BB Curve :: Caller ID Does Not Display Name When 9300 Password Locked
Mar 20, 2011
I recently upgraded to the Curve 9300 through my company and password locked. When locked the caller id only displays the phone number not the callers name. I had this problem with the 8900 but easily corrected the problem, However, the 9300 does not have the same options.
Im new to the blackberry and have looked around other forums & technical centre and havn't found any way to solve my issues although i did find something about caller id problems.
1) When people send me long SMS i.e over 160 characters long i keep recieving them in separate SMS and it becomes very confusing.i have owned over 7 different phones in the past and this has never been a problem. Is there any way to solve this?
2) Quite often when someone calls me, i only seem to be able to see the callers number and not the Name, this is frustating as i have no idea who is ringing.
I have a 9300, and the scroll has completely locked. I have removed the battery countless times, cleaned the screen and click the scroll five times. It will not scroll in any direction unless on the search screen or the internet. (Which can only be reached through the search) I spilled tea on it but I don't think that is the cause. I recently when to use a site with adobe flash player but it wouldn't register
My son bought me a new koodo blackberry curve 9300 from best buy but we are on telus server in bc. He was given a web site by best buy - cellunlock to get an unlock key code for $7.99 i think. They sent us about 9 pages of instructions. The curve 9300 wasnt listed specifically so I tried the first number on the list (turns out I should have tried the 4th one). Anyway we had 10 tries. After the first entry try, nothing happened. I turned off the phone and restarted it to input another. No dice. All of a sudden I had zero tries left after trying just one entry
I am having a problem with message on lock screen not showing. I already went into options -> users -> and filled in everything but it never shows up when I lock my device. What should I do? How do I get it to display text on lock, like my old 8520 curve?
I have a Curve 8310 and I entered the incorrect password too many time and now it has wiped my phone. I have tried updating the software but that didn't work, what do I do?
I have been told I cannot save my data if I miss at my 10th attempt. I didn't backup:-( I said there has got to be a way, for God's sake Barack Obama has a Blackberry!!! If I have every possible piece of identifying information? Will I lose all my photos? They are more valuable than anything to me. No, I don't remember if they were saved to phone or media card.My guess is to my phone
my BB Curve 9300 has password enable in the options and it has a little lock on it. I cant disable it despite performing several security wipes. how to disable the password.
8330 Boostberry OS 5. Never setup a password for password keeper.. Looked at it once. Now it wants a non existing password to get in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bit of a noob to blackberry but not a noob to technology.
I have a BB 8530 on MetroPCS (CDMA) network. I saw thier was some updates for BB protect and a bunch of other apps so i updated them. After the reboot, it asked me for my keypad lock pass and upon entering it, it would not accept it. I know that what i am entering is correct as i entered it prior to the reboot.
i have tried diffrent variations of it with CAPs and symbols corresponding to the keys i KNOW are my pass but still no use. I am on 9/10.
I have logged in to my BB Protect online and tried to change the pass from thier but it keeps saying the current password is wrong which is impossible. Is there some deafult password it reverted to that i can try. I have tried everything.
My daughters phone has been locked due to incorrectly putting in the password too many times. Is there a way to reset this so that we can use the phione again? It is a Curve 8520
My daughter has tried to activate BBM7 on her phone - this did not work as she needed to input her password (which she has forgotten) or her prompt question (which she has also forgotten) How can we regain access to her BBM account ?
Plugged in my phone to the computer for the first time. I've fallen at the first hurdle. Device password is requested. I've tried the Blackberry ID User Name, my password, and the pin no. None of these work. What is meant by the device password?
I misplaced my blackberry (bb) and locked it via bb protect online. When I found my bb I entered the password(pw) but it kept saying incorrect pw. Now I'm trying to reset the pw on bb protect but it keeps saying the current pw I've entered is incorrect.
I recently installed my desktop software for Blackberry curve 9300 and haven't been able to use it as I do not know the password? I have tried all my usuals and it didn't work. I have also tried the password I use to unlock my phone but this didn't work either. Does anyone know how I retrieve or reset the password?
My Phone (Curve 9300) suddenly went in to some trouble. The alphabet "b" just does not work and my password to log in to the phone has the alphabet "b".
I have a Curve 9300 when I connect the phone to the pc a window pop up asking me for a password, I assume is the same as I used for locking the phone but it is not. So I have to type the password 10 times before it restart my device and erase everything. Also the phone is searching for network all the time.
you have N97 locked(screen off) with that side lock or get locked after leaving it unused for a few minutes.Someone calls and it rings but doesn't tell you who is calling until you have to unlock it using side lock or sliding it up and chances are that you will miss a call Why is it that the 'call' doesn't "activate" the homescreen just like it's on N95? Is this a bug or am I alone on this?
About three weeks ago I upgraded my BB from Curve 9300 to 9380. I copied settings using desktop software and transferred over to my new device. All apps reinstalled fine and I set five email accounts including 3 (business emails) provided through a hosting account with Media Temple. These all work fine and still do.My old phone was to be given to a colleague, so I reset the device and put all setting back to default and followed the process indicated for a new SIM. When we tried to set up email on the old device (9300) it wouldn't work giving an error message stating unable to verify account contact email provider. I am the administrator of the email accounts so I know that the settings are correct., the network provider reset all settings for email etc and BIS account details etc are all correct. The email account works through outlook and can be accessed via webmail and we've tried password change and even deleted and set a new email account up but still the same problem - error message stating user or password incorrect.
I hoped that this was a problem with the settings on the old device (9300) which we could pin down and resolve however it seems not to be as now when I try to set up a new email account on my new device (9380) I get the same problem!User password error - when the details entered are 100% correct and on a device which I successfully set up the same type of email account!
Testing the new BB 9300 I placed my sim card into the phone. To my surprise my call history appeared on my new phone...to my even bigger surprise when I got home it connected to my home WIFI automatically even though it is Password protected. How this sort of information is getting transferred, I don't think it is my sim and I am slightly concerned it is getting stored on the BES server.
Well I have just been given my 1st BB from work this morning. I'm trying to set it up to get my work emails but when I try it is coming up with "Invalid email address or Password".
I forgot my blackberry security password and I had key in wrong password five time, I was asked to key in blackberry number and I got only one more chance to get it right otherwise all the information installed on the device will be wipe out. What is blackberry number? and how to get one because I don't want to loss all the data in these phone.
When I turn on my BB, the numeric keypad is locked (123 sign on upper right activated).I am therefore unable to enter my password which contains letters. How can I unlock the numeric keypad, as all the other keys are inactive?
In linking to new Playbook, messed up and had to 'start again' with blackberry phone. Messed up also with my old password and after 10 tries it froze. I have gone through password reset process but still blocking me with the message: Your account has been locked. Please try again after the lockout period has expired or call customer service.Any suggestions other than a call to technical desk. I've been researching forums and seems to be the case that lock is indefinite. Incidentally, I didn't see the option after 10 tries to enter word 'blackberry' but it was late at night and frustration had kicked in. Possibly I missed that.
