I just updated to 442 and everything else seems fine except for the fact that when on a call, as soon as the backlight times out, it mutes the mic and the party on the other end cannot hear me. Clicking the trackball "unmutes" the phone until the backlight times out again. This happens whether I'm on speakerphone or not.
I posted this in the actual OS thread as well but figured someone in here may read this and know of a solution.
I've done quite a few battery pulls hoping this would resolve the issue but it hasn't.
The nice thing about upgrading from 296 to this is when you are on a call and the backlight times out, the screen and everything but the 4 buttons on the trackpad row go dim. So if its dark you can still find these 4 buttons rather easily. I just wish I could figure out this mute issue.
My eyes are kind of damaged and I need to know if the Nexus 6P phone screen uses PWM for backlight dimming. Majority of people never notice it but I'd say 5% of people have issues caused by it (headache, migraines, seizures, etc.) Kind of like the CRT flicker but in modern LED backlit devices.
To test use a high end camera/DSLR with adjustable shutter speed and look for black lines on the phone screen when adjusting the camera's shutter speed.
I have tried looking before posting this but I can't find anything to help me. I upgraded to 5.0.0.545 and my mute key no longer puts my phone into standby mode. How can I lock the keyboard when I put my phone into my purse now? Is this OS filled with bugs or is it actually better?
The only way to turn on the keypad is in the TEST of Hardware, if you go to the Next Step it turns off again. What I did was Turning on the Backlight Keypad in Test and then pressed CHANGE APLICATION (Something Like that I have it in Spanish) and then the Lights Keep up all the time. But if I go to the Music Player and I use "MUTE KEY" the Backlight Keypad turns off. (ONLY WHEN I PRESS MUTE ON THE MUSIC PLAYER)
how to lock the touch screen during a call? I have had very embarrassing moments of the world hearing my conversation when the speaker phone activates. Is there a way, without setting a password to lock, as this then stops me from answering a call on my carkit
I have a bold 9700 v5.0.0.400(Platform 5.1.0.110)I always keep my phone on vibrate - I prefer it this way as I can be inconspicuous and answer at my convienience.I set an alarm the other day, and was shocked to discover it played an alarm ringtone.I also wanted to watch a movie silently, but it wouldn't let me, and started playing the track despite me thinking I had all the sounds off.Is there some master setting to mute all sounds, period? If not, how could I go about at least muting the alarm sounds?
I've noticed that when I receive a MMS message with sound, it default to mute and I am not able to hear it. On the old bold (9000), I was able to change the volume or make it mute right on the message. This doesn't give me an option to change the volume.I checked in my settings and there is nothing that looks wrong.
Is there a way to disable the lock and mute buttons on the top of the BlackBerry Bold 9700? I just received my new windshield cradle that grips it from top and bottom, and the buttons are invariable pressed accidentally for a variety of reasons. Perhaps an application that can shut them off, or some type if setting?
9700 phone on Orange UK, version 5.0.0.351, platform 5.1.0.98 how do I disable the little mute/lock button on the top of the phone? It works beautifully but means that when the phone is in my jeans pocket it unlocks itself and I've made several random calls. any ideas how to switch it off?
This issue has been happning for a while, but for the last week or so it has been happening more frequently. A phone call arrives and sends the phone into a reset, similar to what QuickPull would do. No open apps, no error message, it just resets.I have searched a bit, but have not found anyone posting a similar issue so far. I run the stock T-Mobile OS, and a few extra RIM and 3rd party apps.
I am a new owner of a Blackberry Bold. When I receive a phone call, the phone only rings once and if I don't answer within 4 or 5 seconds I get a "missed call message". I've explored chanding ring tones accessed from the "Loud" icon without success. How do I get the phone to ring for longer like normal mobiles or landlines?
I have an issue with the Bold, when I'm speaking on a phone call the line disconnects while the phone receives e-mail and / or when the 3G/ GPRS switches from one to another.I have no idea on how to fix this issue. I have tried changing the network parameters for it to work on 2G only, 3G only and both but it hasn't fixed the issue.
I read ebooks voraciously, it's very useful when in bed with the other half and he's trying to sleep, not to need a bedside light on.My problem occurs when using an ebook reader (currently Mobipocket - though please do enlighten me if you know of one better which will easily take books from the file offerings of the Gutenberg Project):
The keypad remains bright, much brighter than the screen (especially as I set the background to black and the text to mid-grey).I'd love to be able to toggle off the keypad backlight somehow.I've found a sort-of workaround, where I go to the Clock and set Bedside Mode, then switch application back to Mobipocket - the screen dims and the keyboard turns off...
BUT only until I use the optical pad to swipe to the next page, and the keypad lights come back on and blind me. They do fade out again but by this time I'm halfway down the new page and about to swipe again!Anyone? Keyboard backlight toggle? Is such a thing ever going to be possible or is this a well-flogged long-dead horse?
After installing the update, i found that i can't mute the song by pressing the right corner button(mute/standby button). Does anyone also facing such problem?
Im trying to figure out if i should just return this phone, this is my second bold, "auto focus problem was other problem". I've had this phone for around three months, three or four times it has happened, i will be in the middle of a call and i will hear nothing, i look at the phone and its locked up, then solid red light, then phone reboots. Phone works fine for three or four weeks. i never had this problem with my curve 8320. I think its a app that might be auto updating on its own but wanted to see if anyone else is having same problem.
Is they way that when im in a call that i can press the left phone button to activate or de-activate the speaker phone? As i need a more convinient way of activating and de activating the speaker phone rather than pressing menu then scrolling down to the actiate option.
Was just wondering if its possible to mute the incoming call ring without rejecting the call? I have seen that feature in some htc phones and tried on my phone but it didnt work.
I did an upgrade to v5.0.0.680 on my Blackberry 9700 and after that my Standby - Mute button not working also the Email Setup is missing an option to add a personal account it only giving me option to add "Blackberry Enterprise Server."
when I turn on the screen on my g3 after a few seconds the screen dims ever so slightly and is noticeable , the percentage on the brightness scale stays at the 75% tho , its set to 75% all the time , not using auto brightness , unrooted using Nova launcher .
When I make a phone call or when someone calls me, my light doesn't dim. While talking to someone my face hits one of the buttons on the phone, especially the mute button.
can be able to shut off the auto dimming feature? This feature makes the screen so dim I can not see a dam thing when I am outside. I have to hide my BBY under my coat to read email or make a call.
Using 9700 on Vodafone UK - Software Version 5.0.0.423..This has happened a few times now. At first I thought it was just me not reading the screen properly. And it only happens now and again.
What happens is that sometimes when I get a call the screen shows the last callers details as if they were ringing again - but it is someone else. When I hang up the call or if I miss the call - the details then show the correct persons details - weird.
If I pull the battery out it all works fine then for a week or two and then starts happening again. It is not a big deal or anything - just a bit strange.
I am using the Sony Xperia Neo v mobile for last 2 months and recently I discovered that I am not able to put the call on mute while on a phone call. Is this feature not available for this phone or I am not looking at the right place ?
