I've recently picked up a 1520 and am now wondering which camera App to use. I haven't taken many pictures in the past but that is likely to change since I will be travelling a lot soon (which admittedly was the main reason to pick up a new device).
View 6 RepliesAfter using the phone for playing a game or some other cpu intensive app the phone gets hot. I noticed the camera will not work until the phone has cooled off. Everything else works except the camera in this situation.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded, recently, to a flash new 1520 and I absolutely love it! So big, clear and brilliant to use. However I have just discovered, this morning, that I cannot fix or set the camera function in one particular area.
I noticed that a 5mp photo gets saved along with a high-def photo when I use the Pro Cam - which I don't want to stop using because I love it - but when I went into the settings of it, I found that I cannot only keep the high-def photo alone, it is either the small res photo alone or the small and high def together and that's it, I cannot just save the high-def photo alone and if I delete the photo, they both delete.
Is there any way I can just save the high-def photo alone, by downloading an app of some sort? Would a photo file manager work? I just don't see the point in putting such a fabulous camera on a phone and having it automatically set with such odd options.
So I installed the Lumia camera app. Pictures work but video does not. I uninstalled and went back to Lumia camerra classic. Video now no longer works in the classic app. But, video does work with the ms camera app.

Just noticed that my front facing cam isn't working when I toggle it in the menu, both on phone's cam and Nokia cam. The screen appears black momentarily, and then it revert to homescreen.
I am not sure if it was this way when on W8.0 'cos I didn't test it then.
Recently I've been taking pictures with my 1520 camera and noticed the image was shaking. At first I thought I was shaking so I put it in a tripod and it was doing the same thing. I'm running dev pre 8.1.

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust come back to my 1520 yesterday and updated it to Cyan 8.1 which means the current version of Nokia Camera, however, Ive noticed that the focus ring, which normally flashes as its focusing when you depress the camera button half way, sometimes just appears on-screen and no longer looks as if its focusing, but as if its already focussed and ready to take the shot. I have to close Nokia camera and re-open it again so it focusses, but any shots after the `st one.. the focus ring is just solid.
The Windows Camera still focuses as does ProShot.. however, I want to use Living Images in storyteller.Does this have anything to do with this "Burst Shot" thats supposed to be in the camera.
i recently got the cyan update for my NL lumia 1520 (yes we have it!)and just since a few days i have been experiencing problems with the stock camera.there is this wonderful feature called <<tap to take photo>> (its been around since wp7)normally you tap the screen, it places a nice square around the place you tapped, it focusses on that spot and then takes a photo.now it just skips the focus and square part and just takes the picture.
this still isnt that bad, cuz of the lumia camera (lumia right, at least the nokia one with recropping and stuff) but whenever i want to take a shot from whatsapp it opens up the stock camera app and it takes bad pictures all over again!its horrible! i didnt spend over 500$ to have a device that cant take proper pictures!and i know its not the cyan update in general because my brother has the 925 and now problems.
i want try record video on tv with lumia 1520, but 80% color video is bleu. what is best config with lumia camera for record ?

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I've been having this issue for a while now, and can't seem to figure out what's causing it. I mainly noticed it after downloading the 8.1 update, but I frequently have issues with the camera freezing when taking pictures. What happens is I will let the autofocus do it's thing, and then when I press the shutter, the autofocus thing stays on the screen, and nothing happens. I've figured out that if I just give it time, it will eventually snap the photo, but no photo is ever saved in the camera roll. I thought it was a thing with my SD card, but it happens when I open the camera fresh too, and not only in taking pictures one after another.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo today I went to take some pictures on my 1520 and they all came out blurry. Verifying my phone I discovered that the camera is at fault shaking drastically. I can see from the rear of the phone that when I activate the camera in any app that uses it, it start jumping all around as if the electronic stabilization has gone bad. I did a restart with no luck. I do have a 2 year warrantee with the ms store so it wont be a problem to exchange. But I just don't want to have to redownload everything again.

What are the best settings to use on my 1520 for photographing fireworks. I prefer the built in app, and I am on 8. If there is a better suited app, I am open to that as well.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe camera is beast when I click in shadows, night or other places. But when it comes to sunlight, it fails badly. I've tried multiple settings but it just don't work. Due to photo editing apps in Lumia. They are best editing apps & I'm able to correct them though it.
When I click a photo of someone in sunlight, it puts yellow tint all over him and everywhere else. Skin colour also changes to full yellowish.
I never experienced this with my 920, but it's happening frequently on my 1520.

Here's the issue, every time I attempt to take a picture using the camera button in the right side of the phone using the Nokia Camera app, my Lumia 1520 will start taking pictures non-stop other unless I exit the app to stop it. Now if I take the picture using the Nokia Camera app on-screen button the phone will only take a single picture. I remember that this problem was not present when I got my Lumia 1520 in January of this year. My thinking is that this problem has to do with a software update to the Nokia Camera app.
My mom has a 1520 that has a front camera not working. Whenever she opens the camera app, wechat, skype using the front camera the screen is just black. Is this a hardware issue?

Also, I've seen threads on here that mention issues with music that has been moved to the cards not being playable. I have enough issues with my phone giving error messages on the music app now without adding another complication.
