BB Curve :: Icon Changed After Copy Paste Contact Names

So I copy pasted these fancy patterns that I saw in peoples names on bbm, but I copy pasted them from the internet, and after I did that, I noticed that icons had changed in the peoples names, and in place of certain icons there are these wierd oval black icons with writing under it, it also appears when I type in my password for my gmail account. So far I am aware that these bullet dots, - , have been changed into this icon, I've tried reseting the phone and switching it on and off but nothing works. Do you know what the problem might be, and how I would go about sorting it out?
