Jul 29, 2010I just bought a brand new blackberry curve 8900 and i've noticed that the keyboard backlight won't come on. I've read its supposed to detect dim light and turn on, on its own but I can be in a pitch black room and it wont turn on. Also i read that if you cover the led indicator light it should come on, tried that and it didn't work. I also went to the keypad and display settings and turned diming off and pretty much no matter what I do I can't get the backlight to turn on.

Apr 19, 2010My 8520 was working fine last night but the battery was down to 10% charge.
Charged the battery up and phone worked fine and I turned it off before going to bed.
The phone turned on fine this morning and was showing a full charge. I did turn it off when I got to work and when I went to turn it back on when I went to lunch I got nothing. The LED glows briefly and faintly when I try to power the phone on.
I tried hooking to my car charger but with the same results.

Apr 24, 2012It's about 2 months that I have a Blackberry Bold 9900, and I am new to Blackberry overall.I am having trouble turning off the backlight. The light stays on all the time. When I lock my phone, the backlight will go off for 2 seconds and then it'll come back on. I tried playing with all the settings in the options Screen Display, and nothing seems to turn it off.

Apr 17, 2012Lately I've had trouble with my iPhone 4S backlight. The backlight does not always turn on when I wake the phone from sleep.
I've tried turning off the auto-brightness, but it does not help, the same behaviour continues. When the backlight is not on toggling the auto-brightness button or adjusting the brightness or covering the ambient light sensor have no effect, the backlight stays off. Usually it just randomly turns on after I put the device to sleep and wake it up. And no, my cover does not block the sensor either.

Apr 24, 2011I can't get my Xoom to turn on the backlight. I can see that everything else works, by using reflective light I can see enough to do some simple actions, like changing brightness settings, and accept the shutdown dialog.I have tried anything that I can think off; turning on and off automatic brightness, cold reset, and shutting down and restart.
There doesn't seem to be a hardware error. I managed to get it to work again for a while yesterday, but I haven't been able to repeat that today.
Does anyone have any idea on how to turn the backlight on?

Sep 2, 2012Yesterday my BB8520 froze and I pulled out battery and pull in again after i pull in the phone doesn't wont to start it just blink my led red 1 long and after series of 4 short blinks.I read a lot of forums and I tried everything like loader and etc. but the main problem is that my pc doesn't recognize my bb. I already try with different cables and other pc but steel same story. I put on wall charger to be charged all night but nothing change as well I pull out my battery more than 4 hours nothing change again it's any possibility this phone to be putted in some kind of flash mode which will help to be recognized by my pc. And steel I don't know does it charge my phone when is in this mode because I think that I have only 3 stripes when I pull out my battery.

Dec 11, 2011I was using my phone and then it just switched off. The battery was half charged. I took out the battery and tried to turn it on again however nothing is happening. Everytime I take out the battery and put it back the red light on the right hand corner comes on for a couple of seconds then turns off again. I have kept the phone plugged into the charger but even then no change.

Oct 28, 2011I have a blackberry curve 8520, i bought it last month sometime.I woke up yesterday morning and the balckberry was off, and would not switch on after i pushed down the ON button. So I charged it for a while, and still, it wouldnt switch on. Then, i took it off charge, took out the battery put the battery back in and it rebooted. The loading bar went right to the end, and the logo of my service provider appeared. And that's when it stopped loading. All that will show is the logo, it wont turn off, unless i take the battery out again.I had downloaded an app the night before it stopped working off appworld, could that have affected it?

Dec 10, 2011my Curve 8520 has broke 4 times!+been sent off every time, its so annoying! i've also topped up before most of these happend so while its getting 'fixed' its wasting my credit days!anyway to the point; my phone was on red so i plugged the charger in and it didnt charge? so i left it and carried on, on bbm and then it said 'battery to low for radio use' i tried charging it again and it just wouldnt charge! it ran out of bttery and i thought it was the charger, but then used my other charger and it still didnt work! where you put the end of the charger in the blackberry its very wobbly and last time i sent it off the whole inside bit of where it plugs in came out, but they fixed that..
