Lumia 1520 :: Xbox Music App Not Working Properly After Cyan Update
Sep 1, 2014Since the Lumia Cyan update (2 weeks ago in the UK) the Xbox music live tile no longer works. Before the update ... When you were playing music, the artist picture would show on the tile and then have the name of the artist running across the tile. Looked really nice and smooth.
Since the update though there is nothing. The tile just shows the headphones...

Nov 19, 2015My Nokia Lumia 1520 power button has suddenly stopped working. Things I have already tried are soft reset and hard reset without luck. I don't have the chive app installed which was supposed to cause this issue sometime ago. Also, I can do a soft reset - which means the power button works in some situations, just not with normal on/off operation.

Sep 2, 2014Just come back to my 1520 yesterday and updated it to Cyan 8.1 which means the current version of Nokia Camera, however, Ive noticed that the focus ring, which normally flashes as its focusing when you depress the camera button half way, sometimes just appears on-screen and no longer looks as if its focusing, but as if its already focussed and ready to take the shot. I have to close Nokia camera and re-open it again so it focusses, but any shots after the `st one.. the focus ring is just solid.
The Windows Camera still focuses as does ProShot.. however, I want to use Living Images in storyteller.Does this have anything to do with this "Burst Shot" thats supposed to be in the camera.
Lumia 1520 :: Phone Apps Disappearing After 8.1 Update
Jul 28, 2014I did not restore from backup, instead I did a clean install and downloaded all my apps again. The phone is faster and far less buggy.
Unfortunately, apps "disappear". Vine was installed, signed in, and pinned to the Start screen. Now it is a blank tile. In the app list I see the Vine app but the icon is just a black square. If I click on it I get a black screen that says "Resuming...".

Just noticed that my front facing cam isn't working when I toggle it in the menu, both on phone's cam and Nokia cam. The screen appears black momentarily, and then it revert to homescreen.
I am not sure if it was this way when on W8.0 'cos I didn't test it then.

On my phone, the music still goes on, but there's no output sound. The only way i've been able to fix it temporarily is to unplug the aux/headphone and pause the song, then replug and replay.

Feb 27, 2015I cracked my screen on my original 1520. AT&T sent a replacement device (via Insurance). As soon as I got the phone, I installed Preview for Developers and checked for phone update. After updating and restarting, the phone is stuck on airplane mode. When you go into settings and try to tap the button to switch to off it doesn't do anything, however, when I swipe it to the left the toggle moves but once you let go it goes right back to the right. You can toggle the airplain mode on/off in the notifications bar but the phone still shows it is on airplane mode with no data or phone service.
I have already turned phone off and on and have also hard resetted the phone to no avail. What is odd is before the update, phone was working fine with phone service and everything, now it's just stuck on airplane mode with no service, but everything else works fine.

Feb 27, 2015As of this morning I have not been able to connect my AT&T 1520 Lumia to my wireless network. Last night I did the Denim upgrade via the same network. Android tablets and iPhones having no issues connecting. Have restarted the router, verified MAC Address. Deleted MAC from access control. Disabled all security (made it an open network) and it still will not connect.

I thought I was very careful, didn't pry on anything just let the case splitting tool do its job. The phone powers up and the screen looks fine, but no touch or swipe is recognized.

Jun 12, 2012I just purchased a nokia lumia 800. But i have noticed a problem with the touch detection on the screen.
When i swipe (ex. for scrolling on the app list) then the phone some times detects the swipe as a tap, and then might open an app og an URL, or what ever is under my finger when it happens. This behavier is very random, and usually happens at the start of swiping (eg. detects me putting my finger on the screen and not lifting it again, but swiping, as a tap).

Jul 20, 2014Having unexplainable data use lately. My mobile share plan just got obliterated for this month. The local WP guru at my ATT shop and I went through and blocked maybe 6 or so apps, nothing unusual, just twitter, weather channel, crackle(for sure not running) and a couple of others. We suspect one of these apps was doing something but we were not able to nail down the suspect app.

Aug 10, 2014Before the 8.1 update, my 1520 used to connect perfectly to my car and allow me to:
1. Send and reply to texts using my voice only
2. Play music that was on my phone on the car audio system.
3. Make and answer calls through the car audio.
After the update, I can only make and answer calls.!When I receive a text, the message is read out and I can dictate a reply and correct it but no matter how many times I say "send", it NEVER sends it! It's almost like it can't recognise the word. It does recognise it though because I can use the word "send" in a message.
As for music, my car recognised that bluetooth audio is available and also the name of the track, but it won't play it at all.My phone behaves in exactly the same way in my wife's car too. Before the update, it worked perfectly there too.
Lumia 1520 :: Apps Will Not Install Or Update
Jan 10, 2015Any time I try to download apps or update them they won't install and I get the same error message: "We're having trouble installing the app..." It says to try updating my phone but my phone is already updated. I don't know what to do. Someone suggested a factory reset and I did and I lost everything because I thought I had it backed up to my SD.
None of my pictures will show up either and when I take new ones they are pixelated and different colors.

Dec 18, 2015Lost 1% overnight off charger. 3 hours of relatively heavy use earlier like running Antutu and Basemark OS II, setting up home screen and apps, and lost only 11%. Very impressive, getting better battery life than with 8.1.

I tried soft reset but that doesn't work. The app icon is there but it is faded out and "unclickable". It's real frustrating to have to uninstall and reinstall multiple every time this happens.

Lumia 1520 :: Why Has Touch Screen Stopped Working
May 18, 2015Several times per day, my screen just stops working. The LCD portion of the screen still turns on and off, but it won't recognize any touches. The only way out is a soft reset, since I can't swipe down to turn the phone off, then it works again. I have the Windows 10 preview installed, if that matters.
I'm thinking that it's a hardware issue, but I'm not 100% on that, since a soft reset temporarily solves the problem.
I also tried a hard reset and that had me hopeful, because it worked most of the day, then the issue returned in the evening.
Lumia 1520 :: Outlook Notification Are No Longer Working
Aug 1, 2014looks like my notifications for Outlook are no longer working. I have a notification sound setup as well as "show in action center" enabled and "show notification banners" checked. This was working previously but a day or so ago I decided to do a hard reset and clean install of everything and after that I haven't been receiving the Outlook notifications. All other notifications that I have setup within the action center are working correctly.
So far I've tried re-syncing the Outlook account, unchecking it to sync and then rechecking, multiple soft resets, unchecking the action center settings for Outlook and nothing has worked.
Xperia X10 :: GPS Is Not Working Properly After Update
Oct 1, 2010 few days ago I've made a discussion here about the GPS of my Mini, that wasn't working good after an update. Before the update, it got locked on 30 seconds(max) in a cold start, and in a normal start, in about 5~10 seconds. After the update in the same conditions and same place, in a cold start, it takes around 1~2 minutes, and in a normal start it takes around 30 seconds. That's not normal, my friend has a Mini too and he is with the same firmware and his lock time on a cold start is around 25~30 seconds and on a normal start 5~10 seconds. I get the phone to the SE assistance, after 1 day they told me that was a firmware trouble and updated it again, but the phone still the same.
What should I do?
