Sep 20, 2012The backlight on my Blackberry 9900 stays on. It will not shut down even though I have reset the options. Also, if I press down on the 'lock", it will shut off for about 10 seconds but then light up again.

Nov 29, 2013I have noticed that the back light on the camera (the small round one) stays on constantly. the lens cover was stuck open and the camera wont start. didnt hear the caller but the caller could hear me when in a call. no sound from the bottom speaker. all at once. screen ok vibrating ok.
I have noticed this when i pulled the phone from my pocket. it has been there for 20 minutes or so. before working fine.
Managed to get some of the hardware working later by looping videos i have recorded. after 4 5 times the sound came back. then after plugging headphones in the jack and pulling it out again i could hear the caller. then downloaded hardware test app and the camera came back but every time i switched from still to video the flash went off. happened also when switching from front facing cam to the normal one.

Oct 28, 2011I'm at work posting on the bionic so making this short. I let my phone charge over night with oem wall charger i unplug it to go to the gym. Well i usually turn the lights on in my room. This morning i did not as i unplugged the bionic the backlight light up dimly. I let it sit i finally got tired of testing it the backlight stayed on indefinitely. I let it sit 5 min still on i have to push power button to wake and again to lock. So i was wondering if anyone noticed this it can drain battery i sometimes put phone in gym bag after charging without waking phone.

Apr 4, 2011I just started using my new torch last week. All fine so far, just the call log (in phone app the center part) remains empty no matter what I do. I tried all settings in the menu and also checked the folder (lots of calls) and had it shown in the message list as well. So calls are being recorded, just not shown in there at all! What to do? Can't be a memory issue since it's the new and free of any user data (photos music etc) so plenty of storage!

Feb 23, 2014I recently noticed that the screen of my HTC One stays on after I miss a call. It eventually locks again on its own, but only after 2 minutes (i.e., the time I set for it to sleep on its own). The normal behavior I expect is for the phone to lock immediately after the phone stops ringing, as there could be various accidents if the screen is on while in my pocket.
I'm running CM 11 (i.e., Android 4.4.2).

Jan 24, 2010I just updated to 442 and everything else seems fine except for the fact that when on a call, as soon as the backlight times out, it mutes the mic and the party on the other end cannot hear me. Clicking the trackball "unmutes" the phone until the backlight times out again. This happens whether I'm on speakerphone or not.
I posted this in the actual OS thread as well but figured someone in here may read this and know of a solution.
I've done quite a few battery pulls hoping this would resolve the issue but it hasn't.
The nice thing about upgrading from 296 to this is when you are on a call and the backlight times out, the screen and everything but the 4 buttons on the trackpad row go dim. So if its dark you can still find these 4 buttons rather easily. I just wish I could figure out this mute issue.

Nov 4, 2015I use my N5 to hotspot connect to my car mounted tablet. It does this automatically using Tasker (great app!). It has been working great for a year. But recently, when I make a call, I get a message saying "Disabled Wi-Fi hotspot due to SIM subscription change".I can get it on again if I manually go in an toggle it back on after the call. But this is obviously not preferred to do while driving.

Oct 30, 2015So just got my 6p yesterday but it seems as though ambient display although turned on is not working ND when I answer a phone call my screen stays black during the call and won't wake up.
So apparently it's because the tempered glass screen protector is covering the proximity sensor. I still have to actually test that theory out once I get a new protector but from doing some digging that most def it. Just a heads up I used the one by super shieldz so don't buy that one until they make a cut out for the sensor.

Jun 5, 2012My phone was working perfectly up until now when I realized the backlight won't turn on!
I can see the screen but it's crazy dim I have to put it to a light to see anything at all. Tried brightness, obviously didn't work.
The phone was in my bra/shirt for several hours. I'm thinking maybe the phone overheated? Not sure.
Other than trying to reset/restore the phone which I heard usually doesn't work, and changing the LCD, what can I do to fix it that doesn't include opening up the phone?

Jul 1, 2010I need a way to reduce the backlight more than software will allow.I usually use my phone in the dark,and it is ridiculously bright.There is also a noticeable flicker in the fluorescent backlight.I am almost tempted to pop the thing open and either install LED backlighting or pop a resistor in there.If anyone knows of anything to help, please let me know.

Apr 17, 2012Lately I've had trouble with my iPhone 4S backlight. The backlight does not always turn on when I wake the phone from sleep.
I've tried turning off the auto-brightness, but it does not help, the same behaviour continues. When the backlight is not on toggling the auto-brightness button or adjusting the brightness or covering the ambient light sensor have no effect, the backlight stays off. Usually it just randomly turns on after I put the device to sleep and wake it up. And no, my cover does not block the sensor either.
