Is there a way to set the backlight to illuminate once A notification is received? As it currently stands, when the backlight times out it won't turn back on until I phsyically Press a button. I'd like for it to light up when something is received. I looked in the backlight options but didn't see anything.

It seems to have been setup in error. It appears in email settings as check box as whether or not to use it along with work email account that does work. The "desktop" account does not appear in the email set up wizard. How do I delete the "Desktop" account. I have attached the pictures.

Problem 1:
New messages wont show up, I have to go into general messages and select "View Folder" > "SMS Inbox"
I have it set to combined simply because I just want all my messages in the main message folder but whenever a new message comes in I have to go into the SMS inbox folder.
Problem 2:
I'm having the same trouble with my email, I keep getting the notification come up for a new email but it is no-where to be found.
Problem 3:
I've set my blackberry to the Vibrate profile, the only time it seems to vibrate is when I get a new facebook notification and thats it.
I have the BB 8530. When I get a voicemail, a simple, white icon (a single line with a small circle at each end) appears in the top left of my screen, where the email & text notification icons also appear. In the past, once I check my voicemails, the icon goes away. But this time it has not. I have checked my voicemail several times and even erased all of my saved voice mails, but the icon will not go away! How can I get rid of it?

Possibly, it is due to the phone being registered out of MI, with a MI area code, and the phone and myself, are actually located in a western state. Irregardless, I have not received any notification of an upgrade and before I go looking for it, is it really worthwhile at this time, or should I wait until all the bugs I'm reading about are fixed?My X with Froyo, is operating great. No problems other than maybe once a week a freeze up that requires a battery pull. Since I came from the BB world, and I also carry a BB tour for work, battery pulls are no big deal and almost seems natural.I read about problems, not only here, but on a few other forums. I read where people have to take their phones into the local Verizon store for service after GB upgrade. That is not a good option for me, since this involves a 120 mile trip to the nearest Verizon store

There's no way to end or stop any phone calls. The screen will reactivate once the other person ends their call. Also does the same thing calling voice mail, etc.... no screen available to enter security codes

View 1 Replies View RelatedI think I have had this issue since I upgraded to os 5 .411. What happens is while my screen's black or even in standby, the backlight goes on by itself for a few seconds. This interrupts even auto standby. My uncles 8900 didn't have this issue till yesterday when I upgr his bb to os 5 as well. I'm forced to turn my bb upside down at nighttime.

I've read its supposed to detect dim light and turn on, on its own but I can be in a pitch black room and it wont turn on. Also i read that if you cover the led indicator light it should come on, tried that and it didn't work. View 1 Replies View RelatedI dropped my Blackberry Curve 8530 back around Christmas 2010, and the trackpad stopped working. I could click on things, but I couldn't select other things. I took the battery out and let it sit for a few hours, and when I started back up, it was fine, and I haven't had any problems since. Today I was using my phone, and I noticed that the trackpad had started acting up again. I could open my very first app on my homescreen, but I couldn't scroll up or down or to the left or right. So I pulled out the battery, left it out for a bit, and now the screen seems to be broken. At first I thought my phone wouldn't even turn on, but I can see that it's turned on, there's just no backlight. The LED light doesn't work, so really, I can't do anything on my phone but dial out and receive calls. The screen looks black since the light doesn't seem to be working. I plan on replacing the LCD screen first to see if that helps, since it's cheaper than buying a new blackberry. If I replace the LCD, will that fix the lighting, or not?

however when i am watching a video on Internet using bolt browser, the screen goes black after 30 seconds. it should not!
