I have a problem since last month. My camera doesn't work. When I open any of the apps that use the camera it just get black. Bought a new camera and still the same problem. Updated to 8.1 and still the same problem.

I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue, but whenever I press the button to take a picture, I end up with a short 2-3 second video instead. The setting for "hold camera button" is disabled, not det to photo bursts or video. The camera icon on screen works fine, but having a dedicated camera button was a huge game changer for me.

OIS works when we manually set focus to infinity
But OIS doesn't work when Focus is on Manual.
However In Video mode,
OIS works in all 3 cases, i.e. OIS works whether focus is Auto or to infinity or Focus is Manual.
Let us request Nokia to look into this matter and release an update to Nokia Camera app to fix this issue.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLast week I wrote regarding my Lumia 1520, not turning off. As a summary, power bottom doesn't work, nor does the reset option. It freezes and glitches constantly, and the only way to turn on the display is by pressing the camera and volume down button, can't turn it off either. I was advised to reset the phone to factory settings, which I did, however problems still persist. I'm wondering this might be a hardware issue.

1. my phone recognizes that cant and dont (without apostrophes) are misspelled words, but it still does not autocorrect them. It does pop up with word replacement and I can tap on the can't or don't suggestion, but why does the phone not automatically change it out?
2. is there a way to set which words I want replaced with something? I know the iphone has an option to switch out words but I can't find anything like that on my windows device.
I do not want to reset my dictionary as I have had the phone for a while, it is inconvenient and it seems like there would be an option to fix it.
my lumia 1520 often dont recognize touch. I have to lock and unlock to make it work or even restart sometime , irritates me to the core..
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I leave my phone to play music, either connected to an auxiliary cable to my car, or just via headphones, and basically the music doesn't play properly. On my phone, the music still goes on, but there's no output sound. The only way i've been able to fix it temporarily is to unplug the aux/headphone and pause the song, then replug and replay.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently dropped my Nokia Lumia 1520, and the top left of the screen is cracked pretty bad, but usually that doesn't stop a phone from working.. When I dropped it the screen froze for about 5 seconds, then randomly shut off.. This is the only phone I have, and insurance is still $200 to replace, and I wouldn't have that for a couple months. I was wondering if there was a way to somehow power it on?
I believe the battery still works, because sometimes when I try to turn it on, the flash blinks, and it gets hot if I leave it on the charger. It doesn't respond when I plug it into the pc, so I doubt it's the display not working...
I have just bought a Lumia 1520 black last night. It was almost brand new and I love the screen size and quality. It is a truly fantastic phone. But I've noticed that the navigation keys on my 1520 do not light up from the beginning. If I was more careful I could ask the seller right away, but I didn't notice it at the time.. Is it normal that the navigation keys do not light while I'm using in the bright place?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had to install my System apps, such as Audio, Glance Screen, Network+.. and so on through Sysapp Pusher because for some reason when I do a factory reset under Cyan it removes them, which is not an issue... as long as they work.
One of the Apps I especially want is Call&Sms Filter as Iam getting spammed by cold calling and canvassing and recorded advertising.. sometimes as much as 3x a day at one point, but for some reason Filter wont work when I install it, even when I reboot my phone.. it says
"Cant open filter at the moment. Please try again Later or restart your phone"
Which ive done. I know im not the only one as many have had this issue but have solved it by a restart or rebooting the phone first then starting the app.. still wont work.
See the problem I have is that I have my own independent Alternative therapies business and i use this phone, which i answer automatically as it could be a client.. which isnt so bad if theres a live person on the other end because they just hang up as we all know cold canvassers can be charged for wasting a companies time and money.. but its the damn answering machine messages.
Problem 1:
The camera doesn't work. I open the camera application with both methods (button on side and icon in apps) but it does the red dot thing in the corner for about 4-6 seconds then disappears and applications tells me the app is running. I try to go to the app but it wont go on it.
Problem 2:
The green key, dialler and contacts icon on the home screen do not work at all. I have no way of opening my dialler as there is no option for it.
I updated my firmware to v40.0.005 last week. Please be aware the problems were both there BEFORE i made the update and are still here after the update.Is there any way of doing this without soft/hard resetting. Also, does soft/hard reset mean you lose the data in an app (eg your high scores in a game like bagatelle)?
With the 1520, when I switch away from the phone screen during a phone call and activate and deactivate the proximity sensor, it returns to the last screen I was on with a banner on the top rather than returning to the phone screen. With the 1020, it always returns to the phone screen.

View 16 Replies View RelatedJust come back to my 1520 yesterday and updated it to Cyan 8.1 which means the current version of Nokia Camera, however, Ive noticed that the focus ring, which normally flashes as its focusing when you depress the camera button half way, sometimes just appears on-screen and no longer looks as if its focusing, but as if its already focussed and ready to take the shot. I have to close Nokia camera and re-open it again so it focusses, but any shots after the `st one.. the focus ring is just solid.
The Windows Camera still focuses as does ProShot.. however, I want to use Living Images in storyteller.Does this have anything to do with this "Burst Shot" thats supposed to be in the camera.
i recently got the cyan update for my NL lumia 1520 (yes we have it!)and just since a few days i have been experiencing problems with the stock camera.there is this wonderful feature called <<tap to take photo>> (its been around since wp7)normally you tap the screen, it places a nice square around the place you tapped, it focusses on that spot and then takes a photo.now it just skips the focus and square part and just takes the picture.
this still isnt that bad, cuz of the lumia camera (lumia right, at least the nokia one with recropping and stuff) but whenever i want to take a shot from whatsapp it opens up the stock camera app and it takes bad pictures all over again!its horrible! i didnt spend over 500$ to have a device that cant take proper pictures!and i know its not the cyan update in general because my brother has the 925 and now problems.
