Having unexplainable data use lately. My mobile share plan just got obliterated for this month. The local WP guru at my ATT shop and I went through and blocked maybe 6 or so apps, nothing unusual, just twitter, weather channel, crackle(for sure not running) and a couple of others. We suspect one of these apps was doing something but we were not able to nail down the suspect app.

But, I have a problem with my Lumia, don't have motion data. I mean in settings doesn't appear the item motion data, and every app which needs this, they just don't work.

first thing is, i looked at 3G watchdog thismorning, and my device had been eating 200 MB's of internet WHILE I WAS SLEEPING this is not normal use and i have no clue what caused it (i installed 3g watchdog pro this morning)
second thing is, my android system process seems to be eating away battery life rapidly, its using up to 40% cpu (according to watchdog) and com.htc.bg is using roughly 20% okay, i just saw something happening, i restored a backup, watched my cpu, and then my virus scanner said something about com.android.vending being installed, and i saw my android system process skyrocket in cpu usage
yes, i have rooted my phone, and yes i deleted some system applications (like facebook, htc facebook, and some other crappy useless stuff, nothing that should harm my phone)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had a 1520 for a few months now, fitted with a 64GB memory card. It's got pretty full as I install all my apps, games, photos and videos on it.
Decided to get one of the new 128GB SanDisk cards... Turned off the phone, took card out and copied all my data off the old card onto the new one via a PC, even made sure the new card had the same name as the old one. However when I put the new card in the phone and turned it on, it saw it as a new card and asked me if I wanted to use it to store stuff on. I said yes... but when I went to the photo gallery there was nothing there...
I put my old card back in and all was fine again... the 128GB one is definitely not a fake, I bought a few directly from SanDisk through the place where I work. Incidentally I upgraded the card in my Surface Pro 2 following same procedure and it worked like a charm.
If you backup restore your data from DP8.1 do you retain all of your whatsapp conversations data and groups? I want cyan but need whatsapp to remain as is..

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia Lumia 1520 Windows Phone, and I am trying to connect it to my laptop for file sharing. However, I am unable to connect the phone to the computer.
My PC in Windows 7, and the phone should be Windows 8. I have been able to connect the phone via USB to my roommate's computer, but it's not recognized on my computer. It does charge, but not recognized for data sharing.
I recently bought a sandisk 32gb class 10 ultra memory card and faced following problems while transferring data:
1. Moved twitter app to sd card: It took around 10-15 mins and after that i couldnt open twitter. I had to uninstall it and then install again to use it and in the process lost the data.
2. Moved all my images from phone to sd card but it didnt free up phone memory at all and sd memory filled up
I used storage sense for moving twitter app and used gallery to move images.
in order to perform a hard reset, the phone has to be turned off, and I can't do that because of the dead screen. My phone still has close to full battery though, so I'm waiting for it to drain off slowly... My question is, will the phone turn on automatically when I eventually charge it with a dead battery.

Before the 8.1 update, my 1520 used to connect perfectly to my car and allow me to:
1. Send and reply to texts using my voice only
2. Play music that was on my phone on the car audio system.
3. Make and answer calls through the car audio.
After the update, I can only make and answer calls.!When I receive a text, the message is read out and I can dictate a reply and correct it but no matter how many times I say "send", it NEVER sends it! It's almost like it can't recognise the word. It does recognise it though because I can use the word "send" in a message.
As for music, my car recognised that bluetooth audio is available and also the name of the track, but it won't play it at all.My phone behaves in exactly the same way in my wife's car too. Before the update, it worked perfectly there too.
The 1520 seems to do this on some apps (the equalizer, for instance). You go to the store, select the update, it downloads and won't install. When you click on the error it says that it must be installed to system memory not the card and gives you the option to override. Even if you say yes, the second attempt also results in an error...
View 9 Replies View RelatedAny time I try to download apps or update them they won't install and I get the same error message: "We're having trouble installing the app..." It says to try updating my phone but my phone is already updated. I don't know what to do. Someone suggested a factory reset and I did and I lost everything because I thought I had it backed up to my SD.
None of my pictures will show up either and when I take new ones they are pixelated and different colors.
Lost 1% overnight off charger. 3 hours of relatively heavy use earlier like running Antutu and Basemark OS II, setting up home screen and apps, and lost only 11%. Very impressive, getting better battery life than with 8.1.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI did not restore from backup, instead I did a clean install and downloaded all my apps again. The phone is faster and far less buggy.
Unfortunately, apps "disappear". Vine was installed, signed in, and pinned to the Start screen. Now it is a blank tile. In the app list I see the Vine app but the icon is just a black square. If I click on it I get a black screen that says "Resuming...".
It was working fine with the DP then I downgraded and did the official update and now I can't get storage sense to see the card. The files app sees the card and data just fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI cracked my screen on my original 1520. AT&T sent a replacement device (via Insurance). As soon as I got the phone, I installed Preview for Developers and checked for phone update. After updating and restarting, the phone is stuck on airplane mode. When you go into settings and try to tap the button to switch to off it doesn't do anything, however, when I swipe it to the left the toggle moves but once you let go it goes right back to the right. You can toggle the airplain mode on/off in the notifications bar but the phone still shows it is on airplane mode with no data or phone service.
I have already turned phone off and on and have also hard resetted the phone to no avail. What is odd is before the update, phone was working fine with phone service and everything, now it's just stuck on airplane mode with no service, but everything else works fine.
Using a network Solutions active sync email account. Will sync other folders such as sent or deleted but not syncing other sub folders in inbox that I have created,
View 3 Replies View RelatedLumia 1520 used to be flawless connecting to the paired Bluetooth in my car. Nothing has changed in the car. No updates or upgrades.
After the Denim update the phone will sometimes connect, and then after 1 or 2 successful connections, it will fail to connect although it still shows as paired. A reboot or re-pairing usually solves the issue and the cycle repeats.
Prior to Denim when I would receive a text message in the car it would play it through the Bluetooth like a phone call...... that no longer works and it was a very handy feature .

Android tablets and iPhones having no issues connecting. Have restarted the router, verified MAC Address. Deleted MAC from access control. Disabled all security (made it an open network) and it still will not connect.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo we're all probably pretty much busy with updating our Lumia Handsets with the Cyan update.I rolled back my DP to 8.0 and updated just fine, however after resetting the phone and setting it up by telling it to restore it from the backup, it gets stuck around at 25% and fails to move ahead.
I keep getting a message after a while saying that the restore process is taking unusually long and if I'd like to skip restoring instead. After waiting for approx. 30 mins once, and then doing it again and waiting for almost an hour, I've now initiated a reset on the phone a third time.
Having issues restoring from their backup? (Note: I moved to 8.0 from DP last week and then updated to 8.1 DP again and did a restore then and it had worked perfectly at the time without issues.
Having issue with their screen after updating to Denim on the L1520. I keep getting phantom swipes and key presses. Cortana comes up often and I have to turn off the screen and then turn it back on for the screen to actually work. I have tried hard resetting it...both from the Lumia Software Recovery Tool and from the phone itself. It still does the same thing.

When you were playing music, the artist picture would show on the tile and then have the name of the artist running across the tile. Looked really nice and smooth.
Since the update though there is nothing. The tile just shows the headphones...
