May 26, 2011Ok first off my name is ughwtf because everytime I tried to type in a username it wouldn't do anything so I got annoyed and typed ughwtf and of course it worked. Second off this sight is not very helpful as when I was signing up it didn't even have my phone listed as a choice. My problem is that I do not have backup and restore on my Sony X10 phone and I am trying to update it to android 2.1. I follow the program and it takes me to the site to download backup and restore (which also doesn't have x10 as a model to choose from) and after I download the file on my phone it says blocked for security purposes because it's not from the market. In the instructions (which are for a mini because it doesn't include just a regular x10) it shows the option to allow non market downloads, however on a x10 I cannot find that option under settings or anywhere.

I know for a fact that the username and password are both correct because I can still access my gmail account through my computer. I have deleted the account and have tried reading the account but it will not let me.

When I click on my gmail account it comes up saying it does not recognize my username or my password and yet it has my correct password and username. Mar 13, 2012My Gmail account was telling me I had an incorrectu username and/or password. I treid to delete the account, and reinstall and now I'm still getting the same message. I tried on wifi and 3G, I confirmed I was able to log onto my email from a computer, and I tried to reboot my phone.

Jan 9, 2010I recently backed up my phone on my computer and ever since I did, it's like all of my personal settings were deleted as well. For instance, I had to fix my all of my profiles sounds after backing up, and I went to my Blackberry Appworld, scrolled over to My Appworld and it says 'no downloads' and I have downloaded a lot of applications. That's not really a problem for me, as long as I get messages when updates come out for the apps...? Now, I am trying to setup another email address and when going to 'email setup wizard', I am being prompted for a Username and Password. I don't remember ever making a username or password for email setup, but was able to firgure out I could put my PIN in for my password to be sent, which it was. BUT I still do not know what my username is, and I've tried my email addresses with and without what's after the @ and still no luck.

What can she do to get her login details back so she can fix her phone? I assume the username that it is requesting would be an email address so I've tried all of mine and all of my passwords in the box, it doesn't seem to be accepting any of them. Also according to my service provider and my sisters blackberry it's not supposed to be requesting any type of username or password there. Aug 17, 2012I am adding Email definitions for my Gmail accounts (in addition to the Google account definition for Contacts, etc.) because I want them to appear in the Messaging -> Universal Inbox. (I'm not fond of the Gmail app.)
Similarly, I am adding definitions for my Hotmail accounts because I read somewhere that Moto/Verizon will set them up as IMAP which I cannot achieve through a client like K9, else I would probably just be using it for my Universal Inbox.
Via My Accounts -> Add account -> Email Accounts... If I set up a Gmail or Hotmail account by selecting Other and then automatically or manually configuring, then mail is retrieved. However, if I select the appropriate icon for Gmail or Windows Live Hotmail, the only Email which ever appears in the 'Inbox' is from donotreply@vzw.net regarding the success of the operation - this message is not even sent into my actual Gmail/Hotmail Inbox as verified online.. NONE of the other messages from my Inbox ever appear.
So, why do I care how the account is set up? Mostly because the only easy way to distinguish between the message source in the Universal Inbox is the little icon designating the type of Email account. If they are all set up as Other, they all end up with the same icon.
This functionality worked just fine on my Droid 2. So, is it now broken on the Droid 4?
(As an aside, the Hotmail account is set up automatically as POP3. Was I misinformed that Motorola had a license to set up as IMAP through some licensing agreement with Microsoft?)
