As of this morning I have not been able to connect my AT&T 1520 Lumia to my wireless network. Last night I did the Denim upgrade via the same network. Android tablets and iPhones having no issues connecting. Have restarted the router, verified MAC Address. Deleted MAC from access control. Disabled all security (made it an open network) and it still will not connect.
View 16 RepliesLumia 1520 used to be flawless connecting to the paired Bluetooth in my car. Nothing has changed in the car. No updates or upgrades.
After the Denim update the phone will sometimes connect, and then after 1 or 2 successful connections, it will fail to connect although it still shows as paired. A reboot or re-pairing usually solves the issue and the cycle repeats.
Can I upgrade while on DP? My phone is a factory unlocked variant from Italy. If not how can I do it?

View 6 Replies View RelatedHaving issue with their screen after updating to Denim on the L1520. I keep getting phantom swipes and key presses. Cortana comes up often and I have to turn off the screen and then turn it back on for the screen to actually work. I have tried hard resetting it...both from the Lumia Software Recovery Tool and from the phone itself. It still does the same thing.

The capacitive keys at the bottom are much brighter than before denim. Now it maybe something in my eyes, or I just never noticed how bright they were...but I'm sure that before denim, the lights weren't that noticeable.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had Denim on my 1520 for a while now. (UK CV). Yesterday, I had extensive usage of the phone and it slipped into battery saver mode at 20% - an abnormal occurrence for me.
Anyway, when Battery Saver enabled, the backlight behind the Back-Start-Search keys went out. And I was using the phone in the dark, walking home.
Upon regaining power, the lights came back again.
I tweeted Lumia on the mysterious occurrence which definitely did not happen in Cyan. Their response today seemed to indicate a fixable software thing - soft reset, see what happens. I have yet to try that.
An easy way to see: Enable "Now until next charge" in Battery Saver. Doing this on mine immediately extinguishes the backlight on the capacitive keys.
Nokia lumia 1520 DP8.1 connected to wifi but unable to access internet. It shows the connection as "limited"
Other fact:
1. never had this issue in wp8.0
2. all other gadgets (laptop, note, galaxy tab) do not have issue with connection and internet to the wifi router at home
3. NL1520 sometimes have internet connection when connected, but I cannot tell the pattern (I thought it was limit of connection, but it wasn't).
4. If connect my laptop to router, and then make my laptop as an internet router(use Spotify for example), NL1520 can connect to laptop's wifi and ALWAYS have internet connection (this has been my work around solution)
5. NL1520 can connect to other router in public just fine, so only my router at home.. but fact the other gadgets has no issue, I assume it is NL 1520 issue
Don't know if it's just me, but occasionally I'll get my Wi-Fi tab (in Action Center and Settings) reporting that networks are "available" but it can't connect to any. Even my own network to which I connect all the time.
I have discovered that after a Reboot everything is back to normal. Wi-Fi connects fine.
I seem to have isolated it to when you leave a premises still connected Wi-Fi and let it drop-off you get this behaviour.
But surely you shouldn't have to turn Wi-Fi off every time you leave a place!!!
I just got my Lumia 1520 handy but when I tried to connect it to the local Wifi hotspot (WPA2 encrypted), it times out saying "Connection unsuccessful - No response from the network". I searched the net for solutions and based on those, I restarted the Wifi Router, my Lumia 1520. Also I did a factory reset of the device.
But still, it is unable to connect to Wifi hot spot.I also tried connecting with another Wifi hotspot (WPA2), but nothing good happened. My other devices like Surface, Lumia 1020 are able to connect to the same hotspot without any issues. There is no restrictions on no. of Wifi connection as I am broadcasting the Wifi from my laptop (Windows 8.1 Update 1) as a virtual wifi hotspot.
Where do i find on a 1520 the default wifi update settings.

I flashed the phone back to its original ROM which is Hong-kong ROM with windows phone recovery tool, it has not fixed the issue. The phone does not connect to GSM network anymore. It appears that the band might have been messed up.

I have a JBL Micro external speaker (small, round and colorful). On 8.0 it connected beautifully on BT with my Icon; with Denim, I can't seem to pair it. I have a Jabra BT earpiece that has worked before and after the upgrade to Denim, so I know BT is working.
I have no expertise in these matters other than knowing that I have a connection or I do not.
The 1520 seems to do this on some apps (the equalizer, for instance). You go to the store, select the update, it downloads and won't install. When you click on the error it says that it must be installed to system memory not the card and gives you the option to override. Even if you say yes, the second attempt also results in an error...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI did not restore from backup, instead I did a clean install and downloaded all my apps again. The phone is faster and far less buggy.
Unfortunately, apps "disappear". Vine was installed, signed in, and pinned to the Start screen. Now it is a blank tile. In the app list I see the Vine app but the icon is just a black square. If I click on it I get a black screen that says "Resuming...".
Before Denim my 1020 camera worked after Denim goes to open then back to previous screen. gone to MS, redo, reset, and recover tool all the same... NO CAMERA.
Microsoft fix your crap OS.... hundreds of $ in cost to me do to MS not testing the software. This issue has been going on for over 6 months now and still no fix. MS makes it the users issue where the mistake that the user made is downloading a MS OS!!!!
