I am completely new and just recieved my Blackbery Curve 8520 today. My previous LG Neon had the threaded view and I have read that the newest updates of the blackberry's do too. But when I update it, it does not show my SMS in a threaded view.
i have observed threaded view sms in my friends handset (android) its lot easy to manage sms and read the conversation cant nokia provide such update of messaging i tried using some software but it was **bleep**.using 5230 would love to have threaded sms view for default messaging
I recently purchased a foreign Sony Ericsson C903 Cybershot Phone. What I'm wondering is how to enable Threaded-View SMS? I have tried a couple of ways my friends have suggested; Menu>Inbox> Press right arrow key. But there seems to be no option still of threaded view? Am I the one not doing it properly or is it a faulty mobile?
I am having many problems with my new blackberry curve 8530. I just purchased this last week and can't seen to be able to view my pictures that my brother sends me from across the country of my brand new nephew. I called Bell Mobility and talked to them for 40 mins and I got no where.
my phone freezes/hang when i open a msg in threaded view( coz i always use threaded view). is there something wrong?. There's no application running at that time.. and 1 thing is ELM can be affected by virus?
I could not seem to find the right postings to help me with this.I attached a simple small .jpg file and sent it to the new Sprint 8530 BB phone to use as a desktop background. The attachment is a 'Winmail.dat' file. I have downloaded the file to what I thought to me the picture folder but it does not show up.
1) Is there a setting that would automatically show the attached pics like on my old Tmobile Blackberry? (Like an 8320 series)
If I have to 'Download images' manually everytime, I am taking this thing (actually 3 of them) back to Sprint and going back to T-mobile.
I think i have the same problem with a few BlackBerry Users out there. I can't view SMS even though there's clearly a notification stating that i've a new SMS. I need to go to View SMS inbox to view the message.
I am unable to run Videos nor i am able to view my pictures taken from 8500 (both videos and pictures) when i transfer them to my pc. Plz suggest what needs to be done.
If you are like me, you hate gmail's threaded conversations. Until the Android gmail app catches up with the browser based gmail interface (which makes threaded conversations an option), there is a work around. You can use the stock email app in place of the gmail app. For further details on the pros and cons and directions on how to make the change, click here.
I can't get my Bluetooth to work and its really annoying me!! I have the blackberry curve 8520 and I can't seem to pair with anyone let alone send or receive anything! Please help me before I go mad.
I downloaded the desktop manager, and am trying to sync my gmail on my laptop with my BB. When I try to set up the sync preferences, it gives me the options of outlook, yahoo, and ASCII importer. I use gmail, but not outlook. How do I sync these and the calendar as well?
I have repeatedly downloaded media sync, and I cannot transfer pictures off of my girlfriend's 8530 curve? Anyone else experience this? If so, how did you get around it?Since all the documentation is for the PC, I'm thinking RIM is trying to pull a fast one on Mac users.
I have a blackberry curve the 8500 series. And I use it for just about everything. The only problem I have is that I cant view my bank account on the browser. I am can get to the loggin screen and after I put my info in and press ok it goes to a white screen and says at the top "dual authentication".
The phone is not frozen it just wont load up my bank account. I know my bank account works on mobile devices because before I got my bb I had a phone that it worked on and my boyfriends phone lets me do it too. I know a bb can do just about everything so I am guessing there is a setting I have to change.
Okay, so my brother got the new BlackBerry Storm and gave me his old BlackBerry Curve 8520 and I can't get the BlackBerry Messenger to work. I can't add contacts on it, and when people try to add me I don't get a notification. My web browser also doesn't work, even though I'm connected to a wireless internet.
Off topic, but how do I send stuff from my computer to my BB, by bluetooth, or is there a wire?
I have a 6 month old phone that has never been wet. Today for no apparent reason all the buttons stopped working. The trackpad can be used to scroll back and forth across the home screen till the screen fades due to inactivity.
A couple of weeks ago my employer gave me a password to activate my Outlook account for my Curve 8530. I was able to send and receive emails for about 3 days, then I suddenly stopped receving emails.I can send email from my outlook address, my Sent Items appear and my Outlook calendar items appear on the blackberry calendar.I'm just not receiving emails through the Inbox.I've contacted my carrier and my IT department at work, but no one can figure out why I'm not getting emails on the Curve. The usual fixes aren't working.
so I updated my OS to v5, everything looks nice and new (even though some standard apps were missing, like BBM?!) but I can't seem to activate the option for threaded sms. How can I do this?
So I just downgraded from 5.0 back to 4.5 cause I couldn't take the low memory and freezing that I had with my 8330 verzion, but now I can't stand that I don't have threaded texts. Before I downgraded I set up a couple of people on my BBM to be SMS only just to see if it worked, and it did. I figured that BBM would just transfer over so I would have threaded BBM/SMS's. Well figures that I don't and crunchSMS doesn't show that I have notifications just wondering if anyone knows how to get BBM to let me add someone just to SMS with. Sorry if this is confusing.
I just installed the new boost mobile version of 5.0 and so far love it except for one thing..in my sms right above my text box, it shows my callback number. Is there a way to hide that? Or am I stuck with that?
Is there anyway possible to get my SMS threaded and grouped as conversations on the native application? My 3520 doesnt, but it does on my friend's who has a 3530. I use crunchSMS and its okay, but what if it stops working randomly. Are there any updates I could download??
when I got the phone I could open the calendar in monthly view and when I clicked a day it would open in daily view, so I could see all events for that day.
What is currently happening is: when I open calendar it starts in task list view, and i can switch to monthly view, i can browse the calendars, but when I get to a day I want to view, I click it and it shows the event list view, from today, its so frustrating because I want to see details of the day I clicked, not today.
I have tried flipping all sorts of settings and the phone has been restarted since this.
Searching for "greater" or "less" wasn't working too well. I am using a Droid bionic with the latest updates, and the original bionic lapdock. In Firefox, the greater < and > work fine. However, in the mobile view, < and > appear as : and ; respectively. I tested this in a few different apps. Since those symbols share the same buttons on the soft keyboard, it looks like they are just mapped wrong. All the other symbols work fine in mobile view, including those which require a shift.
I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.
I have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email. When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.
I have had my curve 8520 for about three weeks and whenever i get a picture message i try to retrieve it and i dont get it. it says receiving message for a while but then it just goes away, other times it will wont receive the message for a long time then after a few hours i get it. why does it do this? why cant i get the picture message right away?
I had to do a software update this morning for my phone so I did this and in the process it got to the screen that says:
Overall restore Progress: 1%
Current Database: BBGrouops 69%
Elapsed Time: 28:55
It has been stuck here all day! I called Fido earlier and asked them what to do and they told me to connect to my computer, I have done that and have tried everything and the problem still exists.
