacts and calendar with my Mac's BB Desktop Manager. It shows the message, "... turn off wireless synchronization by opening Address Book on the device... etc." There isn't such an option available.

Mar 7, 2010I'm a new and proud owner of a BlackBerry Curve 8900.I bought this used from a guy and I didn't realize this before til now. This phone is "permanently" password protected, meaning that I need to insert my password every single time I unlock my phone. I tried going to "Password" and disabling this option but there is a red lock beside the option and it won't let me choose Disable, only Enable. I went to TMobile and asked them but they said it's programed into the phone and told me to go back to the guy that sold me this.
I don't keep in contact with the guy who sold me this anymore.Is there ANY WAY to disable this?

Sep 16, 2012About three weeks ago I upgraded my BB from Curve 9300 to 9380. I copied settings using desktop software and transferred over to my new device. All apps reinstalled fine and I set five email accounts including 3 (business emails) provided through a hosting account with Media Temple. These all work fine and still do.My old phone was to be given to a colleague, so I reset the device and put all setting back to default and followed the process indicated for a new SIM. When we tried to set up email on the old device (9300) it wouldn't work giving an error message stating unable to verify account contact email provider. I am the administrator of the email accounts so I know that the settings are correct., the network provider reset all settings for email etc and BIS account details etc are all correct. The email account works through outlook and can be accessed via webmail and we've tried password change and even deleted and set a new email account up but still the same problem - error message stating user or password incorrect.
I hoped that this was a problem with the settings on the old device (9300) which we could pin down and resolve however it seems not to be as now when I try to set up a new email account on my new device (9380) I get the same problem!User password error - when the details entered are 100% correct and on a device which I successfully set up the same type of email account!

Oct 17, 2011Testing the new BB 9300 I placed my sim card into the phone. To my surprise my call history appeared on my new phone...to my even bigger surprise when I got home it connected to my home WIFI automatically even though it is Password protected. How this sort of information is getting transferred, I don't think it is my sim and I am slightly concerned it is getting stored on the BES server.

But I'd rather not have it lock at all.The help file indicated that PASSWORD could be disabled, but that does not work for me. I'm looking at Options > Security Options > General Setting.There's a password ENABLED field, but I can't change it, there is a little teeny tiny red lock icon next to the field.
I changed the security timeout to 30, and that helps.
