I have been getting my emails pushed to my blackberry Tour fine for months. This morning I changed my password on my gmail account and now it will not let me receive messages on my blackberry. I deleted the account through the email settings and tried to re add it and it keeps saying username or password is invalid. It seems very odd to me.

My blackberry is setup with microsoft exchange email. All was working well until I upgraded to the Blackberry Tour.
Here is my problem:
Sometimes, but not everytime, when I try to REPLY to an email I receive an error message which says that the email contains an invalid email address. I have scrolled through all the email addresses contained in the reply and can confirm that they are in fact valid email addresses.
Things I have tried:
Battery pull
Renaming my own contact name
Eliminating custom email "aliases"
just trying to set up gmail on my phone but it keeps saying invalid username or password. They are correct and i can sign in on any other device except my phone.

I know for a fact that the username and password are both correct because I can still access my gmail account through my computer. I have deleted the account and have tried reading the account but it will not let me.

Only one of my 3 gmail accounts on my phone is acting up from time to time, saying incorrect username and/or password. I know this is false because I simply wait and the problem goes away. Only this time, it's been 24 hours now and it still thinks its the wrong username and/or password. In the meantime, I'm able to use that username and password on my laptop with no problems. I've tried deleting the account on my phone and adding it again, but it still thinks incorrect username and/or password.

When I try to open my Gmail on my iPhone 4, I get an error message that says Cannot Get Mail - The user name or password for "My Gmail" is incorrect. But they aren't. I have deleted the account and added it back again numerous times. This is what the support person I talked to told me to do. Sometimes I can get into my email and then all of a sudden I can't.

The problem is, randomly the phone ringtone, text ringtones, or any ringtones change to 1 ringtone that is like 3 beeps. And if you try to change the ringtoneback to normal, it just says "invalid ringtone, choose another one" or something like that, anyways it doesn't work at all until you hard reset the phone. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix?
I have had my bbry tour for 3 years and never had this problem. I am getting a message that I need to validate my email on my blackberry, but every time I try it says not a valid username password and can't validate. I have my name & password written down so I know they are correct, but the system doesn't recognize it.

View 2 Replies View Relatedso this may have been asked before but i cannot seem to find any threads on it..probably just searching the wrong terms.so im using gmail on my tour..when doing so and replying to an email, my address is always displayed as opposed to the my name. i.e. John.Doe@gmail.com instead of John Doe in the replies. Also, the header from the email i am responding to is displayed as well. I don't see these on the tour itself, however when i am looking at the email in gmail (on a computer)
View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyone out there with OS 5.0 tried the Gmail Mobile App yet (not Gmail IMAP w/BIS)? The problem the Tour has always had is the notifications for Gmail don't work or if they work when the Gmail Mobile App is first installed, they get lost as soon as the phone is rebooted. Then even uninstalling Gmail and reinstalling it doesn't fix it. If it's working on your Tour with OS 5.0, after a phone restart, do you still have Gmail Messages as a choice under "Profile | Set Ring Tones/Alerts | Other? What typically happens is the "Gmail Messages" doesn't display unter "Other" so you can't change email notifications, LED settings, nothing regarding the Gmail Mobile App.(don't recommend I use Gmail IMAP w/BIS..at least not unless it's October already and RIM has added all the Gmail features that are still missing

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having a huge issues with my e-mail/internet and text messaging capabilities with my tour plus the phone constantly shuts off. I am on my 3rd tour (2nd replacement phone). This issue started about 4-6 weeks ago w/my first tour, it was replaced then the second one started randomly shutting off, then I am now on tour #3 and am having major issues:I'm not able to get a signal to receive phone calls, text messages or e-mails and today while I was at work (same spot for the last 6 months -- haven't moved and never had an internet/signal problem before) when I got out of work I had 18 e-mails, 16 text messages, 2 missed calls and my battery was practically drained and dying (which by the way under mobile connections and mobile network if I put it on 1VEX it can never find a signal or is always searching for a signal whereas if I put it as Global it can find a signal).I got this phone because I'm an avid overseas traveler and I need a phone w/me when I leave however this is causing a lot of frustration and annoyance.I've done everything to all devices:hard pull, complete hard drive wipe, updated service books, turned mobile networks on and off, made sure I had the most up-to-date software available NOTHING works.any suggestions?

Imap is enabled on Gmail. I don't want to use the gmail app, just want to check my gmail every once in awhile.
I saw last week on Crackberry that some users were seeing their read messages sync properly from gmail onto their BB. Have any Verizon Tour users seen this? Since last week messages I send from the web gmail interface appear on my BB but when I view a message online it doesn't show as read on my BB. Has anyone with Verizon and the Tour gotten this to work properly?
View 4 Replies View Relatedif i delete an email on my handheld it does not delete from my actual gmail account. in fact, it doesnt even say that its read. well, on the computer next to inbox it doesnt say any are new, but when i look at the inbox, i still have the emails and it shows them bolded like they were not read at all. when i delete on my bb, nothing happens to gmail. i tried deleting my gmail address from my phone, resending service books, battery pulls but none of that has resolved. i made sure that handheld wins was set to on under wireless reconciliation and in the VZW BIS control/email settings i have it set to sync deleted emails.
i tried fooling around with the contact sync a few days ago but stopped it becaues it wasnt working (this is the only new thing ive done with my bb in the last week or so). i also downoaded the new socialbeat app from verizon/iskoot. but other than that nothing is new in the last few days. i am running driphters 6.3 on top of whatever OS its supp to be installed on (.484 i think?). dont just jump to that as the problem because i have had it for almost a month and have not had a problem until now (that i tried that stupid contact sync bullsht).
So today I had a unrecoverable 552 error and decided to just upgrade Sprint's 5.0 OS. Everything seems to be working fine, except now I'm getting the problem that the enhanced g-mail plugin isn't working correctly. I have it installed, but it doesn't seem to add any options for stars, labels, etc. It's listed in the applications page in the options, so I'm not sure what to do. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it countless times and did a battery pull after each. Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am new to this device and I had Verizon transfer all 300 of my contacts from my old phone to the tour. When I ran email set up with my gmail account i didn't notice that i checked the contacts box and it deleted all 300 of the contacts I had changed over and left only 20 or so (who i imagine are from my gmail account). I deleted the gmail account from my phone, is there a way to delete the gmail list from my contact list? I go to options and it's the only contact list in my phone and it doesn't give me an option to delete. I even tried re-adding the gmail account to my phone and unchecking the contact list button--to no avail.

About a week ago the sync to my twitter account stopped working stating there was a username password problem. I double checked and I have the correct username and password. I changed the password online but that didn;t I've tried deleting the account from "my accounts" and it keeps telling me that the username / password are incorrect? Any workaround?

One of the gmail accounts, the emails only come in every 30-40 min in a batch; the other account seems to be working fine. Any ideas what could cause this problem. View 5 Replies View RelatedStrange issue with my BlackBerry contacts. Nearly all of my phone numbers disappeared and I panicked immediately. I came to realize that this happened when I added a new Gmail account to my Blackberry. Not sure if the new Gmail Sync had anything to do with it, but I found that all of my BlackBerry contacts are NOW in Contacts when I log into Gmail on the web. And the contacts that I do have in my phone happen to be all email addresses (mostly no numbers, but some) that were previously all saved in my web Gmail. It's like they just switched places.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had a message on the general message screen telling me that my gmail password needed to be validated. i never had a problem receiving gmail to my general messages before this. I rarely use the gmail app on the phone because it tends to use more battery than the general message space. Here is what I did:
1. I went to email settings and tried to put in the password. I got a message telling me that the password was not valid even though I know it is the correct password. So I tried again.
2. I turned my phone off and then back on and tried again - same message appeared. I read further and it said that if the problem persisted I needed to contact gmail.
3. I next did a battery pull. The same message appeared again when I tried again - and again!
4. I deleted my gmail account from the phone, turned the phone off, turned it back on and then tried to reenter the gmail account and password. It told me that that gmail account was already in the phone - but the password still would not validate.
5. I changed my gmail password on my computer, tried to input the new password into the account on the phone and that didn't work either!
I have a password on my phone, locks up every two minutes somehow, my friend got INTO my phone, how was this possible? i am using the OE Password thing.
