When I create a sms message and in the To: field when i start typing the perons name it should come up, well only about 5 or 6 of my contacts will appear when their name is typed, the rest of my contacts I have to go to choose contact then go thourgh my address book and pick someone.
How do I get it so that all my contatcs can be searched by just typing their name?
For the past week I've been having problems sending Text Messaging. I notice if I reboot the phone then I get my messages. But not for very long. It will just stop working again.Is anyone else having this problem? I have the latest OS.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis has probably been covered, but i recently went to update OS to the 5.0, but while it was loading, the thing crashed and said a fatal error had occured. i had to go back to an older version, 4.6 i think, and now my contacts will not go in the contact list. I see them on my sim card, but when i try to copy all contacts to my contact list, it copies 1 contact, 8 times. its the damndest thing i have ever seen. i did not do a backup before the new install, my fault, but now i cannot get my contacts in my list. Has anyone had this problem or even heard of such. I called tech support, the only thing they said was it was probably a bad sim card, and to take it to the local repair store.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to activate caller ID for my BB contact list? I just switched from a Samsung, on that phone I had caller ID for all the contacts in my contact list. My Blackberry doesn't seem to do this. As long as I had someone in my contact list their info was displayed when they called. Numbers that weren't in my contact list/phonebook would show as just the number-which is fine. Is there a way to have the BB do this as well? Its very frustrating as I have no idea who is calling me... If the info is already in the phone there should be a way to have that displayed when people call.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to OS 5 on the Tour and noticed the whole messaging functionality has changed a lot. With the old OS I could select an email and choose to forward. Then in the To: field I could start typing a contact's name from the address book and it would autocomplete the user and let me choose the address I wanted. Now with OS 5.0 when i type in the contact's name nothing happens. And there is no option to select from a contact list. What am I missing? It shouldn't be this hard to send messages with the new OS, right?

Used to be, typing the beginning of a name from the Home screen brought up matches in the Contacts list so you could easily call them.Now when I type a name, other apps (mail,texts, etc) will display matches, but nothing from contacts. Indeed, dialing from the Home screen doesn't work at all -- I can't even type in a number.
I have a Bold 9700 running 5.0.0.545 with bell mobility. When I upgraded to this version I am no longer able to type in a contact name from the home screen to dial them. I now have to go into the address book, then type their name. I can only enter numbers directly from the home screen. Is anyone else having this issue?

When I search for a contact through the head unit, it will load the entire (huge) list of contacts and allow me to navigate through the headunit to a contact to make a call (very clunky - SOny's poor design). So, it sees the contact list successfully. The head unit allows for me to enter six presets contacts into a list of popular numbers for easy access, but after the head unit is set to accept an addition to this presets list (it displays "waiting" prompt on the display), I need to know how to "Send the phonebook data by operating the cellular phone" as the SOny instruction manual says to do. I've contacted Sony support, and reviewed the pdf iPhone 4s manual (as well as these discussions), with no luck. It seems it should be under Contacts > select individual contact > Share Contact, but that only gives the option to share via Email or Message (sms), not Bluetooth.

With my iPhone 4, when I make or receive phone calls, I can hear the other person,but they cannot hear me. Apps like Pandora, iTunes, Voice Memos, and Shazam all work fine as far as playing music and recording sounds.Does anyone have any suggestions? One thought I had was to get a bluetooth phone set.

Today he walked into RadioShack and BestBuy and both of these retail stores told him that the Nextel 8350i Blackberry had been discontinued. That they no longer carried them in their stores, but that that he could still find them at Sprint locations. They stated the reason as having too many issues. I'm thinking that the retail stores were getting too many returns and possibly decided to stop selling them ("discontinuing them"). I went to sprint website and they are still selling them.

Some get 8350i with a full BB data plan and some get Moto i456 with voice, PTT, MMS, and limited data (feels like GPRS). I am in the latter category. While I have absolutely no justifiable business need for a data plan I despise the crappy i465 with a passion that is difficult to describe.
I thought I would solve my problem by buying a 2nd-hand 8350i on my own dime and just popping the employer-provided SIM card in it. My hope was that I would retain what I need (voice, SMS, PTT) and be on my merry way. However, it appears that I do have voice and PTT but have lost ALL messaging capability, probably because the messaging the BB goes through their own servers and I do not have BB service.Is there any way around this dilemma? I do need both PTT and SMS, and the only two QWERTY devices with PTT capability are the 8350i and the i465.
I have a BB 8350i and the usb port is broken. I have already ordered a new one and have the phone tore apart. Now what? I am looking at this thing and I am stumped.Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm at my wits end!

However, in the last 2 weeks, whenever I have a DC conversation longer than approximately 3 minutes without it ending, my BB locks up. The LED still flashes red, the DC info is still on the screen, but the only button that works is the power button to turn the phone off then back on. No amount of battery pulls fixes the problem.
