I have a Blackberry Bold 2 9700. Till 2 weeks ago it worked perfectly, 2 weeks ago while I was sleeping my phone ranged, then I pressed a button(I am not sure but should be the mute button) and suddenly it started to ring only once(then it starts the vibration) while in holster. I looked every setting of it but could not find anything wrong.
View 4 RepliesWhen I call my phone I hear 4 rings on the phone I am calling from. However the blackberry itself only rings twice and just vibrates in between. I do want the vibrate option but would like to hear four rings instead of two.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs the title says, while my phone is on silent (and even on "All Alerts Off"), my phone somehow seems to vibrate when a phone call comes in. It works perfectly fine on SMS and everything else; it's only a problem for phone calls. I have went into the profile settings and it is set to silent and vibrate off. I even have done a master reset of the phone. So I don't know what the deal is.

I've gone through the profile settings and alerts menus, and they all have vibrate set to OFF under the Silent profile. Battery pull has no effect. Anything else I should try?

I am a new Blackberry user and have been loving every minute of the 2 weeks i have spent with it up untill last Friday. I took the battery out for the first time and since putting it back in my BB now vibrates and the led light flashes yellow every 2minutes or so. Anyone that could help me rectify this will be helping a certain white BB Bold from being thrown off the balcony!

When I have my BB in my pocket, the wiggling of the trackpad instantly silences the ring when someone calls. Since I got my Bold 9700 a couple of weeks ago, I think I've missed more calls than I've received and it took me a while to figure out what is going on.
Is there a way to disable the "any button press or trackpad wiggle silences the ring" feature? I'd rather not use the holster - I got the new small BB so it would fit in my front pocket.
My wife and i have had blackberrys for 4yrs but the two new 9700 are driving me mad !! Whilst in the holster they only ring once so missing loads of calls and when you pull the device from the holster it is not locked and the settings are telling me it should be. Checked all settings and they are correct. Running V5.0.0.586 (PLATFORM 5.1.0.146).

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy BB 9700 doesn't catch the first 4-5 rings of an incoming call. It's so bad that incoming Google Voice calls go straight to Google voicemail. If I call myself, I hear 4-5 rings on the calling side before the BB begins to ring. I've changed the ringer settings from vibrate but this seems to do little.
Before this phone I had a Sony Ericcson k850 that had the same problem. Before that I had the SE k550i that did NOT have any problem. If I take that old phone and put my sim card in it now, it still has no ring lag.
So I believe it has something to do with the phone settings within the phone, though this BB is the first phone I bought that came from AT&T (branded probably). Can I change some setting for the phone to ping the towers more often? I don't see anything for slot cycle on the phone...
Been a happy Sprint user since 2005 and have used various dumb phones and smartphones. The Photon is my 3rd Android.I have noticed that each phone , whether smartphone or not, has the same issue that has caused me to miss incoming phone calls here and there - the caller dials my number and hears several rings before my phone actually starts ringing. The phone goes to voicemail before I have the opportunity to answer the phone.The solution for my phones has always been to adjust the Slot Cycle index from the default setting of 2 to the setting of 0. This causes the phone to poll towers more frequently, thus the phone is more quickly aware of a new incoming call. The only negative implication is that the phone goes through battery a bit more quickly during the day...but it's really only a tiny difference. I've done this on my phones, on my spouse's phones, my mom's phone, etc.
Since the Photon's battery life is so much better than my prior phone (EVO 4G) I am very comfortable in adjusting the Slot Cycle index, so I obtained my MSL from Sprint and attempted the adjustment by going to the Dialer:##DATA# ->tap green Dial icon -> to the Data Settings menu...tap Advanced->From there you can see that the Slotted Index is set to 2. So I wanted to change the setting but can't get to it from Menu->Edit->enter MSL code->VerifyI called Sprint about this issue, and in the past they have helped me to change the setting. I have called more than once and have been dealing with the more advanced Tech Support team. No one at Sprint can figure out how to adjust this setting on the Photon.
First off I KNOW it is not on silent.
I was adding a custom ringtone and accidentally edited vibrate and hit replace all.Now it no longer rings on any profile.and yes i did change it so it plays a ringtone again, and nothing.I even restored the profiles to yesterdays backup.and nothing works.
How do i set up the number of rings on my phone, before it goes to voicemail ? Can't find this in instruction book, or voicemail prompts on phone. My carrier is AT&T. Thanks for any help.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded the new update for my Blackberry Tour, and I have noticed that my phone is not remembering its settings (im assuming). When I have my phone holstered, it only vibrates twice and does not ring (though I have it set to Always for the ringtone) for my MMS/SMS messages. When its out of holster, it will only do the default text messing sound. I am not sure how to fix this though I have rebooted it twice in attempts for the settings.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I have owned a Black Bold 9700 for a while now and about 2 months ago I switched to a White 9700. I would always get at least one day out of my battery in my black 9700. And I was with my white 9700 as well until about 2 weeks ago.I rarely talk on my phone but I am a heavy user with BBM, text and email and a bit with Facebook which I know uses a lot of battery... I have about 90 contacts on BBM and use it constantly everyday -- chatting with 4 to 5 ppl at a time constantly. However, I'm lucky if my battery lasts from 11am until 5pm anymore. I have tried about 3 different batteries and they all have the same issue. I just upgraded my software from .743 to .862 last night.
And I switched over to a brand new OEM battery 2 days ago. I charged my phone overnight and powered it on at 11am and now at 2:14pm I'm sitting at 75% battery life.I don't have many apps on my phone besides Facebook and Weather Eye. The only apps I ever have running everyday are the ones that have to be running constantly (BBM, Phone, Browser, Messages). I rarely even browse the internet and I don't have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled. However, I am always running on 3G.
So here's the deal: every 2-3 hours or so my (somewhat new) phone vibrates in a short burst of 2-3 vibrations.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the X6. The phone rings and I unlock the keyguard using the slider on the side of the phone and the phone stops ringing. Then in order to answer the phone I press the green button on the bottom left of the phone or I press answer call on the screen and then I can speak which I suppose sounds fair enough. But I just think that something is wrong because surely the phone should continue to make the 'ringing' noise until I actually answer the call rather than going mute just because I have unlocked the keyguard.. Am I doing something wrong or is this just how the phone works?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy phone is usually set on loud, but at least once a day it randomly stops playing my text message alert sound, and when I get a text, it starts vibrating endlessly and won't stop until I check the message. It's saying that my ringtones are invalid and won't play any of them. It also won't accept picture messages while it's in this mode. I can fix it by taking the battery out and putting it back in, but then I have to wait the 10 minutes it takes to turn back on, and this gets very annoying.

I miss calls all the time at home because I don't hear it vibrate, and it only rings for about 5 seconds. View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just gotten a Bold 9700 and noticed that even though I have the option to sync the profile pictures of my friends with my contacts profiles on the phone, the pictures for my phone contacts remain blank. The Facebook profiles are linked to my contacts and sometimes will show the Facebook profile picture but after a while the picture reverts to a blank icon again. I've also unselected the option to sync and re-enabled the option to update Blackberry contacts with my Facebook contacts to try and force the pictures to update but no success.
I was thinking that it might also be because of a conflict wiyth other apps trying to update the contact pictures seeing as I originally imported all my contatcs from my Gmail account but I am unable to figure out which other apps, if any, are updating contact pics and thereby turn them off.
Blackberry contacts linked to a LinkedIn profile show their LinkedIn profile pics correctly though and other than that I only have BB Messenger, GTalk, Windows Live Messenger and Facebook that are linked to my Blackberry contacts.Any ideas on how I can get my contacts' pictures to sync correctly with Facebook?
I bought Bold 9900 today and I have checked all the settings but still when I receive any calls it only vibrates. The ringer is not working.
