Using a Nextel Curve - when a call comes in the phone vibrates first, then begins ringing. I miss calls all the time at home because I don't hear it vibrate, and it only rings for about 5 seconds. I've downloaded ringers that are 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds in length and it doesn't make a difference. Vibrate, vibrate, ring for 5 sec, missed call... Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I have a Blackberry Torch 9800 software version 6.0 with bundle 2342. All of a sudden my phone will not ring. I have tried numerous battery pulls, changing the ringtone, and changing the profile with no success. My phone is almost 2 yrs old so I believe the warranty has expired. It will still vibrate but not ring. Even when I try to switch ringtones, the "try it" feature is silent and I get no preview when I view my ringtone list. How do I get my phone to start ringing again?

My phone won't ring. it only vibrates. The volume is turned up and it will let me select a ringtone (and hear it), but when I have an incoming text or phone call it will only vibrate. It is not in airplane mode or anything.

The tab on the left hand side of the phone is switched to loud and so is the bottom icons where the up menu is hidden (near the screen orientation)Also I have checked and double checked all the settings for tones and they all work fine when I am in it, but as soon as a call comes in it only vibrates!

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone is usually set on loud, but at least once a day it randomly stops playing my text message alert sound, and when I get a text, it starts vibrating endlessly and won't stop until I check the message. It's saying that my ringtones are invalid and won't play any of them. It also won't accept picture messages while it's in this mode. I can fix it by taking the battery out and putting it back in, but then I have to wait the 10 minutes it takes to turn back on, and this gets very annoying.

Some get 8350i with a full BB data plan and some get Moto i456 with voice, PTT, MMS, and limited data (feels like GPRS). I am in the latter category. While I have absolutely no justifiable business need for a data plan I despise the crappy i465 with a passion that is difficult to describe.
I thought I would solve my problem by buying a 2nd-hand 8350i on my own dime and just popping the employer-provided SIM card in it. My hope was that I would retain what I need (voice, SMS, PTT) and be on my merry way. However, it appears that I do have voice and PTT but have lost ALL messaging capability, probably because the messaging the BB goes through their own servers and I do not have BB service.Is there any way around this dilemma? I do need both PTT and SMS, and the only two QWERTY devices with PTT capability are the 8350i and the i465.
I'm running .313 with a stock theme and no 3rd party apps. However, in the last 2 weeks, whenever I have a DC conversation longer than approximately 3 minutes without it ending, my BB locks up. The LED still flashes red, the DC info is still on the screen, but the only button that works is the power button to turn the phone off then back on. No amount of battery pulls fixes the problem.

But it has rebooted while I was unholstering to read a BBM Message, while I was reading email, once while I was using Docs to Go....Very irritating! I originally thought it was my theme because I have NEVER had good luck with themes on this phone, but removed it and still issues! So now I'm looking at BBM being the culprit but I wasn't sure if I could pinpoint the problem somehow? like using alt+lglg and finding the error in the java log? To bad I can't read jibberish! I saw a similar problem on another phone and the wiped the device and reloaded really don't wanna do that! BTW, I have not installed any new apps or updates in almost a month otherwise I'd point to that!

Well, strangely when I walk into his room with the phone in my pocket or in my hand, the TV turns on? I believe it's when it is sending data back and forth, b/c it only seems to happen then. It only turns on that TV, the others in the house don't respond at all. My 4yr old gets a kick out of it.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Curve (8530) from Verizon and within the last 24 hours my phone has gone from being fully functional to not functioning at all. First, my speakerphone stopped working, then I lost all sounds (ringing, alerts, etc) yet the vibrate setting still works, and now my trackpad has frozen to where I can't navigate the phone at all. I can still make calls by typing in the number or using my programmed numbers on the keys and I can still receive calls as well, but if I try and navigate using the trackpad, I can't move off of the sounds icon.About 4 days ago, I downloaded the new OS software when my phone prompted me to and when these problems started happening, I did a "soft" reset (alt+right shift+del) and a "hard" reset (removed the battery) which not solve any of the problems. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas about how I can fix these problems outside of going to the Verizon store and waiting hours to get help?
