BB Curve 8500 :: Discovering Source Of Email Tags And Deleting Them
Jan 17, 2010
I purchased the Blackberry Storm 9530 four days ago. Since the purchase was made, one email tag remains in the upper left portion of the screen, and I cannot determine what the source of it is, and therefore, cannot delete it. I have checked every email, every voicemail, every Blackberry Messenger message, every text message (all coming in or going out), and everything in the phone in and out box coming in or going out. I cannot find the source of the tag anywhere. I even took the battery out and put it back in, but I cannot determine why the tag is there. Does anyone have any idea why it is doing this, and if so, how do I get rid of it? Thanks.
My Blackberry Curve gives me the option of deleting messages from both Handheld and Mailbox and Handheld. I assume Mailbox means my desktop computer at home which is a Mac, but when I select Mailbox and Handheld for delete, it only deletes from Handheld and NOT from Mailbox. How can I program my 'berry to delete remotely from my desktop?
I have just bought a new BB Curve 8520. On my desktop I have Windows 7, with Microsoft Outlook 2007. My e-mail is a Windows Live account through Office Live, which I believe is a web-based e-mail account. This means, in order for me to get e-mail in Outlook, I have to use the Microsoft Outlook Connector. When I go to sync using Desktop Manager, I first try and install intellisync through the Wizard and I get a "successfully installed message, but when I click "OK" the error: "Folder is no longer part of system data source or the folder could not be found" appears and I am never able to sync successfully, either through the USB or wirelessly. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Desktop Manager many times. However, I am receiving the e-mails through to my BB. But if I'm unable to sync Calendar, Tasks, or clear deleted e-mails etc. with my Desktop, the BB is not a lot of help or benefit to me.
I've already deleted pictures in my media card, but however in "all pictures" mode, I still see the old *and ugly* files there. Have tried to delete them, but my phone says it can't do that since it is read only. What should I do?
I have found my BBs very easy to use, that is until now that I want to delete items. Pretty much sorted out my e-mail problems although despite deleting e-mail accounts, I can't find a way to clear the old messages from the main messsage box apart from individually, which might take a year!I now want to delete my downloads and can't find a way to do that either. For context, I have to return a phone and want to clear it appropriately, either by removing items like downloads and messages that are personal, or by returning to factory settings.

I've had my Curve BB for over a month with little to no problems (it stopped 'pushing' to my custom email a couple weeks ago, but I researched and resent the service books, etc. and it worked fine after that). Now, however, it has dropped/removed my two custom email icons. Poof. Gone. One minute they were there, the next, gone. I've already checked to make sure they weren't hidden. They're not. I went into email setting again and it no longer even showed them as having been set up - one of them being my home email that is pushed to my BB and the second being my BB email itself.
I am having problems with the email on my blackberry - every time I reply to an email, I get sent the original email (which I am replying to) to my phone again. Does anyone know how to stop this?
I have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email. When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.
Im just picked up my curve 8530 with koodo. I have a data plan with unlimited windows live, hotmail, etc... i go to add my email address and it adds it in the list of addresses in the email setup. So when i go to my messages window and i try to compose an email it says "No message service configured. You will be redirected to the Setup Wizard to setup your email" . I also registered with the koodo bis site so i can view my email addresses on my comp as well.
New to Blackberry I am finding my way round slowly. Trying to set up my email address I get as far as Email Set up but the only menu option shown is 'I want to use a work email account with a BB Enterprise Server' cannot find any other but there is a scroll bar do the right hand side of menu window-do `i need to scroll down? How do I do that?
I recently bought a blackberry 8520 curve on prepaid (vodacom).I am having trouble setting up my email address. When I enter the email setup, it doesn't provide an option to set up a personal email account - only one option for blackberry enterprise server. I bought this phone because I need to check my mail on the go quite often and now I can't even get that to work.
1. I have two e-mail accounts set up on my phone. One the one, the red * alert symbol always shows up on that email account's folder, but for the other one the red * alert symbol for new messages shows up on the separate "messages" folder. how do i fix this?
2. I keep randomly receving the message alert symbol (the red *) on my SMS folder, but I click it and i don't have any new messages and all of my messages are read... what's the deal here?
I have a BB 8520. Suddenly when I compose new email it is not able to fetch the addresses from the "Address book" If I enter an email address like there is no "Send" menu, there is only "Save Draft" menu I have sent the service book several times, rebooted the BB (battery pull), still it is not helping. When I send SMS, it can access the address book. If I get an email, I can reply to email. From address book, I can click on an email id and send email.
Starting yesterday, all my incoming emails will not let me delete them. Each time I delete the message it immediately shows up in my inbox again. I have a Gmail account and my Gmail Inbox on my PC is not mirroring this problem. Not only does it not stay deleted but it adds the message as if I've had a reply. For example: "Subject: June 5 Campout (8 items)" Well, the 8 items are not replies from others attending the campout, but rather, it is the same message in my inbox 8 times. Can someone please tell me how to stop this. tried to see if a setting has been changed, but am unable to determine if this has occurred. I am trying to see if somehow, the option, leave a copy of message on the server has been selected, but again, I do not think it has been changed. The only other possibility I can offer is I recently added my work email account to my personal Gmail account, but that had been working correctly for a week or two before this problem began. Could IMAP options/activation cause this to occur? I had looked into my Gmail settings yesterday before this began but I don't think I changed anything but it's possible.
Just got a 8530 from my new work place. I can send/receive mail from the work email account. I can't send/receive email from account called "Desktop". It seems to have been setup in error. It appears in email settings as check box as whether or not to use it along with work email account that does work. The "desktop" account does not appear in the email set up wizard. How do I delete the "Desktop" account. I have attached the pictures.
I just dowloaded and installed desktop software 5.13 and am now not getting any email updates on my curve.I did change me email password in Hotmail, but now cannot reconfigure either of Outlook and my device to allow for continued delivery to my device.I hope someone here can point me in the right direction. I've not been able to find anything via Google or even Microsoft.
I am having many problems with my new blackberry curve 8530. I just purchased this last week and can't seen to be able to view my pictures that my brother sends me from across the country of my brand new nephew. I called Bell Mobility and talked to them for 40 mins and I got no where.
I upgraded to 5.0 (i guess) and now i am experiencing problems with email. I can no longer reply to a message from my BB, reply comes up but after composing reply, there is no send option. Also, pre-update I was able to choose deleting from BB & computer, or just BB, now it is only deleting from BB. This I can deal with but I need to be able to reply to messages from my BB, afterall isn't that one of the reasons to have a BB?? I have the Curve 8530.
I access my emails from work thru a VPN. I purchased a Curve 8520 cause I understood I could receive my emails on my smartphone. I set up my personal emails, which are working fine. But, I can't figure out how to set up my VPN settings for an email account on the 8520. Co-workers who have other smartphones(not Berries) and connect.
I do not ever want my Blackberry to receive any email. I would like to send occasionally. Is this possible? If not is there a software download that will allow it?
I have just purchased the curve 8520.... First of all i cant register an e-mail adress, where it asks you to choose an option the only option i have is "I want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server"... I have ran a diagnostics test and in the report it says.... Blackberry Registration : No Connected to blackberry : No Blackberry pin-pin : No Could this be an issue? How do i register to be connected to blackberry?
One of the reasons I bought a Blackberry is because you can send and receive emails on it. I bought a new 8520 blackberry and I cant set up an email address! Ok, I went through the set-up wizard, and when it got to the email part, there is supposed to be 2 options: I want to create or add an email address and I want to use the blackberry enterprise server
My blackberry only has one option..the enterprise server one. Now I don't work in any office environment, so this is of no use to me. I want to use the first option, that my phone doesn't have.
Hopefully someone will be able to help me with a problem that I am having. My mum bought an 8520 curve on a pay as you go deal with Orange today and while most thing seem to work ok, we are struggling to get the personal email set-up. I have followed the tutorials and instruction manual but when I go to the set-up option, the only option there is the one to set up a Business Enterprise email, not the personal one.I have been googling around and it seems to be a fairly common thing. Is it just a case of calling Orange and asking them to do something at their end? If so what exactly is it they need to do?Also the MSN and ebay applications that I have downloaded also won't work, I'm assuming that this is down to the same issue?
On the 8520. I would like to quickly enable email on and off when out of the UK as all emails become chargeable when not on my native mobile carrier.
My plan is to wait to get emails until the Berry is conneced to a hotel wi fi system. I assume at that point the berry will collect emails via the wi fi and so carrier charges will not apply.
So for convenience I need to enable/disable emails on the fly
I have just bought a curve 8500 and do not have the option to set up a personal email account - it says to contact my service provider but BT has not been facilitating at all - I have been at this for almost 2 hours and am ready to take the blackberry back to the shop and get something else.
All of the sudden, my bb is deleting emails right after I read them so they do not remain in my inbox. What can I do to change these settings so that emails only delete when I initiate it?
