I have had my bbry tour for 3 years and never had this problem. I am getting a message that I need to validate my email on my blackberry, but every time I try it says not a valid username password and can't validate. I have my name & password written down so I know they are correct, but the system doesn't recognize it.
View 3 RepliesI had a message on the general message screen telling me that my gmail password needed to be validated. i never had a problem receiving gmail to my general messages before this. I rarely use the gmail app on the phone because it tends to use more battery than the general message space. Here is what I did:
1. I went to email settings and tried to put in the password. I got a message telling me that the password was not valid even though I know it is the correct password. So I tried again.
2. I turned my phone off and then back on and tried again - same message appeared. I read further and it said that if the problem persisted I needed to contact gmail.
3. I next did a battery pull. The same message appeared again when I tried again - and again!
4. I deleted my gmail account from the phone, turned the phone off, turned it back on and then tried to reenter the gmail account and password. It told me that that gmail account was already in the phone - but the password still would not validate.
5. I changed my gmail password on my computer, tried to input the new password into the account on the phone and that didn't work either!
I've typed in the correct username and password but it still says im unable to log in. Now I can't change my email settings and update the apps. Don't know what to do...

When I click on my gmail account it comes up saying it does not recognize my username or my password and yet it has my correct password and username. I have deleted the account and created it again to get the same messages on my iphone.

I am having trouble updating the apps on my I=-phone because nothing I enter is recognised. I enter the e-mail address originally used and the correct password but it says it doesn't recognise this. I have also tried to re-set the password but it says it is sending me an e-mail to do this but it never comes. I have set up a new user ID and password but don't know how to transfer that so it updates my I-phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAny ideas before I do a hard reset?As of last night, my Blackberry isn't fully unlocking after I type my password. I type the correct password and hit enter, the password entry section turns dark (or it will stay on the "Enter Password screen" and appear to freeze). (If I type the wrong password it simply prompts me again, so i know I am typing the correct password). This is after multiple battery pulls.Sometimes after typing the correct password, I can hold down the blackberry button and it will bring up the box that lets me switch to BBM, the browser, the Home Screen, etc and I can "switch" to that program, but there is a sort of frozen shadow of the Enter Password box over what ever app I switch to and I can't use the trackball or keyboard in those apps.This "frozen box' is preventing me from using any application on my BB!I CAN receive calls. Barely. I can only make calls if I pull battery and DON'T unlock the phone and go to the Place Call option.I upgraded to OS 5 over a week ago and things were fine until last night. I can hear my BB when it receives messages (the tones work) or txt etc but can't read anything due to the lock up!The only suspect is Google Talk which I installed two days ago and seemed to be hogging resources and draining the battery, however the phone worked fine for about a day with it on. Perhaps Google Talk is launching at startup and hanging things up? I doubt it but this is full disclosure.I have also, pulled battery and removed the micro-sd card to see if that had any affect -- alas to no avail.One analogy I can think of is it as if the Windows Explorer is hung but everything else is working.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently backed up my phone on my computer and ever since I did, it's like all of my personal settings were deleted as well. For instance, I had to fix my all of my profiles sounds after backing up, and I went to my Blackberry Appworld, scrolled over to My Appworld and it says 'no downloads' and I have downloaded a lot of applications. That's not really a problem for me, as long as I get messages when updates come out for the apps...? Now, I am trying to setup another email address and when going to 'email setup wizard', I am being prompted for a Username and Password. I don't remember ever making a username or password for email setup, but was able to firgure out I could put my PIN in for my password to be sent, which it was. BUT I still do not know what my username is, and I've tried my email addresses with and without what's after the @ and still no luck.

What can she do to get her login details back so she can fix her phone? I was thinking we go to the Apple Store and give them some details about the account such as the address used, security questions and date of birth used on the account but i'm not sure if that works. I assume the username that it is requesting would be an email address so I've tried all of mine and all of my passwords in the box, it doesn't seem to be accepting any of them. Also according to my service provider and my sisters blackberry it's not supposed to be requesting any type of username or password there. I recently received a message telling me to validate my e mail address but, despite my and vodafones best efforts, we have been unable to get the phone to validate my e mail password (I know I am typing the right password, because I can access my e mail on my home computer with the password). I've done the validation thing countless times and it NEVER accepts the password. The only way I can get it to work is go to Yahoo and set a new password on my email account. Then I need to get on my 8900 and "validate" with the password.Why do I have to change my Yahoo password to get this to work? I know my password is correct because I got to Yahoo on my laptop, login, and enter the correct password and the email comes up.

I've tried to remove my battery, I've entered it like 30 +times, I even deleted the email from my phone. Now I can't add it back, it keeps saying that it's an invalid password and it can't validate, and to contact hotmail.com. I even changed my password on hotmail.com, I just logged into my hotmail on the actual computer with the correct same password, the same one that my BB won't take. When I put in my password on the email setup page it says, "Processing, please wait..." Then I get this error, "Invalid email address or password. Verify your email address and password. If the error persist, contact hotmail.com. " I have other email accounts on my phone that are working just fine.
