I am a new owner of a Blackberry Bold.When I receive a phone call, the phone only rings once and if I don't answer within 4 or 5 seconds I get a "missed call message". I've explored chanding ring tones accessed from the "Loud" icon without success.How do I get the phone to ring for longer like normal mobiles or landlines?

I have a Blackberry Bold 2 9700. Till 2 weeks ago it worked perfectly, 2 weeks ago while I was sleeping my phone ranged, then I pressed a button(I am not sure but should be the mute button) and suddenly it started to ring only once(then it starts the vibration) while in holster. I looked every setting of it but could not find anything wrong.

A phone call arrives and sends the phone into a reset, similar to what QuickPull would do. No open apps, no error message, it just resets.I have searched a bit, but have not found anyone posting a similar issue so far. I run the stock T-Mobile OS, and a few extra RIM and 3rd party apps.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy BB 9700 doesn't catch the first 4-5 rings of an incoming call. It's so bad that incoming Google Voice calls go straight to Google voicemail. If I call myself, I hear 4-5 rings on the calling side before the BB begins to ring. I've changed the ringer settings from vibrate but this seems to do little.
Before this phone I had a Sony Ericcson k850 that had the same problem. Before that I had the SE k550i that did NOT have any problem. If I take that old phone and put my sim card in it now, it still has no ring lag.
So I believe it has something to do with the phone settings within the phone, though this BB is the first phone I bought that came from AT&T (branded probably). Can I change some setting for the phone to ping the towers more often? I don't see anything for slot cycle on the phone...
My blackberry bold 9700 cannot send SMS to any number, it can only receive SMS. Email and other online services are working well. I have checked the message center and it's correct. This problem started 3 days ago. Before that, SMS is working fine. I haven't done anything special 3 days ago, and really clueless about this. Early this day, I tried to put my sim card to other phone, and it can send SMS. Put it back to my bb 9700 and this problem started again. Any solution for this problem guys? I'm using OS 5.0.0.442

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have only had it a month and everything was fine until a few days ago.I think im going to go mental on this phone becasue its really annoying me.Quite often when attempting to make a phone call the message 'no circuit/channel available' will come up and i cannot make or receive phone-calls.After looking at various other threads i found that this is usually a problem with people on the vodafone network (which i am not on) and is something to do with 3G. Now, having read other threads, turning 3G off and using only 2G solves the problem, but then, what is the point of having 3G if you cannot use it, right? I also dont have the problem in my house as i use wi-fi to connect to my wireless router and boost the signal.

I have tried changing the network parameters for it to work on 2G only, 3G only and both but it hasn't fixed the issue.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is very frustrating! My phone has recently started ringing when I'm receiving incoming call but the screen remains idle and doesn't display who's calling. It also doesn't display the answer/ignore options and will continue to ring until I switch the phone off! I have also been receiving 'Unknown' calls from known numbers too.
I have looked through your forums and have read the Settings/Personalisation/Manage Notifications fix. I am in the UK however and my settings don't appear to have these options at all. I am a carer for my 2 year old daughter and depend on my phone for doctor/hospital appointments, physio, emergencies etc. I have a few months left on the contract and if I am very tempted to settle contract early as the phone is no use to me while it is doing this.
I just updated to 442 and everything else seems fine except for the fact that when on a call, as soon as the backlight times out, it mutes the mic and the party on the other end cannot hear me. Clicking the trackball "unmutes" the phone until the backlight times out again. This happens whether I'm on speakerphone or not.
I posted this in the actual OS thread as well but figured someone in here may read this and know of a solution.
I've done quite a few battery pulls hoping this would resolve the issue but it hasn't.
The nice thing about upgrading from 296 to this is when you are on a call and the backlight times out, the screen and everything but the 4 buttons on the trackpad row go dim. So if its dark you can still find these 4 buttons rather easily. I just wish I could figure out this mute issue.
Im trying to figure out if i should just return this phone, this is my second bold, "auto focus problem was other problem". I've had this phone for around three months, three or four times it has happened, i will be in the middle of a call and i will hear nothing, i look at the phone and its locked up, then solid red light, then phone reboots. Phone works fine for three or four weeks. i never had this problem with my curve 8320. I think its a app that might be auto updating on its own but wanted to see if anyone else is having same problem.

The Photon is my 3rd Android.I have noticed that each phone , whether smartphone or not, has the same issue that has caused me to miss incoming phone calls here and there - the caller dials my number and hears several rings before my phone actually starts ringing. The phone goes to voicemail before I have the opportunity to answer the phone.The solution for my phones has always been to adjust the Slot Cycle index from the default setting of 2 to the setting of 0. This causes the phone to poll towers more frequently, thus the phone is more quickly aware of a new incoming call. The only negative implication is that the phone goes through battery a bit more quickly during the day...but it's really only a tiny difference. I've done this on my phones, on my spouse's phones, my mom's phone, etc.
Since the Photon's battery life is so much better than my prior phone (EVO 4G) I am very comfortable in adjusting the Slot Cycle index, so I obtained my MSL from Sprint and attempted the adjustment by going to the Dialer:##DATA# ->tap green Dial icon -> to the Data Settings menu...tap Advanced->From there you can see that the Slotted Index is set to 2. So I wanted to change the setting but can't get to it from Menu->Edit->enter MSL code->VerifyI called Sprint about this issue, and in the past they have helped me to change the setting. I have called more than once and have been dealing with the more advanced Tech Support team. No one at Sprint can figure out how to adjust this setting on the Photon.
Is they way that when im in a call that i can press the left phone button to activate or de-activate the speaker phone? As i need a more convinient way of activating and de activating the speaker phone rather than pressing menu then scrolling down to the actiate option.

I was adding a custom ringtone and accidentally edited vibrate and hit replace all.Now it no longer rings on any profile.and yes i did change it so it plays a ringtone again, and nothing.I even restored the profiles to yesterdays backup.and nothing works.
My blackberry suddenly forbid me to make, receive calls and send, receive sms. I've tried several way to fix this includeing
-batt pull
-batt pull + remove sim card
-update FW .423>.442
-wiped and relode FW (.442)
-resend service book
-re-register host routing table
Then I look at manage connections>Services status and it says, Mobile Voice status: not available connection: not connected. put my sim card into another phone (nokia) it could make, reseive call and sms so it shouldn't be sim card problem. Other services are working fine, BBM, email and facebook.
How do i set up the number of rings on my phone, before it goes to voicemail ? Can't find this in instruction book, or voicemail prompts on phone. My carrier is AT&T. Thanks for any help.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had my Bold 9700 plugged into speakers and listening to Slacker like I have done in the past. Now when I try to make a call or receive a call the "Headset" icon flashes on and off as tho the headset is plugged in when nothing is plugged into the jack. This overrides speakerphone too. So basically I can receive and send a call but it cuts in and out quickly since it thinks the headset is taking over.
Not sure if this is a glitch or if something happened when listening to music. Nothing looks abnormal when I look into the headset port. I was thinking maybe I should update the software to see if its a software or bug.

I have the X6. The phone rings and I unlock the keyguard using the slider on the side of the phone and the phone stops ringing. Then in order to answer the phone I press the green button on the bottom left of the phone or I press answer call on the screen and then I can speak which I suppose sounds fair enough. But I just think that something is wrong because surely the phone should continue to make the 'ringing' noise until I actually answer the call rather than going mute just because I have unlocked the keyguard.. Am I doing something wrong or is this just how the phone works?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just gotten a Bold 9700 and noticed that even though I have the option to sync the profile pictures of my friends with my contacts profiles on the phone, the pictures for my phone contacts remain blank. The Facebook profiles are linked to my contacts and sometimes will show the Facebook profile picture but after a while the picture reverts to a blank icon again. I've also unselected the option to sync and re-enabled the option to update Blackberry contacts with my Facebook contacts to try and force the pictures to update but no success.
I was thinking that it might also be because of a conflict wiyth other apps trying to update the contact pictures seeing as I originally imported all my contatcs from my Gmail account but I am unable to figure out which other apps, if any, are updating contact pics and thereby turn them off.
Blackberry contacts linked to a LinkedIn profile show their LinkedIn profile pics correctly though and other than that I only have BB Messenger, GTalk, Windows Live Messenger and Facebook that are linked to my Blackberry contacts.Any ideas on how I can get my contacts' pictures to sync correctly with Facebook?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI use gmail and when I delete an email on the web, it doesn't delete on my BB. The same goes for when I open an email on the web, it doesn't show 'read' on my BB. Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.
