Sep 7, 2010With the latest software update (V5.0.0.807), my Yahoo icon is gone. Cannot locate it.Also, after I perfomed the update, all of the preloaded and my downloaded ring tones are not recognized. States ""invalid ring tone selected, please make another selection" for every one.
Now my phone won't ring, or alert for SMS or email, or direct connect.Video camera also appears not to be functioning. Getting an error message of "Error Playing. device media processor is busy." when nothing else is running.

Apr 2, 2010When I got 8350i I liked that it had walkie-talkie feature.
Only problem is NONE of my friends have walkie-talkie, hence I cannot use it.
So if anyone out there, male/female interested in using this, hit me up.

BB Curve 8350i :: Direct Connect Contacts?
Jan 26, 2010I just updated my blackberry and I have a question. Prior to updating I used the PTT key just to turn on the backlight. Now it brings up my DC contacts. I can't find a setting to change it back. Is there a setting? (searched the forums didn't see anyone else complaining, other boards had people asking about it with no answers)
The only other problem I've seen with the update is last night I was on the phone with someone on a cell phone. The call "failed" and usually I get 3 trouble tones (like oldschool trouble tone) except the tone kept going until I shut the phone off.
BB Curve 8350i :: Direct Connect Sound
Jan 9, 2010lets say i have my direct connect speaker on, whenever im not using it and i get a call, i can hear the "beep-beep" sound loud (it also vibrates because of the settings i have), but when i have the speaker off, i cant hear it because the sound is also set to private (speaker off), how can i make it to get the voice of the person private but at the same time make the "beep-beep" sound loud (like in speaker on)?

Jan 26, 2010I've looked in some older threads and had no luck, thus I come to you with a brand spanking new thread! I have a Blackberry 8350i with Nextel Direct Connect through Sprint/Nextel.
Where I work, we are regularly using the direct connect to keep in touch with coworkers. As a result, a couple of issues have come up (and from what I've seen, I'm not alone)... I'm wondering if there are any solutions for these:
1] Direct Send My Info - Shows up every time someone tries to contact me via DC. Most of our employees still use the motorola i335 (or older models), so it may be something they have no control over. However, given how often the direct connect is in use, it means I receive 50-100 of these messages a day that have no substance.
2] Contact Issues - It appears that there is some disconnect between contacts and the direct connect feature. I have contacts stored (via Contacts App) with their direct connect numbers included. However, when they come up as having called on DC, their names do not come up. In addition, it seems that, on several occasions, my direct connect list outright vanishes. This is only mildly frustrating when 100 contacts are stored. It seems as though the DC contacts are not connected to the BB contacts.

Feb 12, 2010Anyone know how to set the direct connect to auto default another direct connect phone? sorry I am so new to blackberry period, I have had all moto phones since it started. I am not likeing it too much cause the battery for life for me sucks, I still have time to return my 8350i which I am seriously thinking on doing.
I am a truck driver and I find it very hard to use compared to my I880 which I have my dc connect automatically to my dispatch, battery life barely lasts me the day. I am told the battery life on blackberry's are suppose to be great.Is there settings I should need to tweek on it?

Feb 24, 2010I know there are other threads like this, but after a few hours of searching I cannot find a solution for my problem, so I am left with creating a new thred (sorry). I have a Nextel 8350i on boost. This morning, I reinstalled the combined3 service books, and now no internet, or app that accesses internet will work. I get the unable to connect message when I try to connect using my data plan and when I try to connect on wifi as well. I am able to place and receive calls, i can use direct connect, and i can send and receive texts as well, its just the internet is not working with data or wifi. My current OS is v4.6.1.313 any suggetions?

Aug 27, 2010Not too long ago my employer rolled out a two-tiered phone Nextel service for employees. Some get 8350i with a full BB data plan and some get Moto i456 with voice, PTT, MMS, and limited data (feels like GPRS). I am in the latter category. While I have absolutely no justifiable business need for a data plan I despise the crappy i465 with a passion that is difficult to describe.
I thought I would solve my problem by buying a 2nd-hand 8350i on my own dime and just popping the employer-provided SIM card in it. My hope was that I would retain what I need (voice, SMS, PTT) and be on my merry way. However, it appears that I do have voice and PTT but have lost ALL messaging capability, probably because the messaging the BB goes through their own servers and I do not have BB service.Is there any way around this dilemma? I do need both PTT and SMS, and the only two QWERTY devices with PTT capability are the 8350i and the i465.
BB Curve 8350i :: DC Locks Up Phone
Mar 18, 2010I'm running .313 with a stock theme and no 3rd party apps. However, in the last 2 weeks, whenever I have a DC conversation longer than approximately 3 minutes without it ending, my BB locks up. The LED still flashes red, the DC info is still on the screen, but the only button that works is the power button to turn the phone off then back on. No amount of battery pulls fixes the problem.

Mar 18, 2010So for the past three days or so I have been having trouble with my phone rebooting itself while I'm working with it? Not in phone calls. But it has rebooted while I was unholstering to read a BBM Message, while I was reading email, once while I was using Docs to Go....Very irritating! I originally thought it was my theme because I have NEVER had good luck with themes on this phone, but removed it and still issues! So now I'm looking at BBM being the culprit but I wasn't sure if I could pinpoint the problem somehow? like using alt+lglg and finding the error in the java log? To bad I can't read jibberish! I saw a similar problem on another phone and the wiped the device and reloaded really don't wanna do that! BTW, I have not installed any new apps or updates in almost a month otherwise I'd point to that!

Aug 5, 2010Just thought I would share this, thought it was kinda of funny.So in my sons room he has a older TV/VCR combo, a sylvania tube model. Well, strangely when I walk into his room with the phone in my pocket or in my hand, the TV turns on? I believe it's when it is sending data back and forth, b/c it only seems to happen then. It only turns on that TV, the others in the house don't respond at all. My 4yr old gets a kick out of it.

Jun 26, 2010Having a problem with my phone it is a 8350i i was messing around with the settings iam honestley i am not to familiar with the phone and now i can not hear a dial tone,the speaker phone works fine i thought it was the speaker i changed it with a new one today so that was not the problem the contacts are clean and not bent in the chassis mid plate. when i make a call no one can hear me except for when i activate the speaker.

May 12, 2010Using a Nextel Curve - when a call comes in the phone vibrates first, then begins ringing. I miss calls all the time at home because I don't hear it vibrate, and it only rings for about 5 seconds. I've downloaded ringers that are 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds in length and it doesn't make a difference. Vibrate, vibrate, ring for 5 sec, missed call... Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I tried calling boost mobile to get puk code which i got but mssg stated unable to change pin. i cant for the life of me get the mobile network to come on. All it does is vibrate and make the low beep, the tone that lets you know the other person is done talking. Nov 4, 2011Excited to finally replace my old I860 iden phone with a new smartphone, I got the Admiral. Maybe I am missing something, but the direct connect feature is basically unusable when there is any background noise. There has to be a way to make this louder, If I play music on the phone, its plenty loud, if I use the speaker phone for a normal call, again plenty loud, but if I try to direct connect someone, I have to hold the phone up to my ear and then I can barely hear them when driving in a truck. I love the phone, and unless I am missing a setting, the volume makes it unusable for me.
