I cannot get Copy & Paste to work on my iPhone or my iPad since updating to iOS 5.1
I can copy and paste within an app, buy copying from one app, then going into another, Paste is not available.
I have tried rebooting both devices but no change.
I have a problem with the ics update,,the copy paste function from GB wont work on ICS..or is there another way on how to activate it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy mind was blown this morning when I plugged it in to charge (was down to 3%), and I went to have a shower, breakfast, watched the news, came back up and saw it at 97%.There's so many features I could sit here and praise, but that will take forever, so I just wanted to point out one tiny feature that's puzzled me. I remember in the iphone 2G days, everyone was saying "where the f is cut and paste or copying or whatever"... and I've followed the news long enough to know that it's been added, but i'm not quite sure how it works.Like last night for example, I was browsing the net in Safari when i accidently touched something and a little box appeared that say Cut/Copy/.I wasn't sure how to replicate it, so could someone here kindly tell me how to use this wonderful feature?

I added a contact to my phone book from a text message i received from someone. it put their phone number under work instead of mobile. so i copied it and pasted it. But now i can figure out how to clear that out. whenever i text someone or what not, it keeps saying paste and still has that person's number in there. is there a way to clear out the copied info so that paste doesn't show up all the time. i have a blackberry bold 9700.

I read that the standard Android keyboard shortcuts for cut/copy/paste are menu+x, menu+c, menu+v. These shortcuts, however, do not work on my Xperia Pro. If these are indeed meant to be the standard Android shortcuts, then please could SE implement them?

Then it turns dark gray and 2 blackie tabs appers on both side of the text. That´s all I could do. If I hit the highlighted text once again in order to get copy option on it disappears! If I hit those blackie tabs nothing happens.... If I pressed check sign (in Upper Left corner) then highlight would be gone. I don´t get this - iPhone was so easy to use compared to this one..

So for instance, if someone texts me "Hey call bill at 555-8999, he is a great mechanic!" it's impossible to just select the phone number. Ever since the Gingerbread update, the highlighting and copy & paste function is totally broken and unreliable. I can hardly able to select the text I want to highlight or able to move the cursor around. I am very dissapointed in this Gingerbread upgrade.

It then asks me "select word or select all". for argument sake let's say I say "select all" If I want to copy this I now have to long press the area agtain.My proposed solution is once you make the first selection, the phone needs to auto-populate the box asking you if you want to COPY, or CUT etc.I mena why wouldn't it? There is NO reason you would ever just want to highlight a section without the next step. I know this may seem silly, but little functions like this add up, and these type of things is what sets the ease of use of a phone to the next level.
