Of recent, sometimes when I'm using L1520, the display begins to vibrate (shake). Like everything starts shaking but not like the phone itself is vibrating or anything.
View 4 RepliesI have a flickering display problem on my Nokia Lumia 1520 which makes the phone totally unuseable because when the flickering starts, all the buttons on the screen become frozen and half the time this happens I'm forced to power off the phone after which it works as it should for a while, then the flickering starts again. Is this a hardware or software issue?Please check this video of the flickering.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm relatively new to using the lumia 1520, and have just about got my start screen setup how I like it with tiles. However one thing that is bugging me, is that I can't appear to change the text size displayed in the calendar tile on my start screen. Is this normal?
I've messed with text slider in ease of access to see if this would improve things, which it does in other apps & internet explorer, but it doesn't appear to have any effect on the text size displayed in the calendar tile. If this is the norm, do you think that the size of text in the calendar tile may be able to be changed in a update. I'm running official 8.1.
There is always at least a 1 second lag between the time an event happens (phone ringing, message received, alarm sounding, etc.) and the time the screen actually lights up. So, when my phone is sitting next to me, when one of those things happens, I hover my finger over the screen for a second and wait for it to light up so I can do anything. I used to have an HTC 8x and the screen would always light up immediately.

View 8 Replies View RelatedUsing a Nextel Curve - when a call comes in the phone vibrates first, then begins ringing. I miss calls all the time at home because I don't hear it vibrate, and it only rings for about 5 seconds. I've downloaded ringers that are 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds in length and it doesn't make a difference. Vibrate, vibrate, ring for 5 sec, missed call... Can anyone point me in the right direction?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just added a 32GB SD card to my Lumia 1520. I'd like to move some of the items that are on my phone (photos, music, files for work, etc.) onto the card.
Also, I've seen threads on here that mention issues with music that has been moved to the cards not being playable. I have enough issues with my phone giving error messages on the music app now without adding another complication.
I have my Lumia 1520 set to snap both the 5MP jpg and high-res 15mp jpg for each photo. Up until today I would save the high-res versions to my PC, and keep the low-res versions on my phone for quick viewing. I recently reset the phone, knowing I would lose all my low-res photos, but thinking I would simply copy the larger versions from my PC over to my new 128GB Micro SD.
I realized upon doing this though that the phone's Photos app does not recognize any of the high-res photos. In retrospect this makes sense, as when taking a photo it only shows the lower-res copy. But I guess for some reason I thought the high-res versions would show up if manually copied back.
Long story short, I have lost all my low-res photos, any method to get the Photos app to recognize the higher-res copies. I'm unsure how the phone even knows the difference, as the high-res copies seem to be standard JPGs.
I just went to watch a video on my 1520 and the sound won't work. I've tried restarting it multiple times but to no avail. When i push the volume rocker, only the head phone slider appears. I I've plugged head phones in and they don't work either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently screwed my phone by placing the phone in window for network coverage during rain. As the rain water spilled over it and few drops got it and brought me some weird issue.
1) Capacitive lights are not working . Only back arrow light didn't work.
2) Mic also not working.
I take it to Nokia care and got it fixed without warranty since it is two year old.And the technician told be that he changed many spare parts and he make use of 1320 spare and got it fixed. And now I feel my phone is getting very hot while charging and warm during normal usage in the top right corner of back side. I don't see heating issue on my other Lumia 1320 and 640 xl
Here are the points....
Only charges when plugged in, slow charging notification pops up.
No new hardware "ding" sound.
No new devices in device manager.
No devices with exclamation mark in device manager.
No unknown or unrecognized devices in device manager.
No devices listed in usb-view
Background : I was on Windows 10 build 10581. Upgraded to 10586. All fine.
Phone showed up and everything. However I wanted to go back to 8.1, so I started up the Windows Device Recovery Tool. It asked for a mandatory update. Updated. It recognized my phone (which was on). Started downloading server side software. I ran out of battery (the laptop), and it shut down. After starting up again, the phone is unrecognizable.
I unintsalled Windows Device Recovery Tool and tried to install again. Error. Several times. Finally after cleaning up everything related to it (RevoUninstaller), I managed to install it again. However, my phone still never is recognized. Uninstalled all Nokia/Microsoft drivers (no luck).
I bought a Lumia 1520.3 from B&H and I cut my sim card down from a micro sim to a nano sim. I know it still works because I put it back in my 920. It says on my 1520.3 says no service in the live tile.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to cyan 8.1 two days ago... Did a fresh install. I downgraded to Windows 8 and then install cyan. I DID NOT backup my apps, instead I just installed each app one by one.
Only problem i have is that if my phone is charged past 89% it turns off by itself and i have to hit the power button to power it up. (It only turns off by itself if i leave it alone... but when i'm using it, it works fine.)
I have the unlocked 1520 from Latin America. It came with Cyan out of the box and I installed preview for developers and updated. Trouble is, it doesn't say that I have Denim, yet I have the live app folders feature.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy phone was running hot, so I decided to shut it down to cool. Instead of shutting down, though, it rebooted. When it was done, I waited a minute, and tried again. Reboot. Again. Reboot. Finally, decided to try a soft reset and that seemed to fix it. This isn't the first time it decided not to shutdown and restarted instead, but first time it did it three times in a row. At least the soft reset worked. 1520 on 8.1 DP -- hoping the "official" rollout takes care of these little issues.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI received a Nokia 1520.3 that was swapped by Nokia service center yesterday. My old model was Nokia RM-938_Ita_Ita_905 which work fine expect white dots; the new model is Nokia RM-938_nam_canada_104.
The first thing I notice is that my new phone doesn't recognize the T-Mobile LTE, in the Setting, the maximum connection speed is only 3G which I used getting LTE. I also exchanged the SIM card in the T-Mobile store, still the same.
Another thing is, cannot update to Windows phone 8.1. I tried Hard reset, soft reset, use the Nokia Recovery Tool... still cannot get windows phone 8.1 update.
I dropped my Lumina 1520 over the weekend and trashed the screen and digitizer. Somewhat of a shock as it was less than a foot drop and I have the screen and the back protected with Ghost Armor. In any event, I have a new 1520 on the way.
My question is this. How do you transfer the device settings to the new phone? I have the option set to back it up to One Drive. I have not been successful finding a way to "restore" or download those settings.
After Cyan Update new pictures, screen shots, podcasts Whats app Pics, etc all getting stored on phone? Even Music purchased went to phone!

View 8 Replies View Relatedso I have an odd problem with a 1520. It's been updated to 8.1 Cyan OTA and everything was fine. I reset it (the usual way in Settings / About / Reset Your Phone) but now any lumia-specific settings are no longer available, so no options for motion data, or glance, etc etc.
Nokia Recovery Tool, I don't have a windows PC, so I can't go down that route.
My phone was working very well since my purchase in November and suddenly after downloading an update for the Realtor app it wont charge! I've uninstalled and it still will not charge. The windows icon actually just started flashing and now the phone is completely dead.
