Though I have set "custom notification" ringtones for whatsapp contact, it seems to not work since it still uses the main set ringtone.
I am on Denim using lastest Whatsapp version on Lumia 1520.
My notifications for both Whatsapp and Viber do not work. I've tried resetting my phone, I've tried deleting the apps and re-downloading them but yet nothing works. The actual apps do not appear in the notifications + actions, as an option. I cannot turn on the notifications at all ! When I open Whatsapp I receive a message saying the following: Whatsapp detected an issue with your phone that will prevent you from recieving new message notifications. Please reboot your phone.

Previously in android, i used to just delete the sent media from the file manager. Since the folders of windows are not accessible, so i dont know how to delete them in my lumia 1520 windows phone.
My whatsapp auto backup to my SD card everyday. That's 1 file a day (15MB each). It's eating away my storage.

1. In the whatsapp application, when you choose "take a picture" in the attachment tab, the camera flash always light up for focusing even you inhibited in setting.
2. When using lumia camera, cant share photo via whatsapp in the pic review tab.
If you backup restore your data from DP8.1 do you retain all of your whatsapp conversations data and groups? I want cyan but need whatsapp to remain as is..

I have had this tone for a while and I think it started only playing about 50% of it when I updated to WP8.1 Dev Preview. I've been hanging on to see if Cyan fixed it, but it hasn't. The funny thing is, every once in a while (maybe once per week) it will play the whole thing.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI performed a hard reset on my 1520 due to the camera freezing up on me after I pressed the shutter button. However, a new issue has arrived. Once I set up my phone again, using my most recent backup, I signed into all of my apps as usual, and then I found myself in Settings setting up my notifications sounds, banners, etc. But, the list was very short. The only apps in the list were the initial apps on the phone: messaging, phone, the email accounts, etc. Before I performed my hard reset, the notifications list included 6tag, Kik, and every other app that had notification abilities. Now, they are gone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have to open the messaging app to see if anybody has texted me. I've missed 2 very important time sensitive text messages already that have burned me.
I also have a band 2 (hate how it manages messages), but this problem occurs even when bluetooth and band 2 is off/not connected.
Nothing shows up on glance/lock screen even if I have messaging chosen to show quick status.
I have 8.1 on my 1520 and use my Bluetooth headset 97% of the time. I leave it connected all the time and noticed that I do not hear audible incoming text messages, e-mail alerts etc....... The alert sounds come through the Bluetooth headset, so just because I have my Bluetooth connected to my 1520 doesn't mean that I wear my headset all the time, so if I'm not wearing the headset a text message for example will come in and play the alert through the headset but I won't hear it obviously, so I have to check my phone periodically to see if I have text messages or e-mails that have come in.
My wife has even complained that I don't respond to her text messages right away the way I use to when I had my Note 2. On the Note my Bluetooth would be connected just like I do with my 1520, but the sounds/alerts would still be through the phone and audible for me to hear unless I put the phone on silent. Is this an oversight on MS part? Or just something that'll be fixed when the official 8.1 update rolls out???
I just got my Lumia 1520 handy but when I tried to connect it to the local Wifi hotspot (WPA2 encrypted), it times out saying "Connection unsuccessful - No response from the network". I searched the net for solutions and based on those, I restarted the Wifi Router, my Lumia 1520. Also I did a factory reset of the device.
But still, it is unable to connect to Wifi hot spot.I also tried connecting with another Wifi hotspot (WPA2), but nothing good happened. My other devices like Surface, Lumia 1020 are able to connect to the same hotspot without any issues. There is no restrictions on no. of Wifi connection as I am broadcasting the Wifi from my laptop (Windows 8.1 Update 1) as a virtual wifi hotspot.
I use my Nokia 1520 as a secondary device. All of a sudden I can't access the marketplace and I can't listen to the music I uploaded to OneDrive. When I try to access the marketplace, I get "There is a problem completing your request. Try again later. Inquiring minds might find this error code useful 805a8011."
View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore buying Z5 premium dual, I had been using Z. In Z, I was able to have Whatsapp messages appear in the notification bar WITHOUT any sound. That allows me to see the messages without triggering the blue ticks.

Now in Z5p, I am not able to do the same. From the settings available, I only have two choices:
1. Whenever there's a whatsapp message, it pops up at the top of the screen WITH sound, then it remain in the notification bar.
2. By choosing to block it, nothing will ever pop up, there is no sound, and there will be nothing at all in the notification bar.

I have read some forum posts in which people suggested to turn to silent mode. But in this case I won't be able to hear phone calls so it's not feasible.
When I get a new message from WhatsApp it doesn't notify on the top bar, it appears just the icon for this app. If this icon is already there, it doesn't change anything if I've received a new message, (I've to check pulling down the bar to see if I received new messages and who has sent it). My older cellphone used to show the message "Message from..." for like a few seconds, so I could see instantaneously when I'd got new messages.

I tried tweaking both phone settings and app settings and the pin/pattern unlock was the initial problem that I found.

The "swipe" to unlock is now my primary screen unlock method with no security procedure in place.Â
Thing is that i still sometimes don't get the notifications under "screen lock" mode for these 3rd party apps even i chose to show all notification content under phone settings.Â
I only get them when I have swiped to unlock my phone, and a whole chunk of notifications start popping up.

After having an iphone for 4 years i just moved to nexus 5 and boy was it a harsh learning curve. Aint easy.
For some reason when a whatsapp pop up comes up on the locked screen and i press view it doesn't open up the lock screen, i have to press view and then manually unlock the phone. This doesn't happen when i get an sms pop up. Why is this? i played with every setting possible.
Also, when i watch a youtube video and get a whatsapp or sms notification it stops the video. This didn't happen on iphone and was wondering if ther is a way to change it.

How do I give a contact a custom SMS Notification tone? I've figured out that I can give each contact their own ringtone, but nowhere am I seeing an option for text message notifications. The only SMS notification I can change is the default one.
I just got a LG G3 2 days ago and straight out of the box it did an update to Lollypop so I cant quote if the issue I have worked on Kitkat.
Anyway the problem I have is Facebook and Whatsapp do NOT show the number of notifications on Icon only in the status bar. Here's a couple of screen captures to show you what I mean.

I'm gonna try to be clear with my problem. I have a Gmail Account working on Microsoft Exchange, for IM messaging I'm using Beejive IM with Push and I'm also using Whatsapp. Before Updating it to iOS 5.1.1 all Push notifications were working flawless, however, after I upgraded it to 5.1.1, I began having troubles. After 1 minute of having the Iphone locked, I don't get any push notification, nor on the email, nor on the Whatsapp, neither on the Beejive. If I unlock it and I re-open one of them, for ex, I go to check my contact list on Beejive, I get all the mails, and all the instant msgs that people had sent to me after I locked my iPhone; it's like, my iPhone was locked for 30 minutes. In those 30 minutes people sent me 4 msgs on whatsapp, 4 msgs on beejive and 4 mails. Once I unlock my iPhone and I go to one of the 3 apps (mail, whatsapp or beejive), I get the 12 items (4 msg from whatsapp, 4 msgs from beejive and 4 mails) at that exactly time. It's crazy, it's like, with this new update push notifications got disabled for every app or what happened to my iPhone on this upgrade? I really need help. WIthout Push, none of them apps works cool for me. I'm using Iphone 4 on a 3G network. I tried restoring it x3, I unistalled the apps, mail, etc and nothing worked.

I had custom sounds for my Ringtone and Notifications and over the weekend they just disappeared. The files are still saved in the same directories, but when I go into Setting to change the sound, my custom sounds do not appear any more.

I have a custom Ringtone for my Calls, that plays fine, but the Notifications for my Voicemail and Texts is not playing or Plays once the first time, then defaults back to the barely audible notification sound on the N6.
I wiped cache partition and did a factory reset before setting up the phone after the final OTA of 6.0 the day I received the phone. I'm going to try to wipe Cache Partition once again, because I saw in another Notification thread to try it.

We use a paging system (text message) when we get called into work and it comes from a different number each time ex: 7777129401 the next page will be 77771291048. With my Galaxy S4 I was able to set a separate text notification for all of my groups of contacts while my default text messaging notification would be a loud siren (to wake me up in the middle of the night). This means anytime I got a "page" for work or if someone texted me and I didn't have their number in my phone the siren would go off. The only way I can figure out how to do this in the S6 is to individually go to each contact and set a custom notification and set my default to the siren. I have over 800 contacts, so this would take forever! I also used to use an app called Alirmer before I got the S4, because I did not have the capability with the Droid Bionic, but for some reason this app does not operate correctly on the S6.

But I'm finding it difficult to add custom notifications sounds to different apps e.g. tweet-tweet for twitter, ring for email, cheer for sports app, shutter sound for Instagram etc. Also not every app shows the banner, some silently comes in system tray, some make noise. HTC Sense UI has an option to preview messages(2lines) and missed calls right(who and time) on lock screen. This is really handy option with small kids around you dont have to unlock your phone.Since S2 is missing that I've downloaded Notify App which works great.However - I cannot turn off stock notifications - they still show up - so at this time I have to clear notifications twice - once in App and once in Notifications Bar. Is there a way of turning off stock notifications (without custom ROM)? On all other phones i had - there was an option to go to Settings Privacy and uncheck the notifications. This is missing on S2 - all i can see under privacy is Reset to Factory.I really like the phone and how smooth it is. At this point i really dont want to do a custom ROM (`ill root it if need it)
