May 21, 2010How come sometimes when i recieve a call from a person whos number is saved in my contacts there number will just come up and not the name?

The issue isn't with MY INFO being sent out, I found the options to stop that. What is driving me CRAZY is, only on certain phones, and even if the person is all ready saved in my contacts, I STILL KEEP RECEIVING AUTO SEND MY INFO MESSAGES, EVEN FROM STORED CONTACTS, AND IT IS VERY ANNOYING!
BB Curve 8350i :: When Sending SMS Can't Type In Name Contact?
Feb 8, 2010When I create a sms message and in the To: field when i start typing the perons name it should come up, well only about 5 or 6 of my contacts will appear when their name is typed, the rest of my contacts I have to go to choose contact then go thourgh my address book and pick someone.
How do I get it so that all my contatcs can be searched by just typing their name?

Jan 11, 2010This has probably been covered, but i recently went to update OS to the 5.0, but while it was loading, the thing crashed and said a fatal error had occured. i had to go back to an older version, 4.6 i think, and now my contacts will not go in the contact list. I see them on my sim card, but when i try to copy all contacts to my contact list, it copies 1 contact, 8 times. its the damndest thing i have ever seen. i did not do a backup before the new install, my fault, but now i cannot get my contacts in my list. Has anyone had this problem or even heard of such. I called tech support, the only thing they said was it was probably a bad sim card, and to take it to the local repair store.

Jul 18, 2010Is there a way to activate caller ID for my BB contact list? I just switched from a Samsung, on that phone I had caller ID for all the contacts in my contact list. My Blackberry doesn't seem to do this. As long as I had someone in my contact list their info was displayed when they called. Numbers that weren't in my contact list/phonebook would show as just the number-which is fine. Is there a way to have the BB do this as well? Its very frustrating as I have no idea who is calling me... If the info is already in the phone there should be a way to have that displayed when people call.

Apr 24, 2012As I was scrolling through my recent messages my iPhone 3GS suddenly removed all the contact names from the list of messages and replaced them with their corresponding phone numbers. All I was doing was scrolling through the message list... no settings were changed. After this happened I checked my contacts list, and everything appears to be intact there. However, my phone app also no longer shows the contact name, but just the phone number. Turning the device off then on did nothing. How could this happen as I'm using the device, without me changing any settings on the phone. It makes absolutely no sense at all!

BB Curve :: Text Messages Not Displaying Contact Names
Aug 16, 2012When I go into the text messages app, it only shows the current day's messages and the time that I received them. No contact name, no number. I've played around with it a bit, but cant figure out where to even begin addressing this.
I recently switched out my Curve 9350 under warranty, since the old one was overheating and draining the battery. The first one I had didn't have this issue, from the get-go it showed contact names, pictures, and broke the messages down into days, but I could scroll and view all of them. My new one has only shown my text messages in the way I described above.
BB Curve :: Contact Names Not Displaying During Calls But Visible In Log
Aug 7, 2011Many names in the address book not showing up. Hence, when I get a call or make one, the name doesn't come up with the number. After the call, the number with the name is visible in call log as outgoing or incoming or missed. In the database details it shows my address book having 238 numbers (these are the numbers currently visible). So how is it that the names are visible in the log and not in the address book and also not visible during a call.

IPhone :: Receiving Contact Call Voice But Not Sending?
May 14, 2012With my iPhone 4, when I make or receive phone calls, I can hear the other person,but they cannot hear me. Apps like Pandora, iTunes, Voice Memos, and Shazam all work fine as far as playing music and recording sounds.Does anyone have any suggestions? One thought I had was to get a bluetooth phone set.

Jun 6, 2012So I copy pasted these fancy patterns that I saw in peoples names on bbm, but I copy pasted them from the internet, and after I did that, I noticed that icons had changed in the peoples names, and in place of certain icons there are these wierd oval black icons with writing under it, it also appears when I type in my password for my gmail account. So far I am aware that these bullet dots, - , have been changed into this icon, I've tried reseting the phone and switching it on and off but nothing works. BB Curve 8520/8530 :: Contact Names Disappeared From List / Only Numbers Are Left
Feb 5, 2010I have had the Curve 8530 for about a week, and I noticed today that the majority of my contact list has disappeared. I started with almost 250 names, now I have about 25. Everything from A-D is gone, and about 75% of everything after that, just random names deleted. Also, when I pull up the contact list, I have to scroll down through a bunch of empty lines before I can see the numbers that are left, like all the deleted contacts are still there, just hidden. But if I search for names that aren't showing up, it doesn't find anything. I've tried a battery pull, and all that happened was the empty spaces in the list disappeared. I really don't want to have to reload my contacts every few days.

Jul 12, 2010I have a wierd SMS problem with a couple of BB Curve 8900s. For some reason on this model SMS's are showing as coming from 1 contact (when there are a lot more) and when you hit reply it replies to that 1 contact and not to the person who actually sent it. I can't see any problems in the settings that could be causing this. Obviously the last thing I want to do is rebuild the devices so can anyone think of what might be causing this?

BB Curve 8350i :: Phone Without BB Service?
Aug 27, 2010Not too long ago my employer rolled out a two-tiered phone Nextel service for employees. Some get 8350i with a full BB data plan and some get Moto i456 with voice, PTT, MMS, and limited data (feels like GPRS). I am in the latter category. While I have absolutely no justifiable business need for a data plan I despise the crappy i465 with a passion that is difficult to describe.
I thought I would solve my problem by buying a 2nd-hand 8350i on my own dime and just popping the employer-provided SIM card in it. My hope was that I would retain what I need (voice, SMS, PTT) and be on my merry way. However, it appears that I do have voice and PTT but have lost ALL messaging capability, probably because the messaging the BB goes through their own servers and I do not have BB service.Is there any way around this dilemma? I do need both PTT and SMS, and the only two QWERTY devices with PTT capability are the 8350i and the i465.
BB Curve 8350i :: DC Locks Up Phone
Mar 18, 2010I'm running .313 with a stock theme and no 3rd party apps. However, in the last 2 weeks, whenever I have a DC conversation longer than approximately 3 minutes without it ending, my BB locks up. The LED still flashes red, the DC info is still on the screen, but the only button that works is the power button to turn the phone off then back on. No amount of battery pulls fixes the problem.

Mar 18, 2010So for the past three days or so I have been having trouble with my phone rebooting itself while I'm working with it? Not in phone calls. But it has rebooted while I was unholstering to read a BBM Message, while I was reading email, once while I was using Docs to Go....Very irritating! I originally thought it was my theme because I have NEVER had good luck with themes on this phone, but removed it and still issues! So now I'm looking at BBM being the culprit but I wasn't sure if I could pinpoint the problem somehow? like using alt+lglg and finding the error in the java log? To bad I can't read jibberish! I saw a similar problem on another phone and the wiped the device and reloaded really don't wanna do that! BTW, I have not installed any new apps or updates in almost a month otherwise I'd point to that!
