Lately I've had trouble with my iPhone 4S backlight. The backlight does not always turn on when I wake the phone from sleep.
I've tried turning off the auto-brightness, but it does not help, the same behaviour continues. When the backlight is not on toggling the auto-brightness button or adjusting the brightness or covering the ambient light sensor have no effect, the backlight stays off. Usually it just randomly turns on after I put the device to sleep and wake it up. And no, my cover does not block the sensor either.

It's about 2 months that I have a Blackberry Bold 9900, and I am new to Blackberry overall.I am having trouble turning off the backlight. The light stays on all the time. When I lock my phone, the backlight will go off for 2 seconds and then it'll come back on. I tried playing with all the settings in the options Screen Display, and nothing seems to turn it off.

Is this normal and nothing more than a bug?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a brand new blackberry curve 8900 and i've noticed that the keyboard backlight won't come on. I've read its supposed to detect dim light and turn on, on its own but I can be in a pitch black room and it wont turn on. Also i read that if you cover the led indicator light it should come on, tried that and it didn't work. I also went to the keypad and display settings and turned diming off and pretty much no matter what I do I can't get the backlight to turn on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't get my Xoom to turn on the backlight. I can see that everything else works, by using reflective light I can see enough to do some simple actions, like changing brightness settings, and accept the shutdown dialog.I have tried anything that I can think off; turning on and off automatic brightness, cold reset, and shutting down and restart.
There doesn't seem to be a hardware error. I managed to get it to work again for a while yesterday, but I haven't been able to repeat that today.
Does anyone have any idea on how to turn the backlight on?
My screen backlight will not turn off unless I put the phone in a holster or cover. I've tried all the settings and nothing works.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to control the button backlights? It would be really nice to be able to turn them off. Ever try to read a Kindle book or watch videos in the dark? The buttons are really bright compared to the screen and they hurt my eyes. I could find any control in the settings. Any chance of adding that feature
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to turn off this ugly keyboard backlight on my Vivaz pro? Or just fade it down, it doesn't have to shine so bright! + drains the battery, please put a on and off switch for the keyboard backlight in the next update, I have already turned off my 3g because my battery doesn't even last 1 day. And one more thing, I think it should be possible to chose if u want the display to auto rotate or just stay in landscape mode all the time. And also, is it possible to make the standard Symbian home screen in landscape mode?

My phone was working perfectly up until now when I realized the backlight won't turn on!
I can see the screen but it's crazy dim I have to put it to a light to see anything at all. Tried brightness, obviously didn't work.
The phone was in my bra/shirt for several hours. I'm thinking maybe the phone overheated? Not sure.
Other than trying to reset/restore the phone which I heard usually doesn't work, and changing the LCD, what can I do to fix it that doesn't include opening up the phone?

I need a way to reduce the backlight more than software will allow.I usually use my phone in the dark, and it is ridiculously bright. There is also a noticeable flicker in the fluorescent backlight.I am almost tempted to pop the thing open and either install LED backlighting or pop a resistor in there. If anyone knows of anything to help, please let me know.
