Just started my journey with 1520 for a week, I come across 2 issue,
1. In the whatsapp application, when you choose "take a picture" in the attachment tab, the camera flash always light up for focusing even you inhibited in setting.
2. When using lumia camera, cant share photo via whatsapp in the pic review tab.
i just updated my lumia 1520 to WP 8.1 and it worked perfectly. However, when i tried to factory reset my phone to change region and make Cortana work (before the factory reset i cannot open cortana even when i change region), suddenly the access point and internet sharing didn't work anymore, the operator always show inactive. Moreover, on the top of the screen next to the operator and wifi icon it has a sim tray icon. I've tried couple ways such as restart the phone, update or reinstall the access point but it doesn't fix the issue.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy notifications for both Whatsapp and Viber do not work. I've tried resetting my phone, I've tried deleting the apps and re-downloading them but yet nothing works. The actual apps do not appear in the notifications + actions, as an option. I cannot turn on the notifications at all ! When I open Whatsapp I receive a message saying the following: Whatsapp detected an issue with your phone that will prevent you from recieving new message notifications. Please reboot your phone.

Previously in android, i used to just delete the sent media from the file manager. Since the folders of windows are not accessible, so i dont know how to delete them in my lumia 1520 windows phone.
My whatsapp auto backup to my SD card everyday. That's 1 file a day (15MB each). It's eating away my storage.

My PC in Windows 7, and the phone should be Windows 8. I have been able to connect the phone via USB to my roommate's computer, but it's not recognized on my computer. It does charge, but not recognized for data sharing.
If you backup restore your data from DP8.1 do you retain all of your whatsapp conversations data and groups? I want cyan but need whatsapp to remain as is..

View 2 Replies View RelatedI think in 8.1 there was a lumia camera app that could take a chrono type phone that was of motion and you could select which frames to use in it. I though I read that all that was rolled into a plugin for the photo's app called Microsoft Photos plug-in. It uses videos to take a picture, but on my Lumia 1520, I don't get the option for an action shot, just the option to take a single frame pic.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a 1020 before getting my 1520. On the 1020, I could snap a zoomed-in picture, and then unzoom it later to be able to see the surrounding stuff. In other words, the camera always saved the full image from the sensor, not just the part I was (digitally) zoomed into. I can't get this to work on my 1520, though. If I zoom in and take a photo, that's it; I can't unzoom it later. Am I missing a setting, or is unzooming only a feature on the 1020?

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded, recently, to a flash new 1520 and I absolutely love it! So big, clear and brilliant to use. However I have just discovered, this morning, that I cannot fix or set the camera function in one particular area.
I noticed that a 5mp photo gets saved along with a high-def photo when I use the Pro Cam - which I don't want to stop using because I love it - but when I went into the settings of it, I found that I cannot only keep the high-def photo alone, it is either the small res photo alone or the small and high def together and that's it, I cannot just save the high-def photo alone and if I delete the photo, they both delete.
Is there any way I can just save the high-def photo alone, by downloading an app of some sort? Would a photo file manager work? I just don't see the point in putting such a fabulous camera on a phone and having it automatically set with such odd options.
I have a problem with my 1520, as every time I use the hardware button to take a photo, I doesn't stop after the first shot, but keeps taking more shots infinity, which is really frustrating. If I press the on-screen button it works fine.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhile I'm not a huge photo taker, I find it really annoying to snap one and have this purple tint above it. I've noticed that my camera cover has tiny scratches in the center. I'm pretty sure that's what is causing the purple tint maybe the reflection of the light.
View 23 Replies View RelatedI am having Nokia Lumia 710 with Vodafone(India) 2G activated. I have updated my phone to latest firmware and OS and got hte Internet sharing option in my settings tab, But even then I am unable to share internet.
Others are able to connect to my network if I share but when they try to browse internet,none of the internet pages are opening. Then I have tried to share my internet to my laptop(Windows 7 OS). I was able to connect but I was unable to surf anything.
I turn on Internet sharing on the phone. I connect my MacBook Pro mid 2012 to the phone by WiFi. Now you normally have an Internet connection on your laptop through your phone.
In my case the WiFi connection from my laptop to the Lumia keeps disconnecting after just some tens of seconds. This has happened on 2 different Lumia 920 phones used on 2 different MacBook Pros and an iPad.
This is NOT carrier related. I have already gone through this with my carrier (Elisa).
When i try to use Internet Sharing, it says 'Connections not shared - There's no mobile data connection to share at the moment. Check Your mobile setttings and signal, and try again.' In my mobile, mobile internet is working in all the browsers and i was able to install all the apps using mobile internet. but still it throws an error mentioned above, when i try to use Internet Sharing.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have a Rogers-branded Lumia 1020 (RM-877_nam_canada_234) pentaband, unlocked and running on Wind Mobile (an AWS 3G carrier). Everything works great. I just got it, SIM-unlocked it, and started updating... the most recent update was to OS version 8.0.10521.155.
Whenever I try to turn on Internet Sharing, it tries for a few seconds, and then gives error "Connection not shared. There's no cellular data connection to share right now. Check your cellular settings and signal, and try again."
Yes, I've installed Nokia Access Point and activated the APN.
Took my phone apart to switch cases last night and when I put it all back together it doesn't recognize any touch inputs. I thought I was very careful, didn't pry on anything just let the case splitting tool do its job. The phone powers up and the screen looks fine, but no touch or swipe is recognized.

I had someone swap out the Bluetooth chip for a working one and it still doesn't work. Ive tried updating it and hard resetting it as well... I am exasperated and running out of options.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe official Twitter app stop working completely? This has happen about 4 times within a month and the only resolution I came up with is to uninstall and reinstall. I tried soft reset but that doesn't work. The app icon is there but it is faded out and "unclickable". It's real frustrating to have to uninstall and reinstall multiple every time this happens.

I don't have the chive app installed which was supposed to cause this issue sometime ago. Also, I can do a soft reset - which means the power button works in some situations, just not with normal on/off operation.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSeveral times per day, my screen just stops working. The LCD portion of the screen still turns on and off, but it won't recognize any touches. The only way out is a soft reset, since I can't swipe down to turn the phone off, then it works again. I have the Windows 10 preview installed, if that matters.
I'm thinking that it's a hardware issue, but I'm not 100% on that, since a soft reset temporarily solves the problem.
I also tried a hard reset and that had me hopeful, because it worked most of the day, then the issue returned in the evening.
looks like my notifications for Outlook are no longer working. I have a notification sound setup as well as "show in action center" enabled and "show notification banners" checked. This was working previously but a day or so ago I decided to do a hard reset and clean install of everything and after that I haven't been receiving the Outlook notifications. All other notifications that I have setup within the action center are working correctly.
So far I've tried re-syncing the Outlook account, unchecking it to sync and then rechecking, multiple soft resets, unchecking the action center settings for Outlook and nothing has worked.
