While I'm not a huge photo taker, I find it really annoying to snap one and have this purple tint above it. I've noticed that my camera cover has tiny scratches in the center. I'm pretty sure that's what is causing the purple tint maybe the reflection of the light.
View 23 RepliesJust upgraded, recently, to a flash new 1520 and I absolutely love it! So big, clear and brilliant to use. However I have just discovered, this morning, that I cannot fix or set the camera function in one particular area.
I noticed that a 5mp photo gets saved along with a high-def photo when I use the Pro Cam - which I don't want to stop using because I love it - but when I went into the settings of it, I found that I cannot only keep the high-def photo alone, it is either the small res photo alone or the small and high def together and that's it, I cannot just save the high-def photo alone and if I delete the photo, they both delete.
Is there any way I can just save the high-def photo alone, by downloading an app of some sort? Would a photo file manager work? I just don't see the point in putting such a fabulous camera on a phone and having it automatically set with such odd options.
I was taking some low light pictures over the last few days and it seems that some of them are still plagued with the green tint issue that some users have been talking about for many months. I have attached two samples to show what I am talking about. I am a Lumia 1520 user with Cyan update. The sample shots were night time pictures on tripod with low ISO and long exposure time.

On the horizontal shot, please check the area slightly above the middle, you should notice a green line going across the picture and then everything below that has a greenish tint to it. For the other picture, you should see two vertical lines at the top of the picture near the middle a bit above the statue. I used both ProShot and Nokia Camera and they both showed the same issue so I don't think it is a software issue but rather more of a hardware or firmware problem. Not all low light pictures I took has the issue though which makes it more bizarre. I doubt it is the camera module on my phone because my daylight pictures are fine and many of my low light pictures are good (or at least the tint is not noticeable).
Okay, so camera always worked perfectly. Yesterday received KitKat update 4.4.2 and now in low light conditions my camera has a purple hue.
This is not a hardware issue. It is clearly a software issue and the 4.4.2 KitKat update appears to be garbage. My girlfriend has the exact same issue since updating to 4.4.2.
What are the best settings to use on my 1520 for photographing fireworks. I prefer the built in app, and I am on 8. If there is a better suited app, I am open to that as well.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have noticed in low-light photos, in both Superior Auto and Manual mode that there is a blue tint on the edges of low light photos, especially more on the left side. The only way I've noticed I can really mitigate it is if I lower the ISO on manual mode, but then the photos would end up being too dark.
I have seen this issue discussed on other forums; some say it is a hardware issue, some software, and others say a camera module replacement may fix it. But I don't think Sony has officially ever acknowledged this issue, even though it is definitely present.

I have an Xperia Z2 updated with android 4.4.4. When I try to take pictures at night I just get purple photos. This started just a few weeks ago out of nowhere. Let me say that the lens is not dirty nor blocked by anything. I don't have a case. I have just restored the phone today with Sony PC Companion and still the same issue.

The colors on the screen vary depending on how the screen is angled. The colors vary from purple, green, and pink tint. I've tried turning my phone on and off as well as resetting it, and nothing is working. The color tint is just in the middle of my screen from the top to the bottom of my screen; not on the sides, however it is still very hard to see my pictures in my gallery or even use social networking sites or anything for that matter.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI finally bought a N8 and receved it yesterday after wanting to get one for a year now. I had always held back as I was hoping they would sort the purple screen issue out. I specifically wanted to buy a phone from a proper Australian dealer as I wanted it to be A tick and have 24months warrenty. First thing I did when I got the phone was charge it, turn it on to the analogue clock screen saver, lock the screen and then press the menu/home key. There it was, half the clock was purple! So I was sure I had the fault I was hoping not to get. I was gutted/disappointed. I really thought it could not happen to me. I have not even put my sim card in, used the phone or removed the protective shipping stickers yet
I do not know how to tell the age/build date of my N8 but when I ordered it last week, the dealer was out of stock and had to get new stock In from Nokia in Brisbane I believe. The box/packing looked the same as what I had seen 12 months ago. The phone did not have Anna on it. I do know that the latest N8 from Hong Kong are shipping in newer packaging that show the pink coloured N8 on the box.
I spoke to the shop today and they said this was the first time they had heard of this purple screen issue and that they have had no one else mention it to them. I could not believe it as this is a world wide spread issue. They rang Nokia in Brisbane and Nokia supposedly knew nothing about the 'faulty purple screen' issue. So they are either denying it and there is this huge cover up or they have honestly never heard of it.
Since the shop said it was news to them, maybe that's a good thing and I got 1 in 100 faulty one or something. I know this shop has sold about 37 on ebay plus more from their online shop and retail shop too, so if what they are saying is right, then all those buyers must be happy. I actually bought it from their online store and not on ebay. It gives me hope that mine may have been a one off, but i doubt it.
So I am trying to work out what to do. I think I have every right to get the phone swapped for a new one. Its definitely faulty but what do I do if they send it to Nokia in Brisbane and they say its fine?
-What I want to know is how have other Australian buyers delt with the faulty screen issue here? Has Nokia Australia officially acknowelged the problem? has anyone made them aware of it? Are there any known online shops in Australia selling good nokia N8's with known good screens? Has anyone had a screen replaced with a good one recently? I believe there is a new one with part number MP40 that fixes the purple tint screen, but i have only hear of people in europe getting this screen.
I specifically want to know information and experiences and opinions from Australian N8 buyers and owners who have bought a N8 with pruple screen fault in Australia.
just bought it today, no more stock to exchange throughout Malaysia, now I've to go to NCC to get it fixed the purple screen... WTH! it's a repeated problem, it already haunted many N8 (including one of the 2 I own), now this one again... quality dropped..

Inarguably, I've adjusted the settings on my Lumia 1520 to save both a 5MP and a highly resoluted picture. Also, the automatic OneDrive upload is enabled. However, the pictures on OneDrive seem not to be the highly resoluted ones. There are files to be found with something like "_high" on my Lumia 1520 but transferring them manually is painstaking as they are among many other different files (e.g. thumbnails).
I tried,so many photography apps..certain apps good,but,the problem is,when we save after we make editing in that apps, they save my photo in low resolution..
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt makes no difference which Nokia "Camera" I use. The photos all turn out with a strong lime green tint. I've tried three 1020s now and am about to give up. I took a picture of friends in their living room, which was cream with neutral earth tone colors. It came out green on green. I took another of friends in a sand beige painted classroom. The walls came out a sickly lime green.
The only commonality in both situations was that one person in each grouping was wearing lime green, so I went back to the classroom to try again. With the classroom empty, the photo still came out lime green.
How can I remove the US holidays from the calendar.

I think in 8.1 there was a lumia camera app that could take a chrono type phone that was of motion and you could select which frames to use in it. I though I read that all that was rolled into a plugin for the photo's app called Microsoft Photos plug-in. It uses videos to take a picture, but on my Lumia 1520, I don't get the option for an action shot, just the option to take a single frame pic.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a 1020 before getting my 1520. On the 1020, I could snap a zoomed-in picture, and then unzoom it later to be able to see the surrounding stuff. In other words, the camera always saved the full image from the sensor, not just the part I was (digitally) zoomed into. I can't get this to work on my 1520, though. If I zoom in and take a photo, that's it; I can't unzoom it later. Am I missing a setting, or is unzooming only a feature on the 1020?

1. In the whatsapp application, when you choose "take a picture" in the attachment tab, the camera flash always light up for focusing even you inhibited in setting.
2. When using lumia camera, cant share photo via whatsapp in the pic review tab.
Did I miss the memo that says deleting lo-res photos will somehow not allow one to open the hi-res versions? I have the 1520 connected to my Windows 7 PC (via USB) and wanted to keep the hi-res versions only, so I deleted the lo-res ones. The hi-res files still appear as physical files in file explorer with multiple megabytes but no preview/ thumbnail (same as before). I can't transfer them to an empty folder on my Desktop or to Imgur, nothing happens, not even an explanation. I checked my recycle bin and the lo-res files are no where to be found.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read lot of reviews of great 41MP Camera of Lumia1020. I can take both the pictures (seen in the camera settings and tried). Both the pics look exactly same on the phone screen and there is no meaning of so hyped 'zoom, reframe, crop, edit' thing. I can only do this on the 5MP from my phone readily if I want to share the different angled shot or something.
Have tried downloading 34MP highres pictures on PC and they look not very different from the 5MP ones. It's a great botheration for me at least as I can't show my friend's the great 41MP pictures on my phone and then zoom them to see close ups. All I can do is see the 5MP pictures (although great quality, beyond imagination of any other camera phone brand right now). How to successfully exploit the 34Mega Pixels on phone screen right after the shot is taken and should look better than 5MP.
any apps that allow the photo-LED light to actually "flash" or "snap" if you will when you're taking a photo at night as apposed to going deep into the options menu and activating the photo-light which stays on and blinds the shyte out of your subjects? Its the only feature that would make the camera perfect in my opinion.

But I've noticed that the navigation keys on my 1520 do not light up from the beginning. If I was more careful I could ask the seller right away, but I didn't notice it at the time.. I noticed that the camera takes far less time to 'add finishing touches' now, but I no longer have the ability to edit the exposure/light after I take the photo. That button never appears when I am looking at the photo afterwards? Rich capture is enabled.
Sometimes when the camera starts focusing to make a picture, it makes a really high pitched sound. It continues when the camera has focused until the picture is made. The sound certainly doesn't come from the speakers and isn't triggered by the phone itself but purely by the camera on the back, so it has to be something hardware related.
It isn't that big of a problem, the camera certainly isn't malfunctioning, but I was with a friend today who asked me what that sound was and I'm wondering as well, since it isn't supposed to produce sounds like that.
When i put the flash on off mode the flash light turns on when the camera is focusing and it is annoying if you try to photo a person , as the light hurts the eye , is there a way of turning it off completly.
