The other day I attended a concert and took plenty of photos, but I had a hard time getting any of them to turn out good due to the low light, distance from the stage and the movement on stage. How does one take a good low-light photo with lots of movement without the photo getting blurry on the 1520?
View 1 RepliesSo I've been having this issue for a while now, and can't seem to figure out what's causing it. I mainly noticed it after downloading the 8.1 update, but I frequently have issues with the camera freezing when taking pictures. What happens is I will let the autofocus do it's thing, and then when I press the shutter, the autofocus thing stays on the screen, and nothing happens. I've figured out that if I just give it time, it will eventually snap the photo, but no photo is ever saved in the camera roll. I thought it was a thing with my SD card, but it happens when I open the camera fresh too, and not only in taking pictures one after another.

Here's the issue, every time I attempt to take a picture using the camera button in the right side of the phone using the Nokia Camera app, my Lumia 1520 will start taking pictures non-stop other unless I exit the app to stop it. Now if I take the picture using the Nokia Camera app on-screen button the phone will only take a single picture. I remember that this problem was not present when I got my Lumia 1520 in January of this year. My thinking is that this problem has to do with a software update to the Nokia Camera app.
How to you use the zoom features of the camera? I know how to use the zoom after taking the shot but how do you use the zoom feature before framing/taking the shot?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe camera is beast when I click in shadows, night or other places. But when it comes to sunlight, it fails badly. I've tried multiple settings but it just don't work. Due to photo editing apps in Lumia. They are best editing apps & I'm able to correct them though it.
When I click a photo of someone in sunlight, it puts yellow tint all over him and everywhere else. Skin colour also changes to full yellowish.
I have an unlocked 1520 running Denim(not Preveiw for Developers). For some reason whenever I switch to wide-mode and back the screen takes at least several seconds, sometimes 5-6 seconds to rotate. Is there any way to get the screen to rotate faster?

I have a problem with my 1520, as every time I use the hardware button to take a photo, I doesn't stop after the first shot, but keeps taking more shots infinity, which is really frustrating. If I press the on-screen button it works fine.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo we're all probably pretty much busy with updating our Lumia Handsets with the Cyan update.I rolled back my DP to 8.0 and updated just fine, however after resetting the phone and setting it up by telling it to restore it from the backup, it gets stuck around at 25% and fails to move ahead.
I keep getting a message after a while saying that the restore process is taking unusually long and if I'd like to skip restoring instead. After waiting for approx. 30 mins once, and then doing it again and waiting for almost an hour, I've now initiated a reset on the phone a third time.
Having issues restoring from their backup? (Note: I moved to 8.0 from DP last week and then updated to 8.1 DP again and did a restore then and it had worked perfectly at the time without issues.
I was just sitting watching tv and my G4 was on my desk where it had been untouched for a least an hour. I heard what sounded like the camera make that shutter click sound but didn't really pay too much attention to it. Then a few seconds later I heard it again so I got up and saw the phone was on, the camera app was open and it had taken a couple of pictures. I know there are some apps that claim they can access the camera so is it possible somebody has access to my phone? I've only had it a week and bought it brand new. Have I been hacked?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI returned my first htc one because it was having some bugs however my new one is driving me nuts... went to dinner with my friend and i was using every mode possible to get a good night outdoor picture (being that the htc was so hyped about being able to take amazing pictures) every single picture came out blurry.
I tried every mode! normal mode, night more and HDR mode. also it took a couple seconds for the picture to take after i tapped on the screen to take it (i had it under the setting to tap to take a picture) HDR lag was even worse. Here is a sample picture of my friend (this was one of the clearer shots). Also every picture looks so pixelated.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my Lumia 1520 set to snap both the 5MP jpg and high-res 15mp jpg for each photo. Up until today I would save the high-res versions to my PC, and keep the low-res versions on my phone for quick viewing. I recently reset the phone, knowing I would lose all my low-res photos, but thinking I would simply copy the larger versions from my PC over to my new 128GB Micro SD.
I realized upon doing this though that the phone's Photos app does not recognize any of the high-res photos. In retrospect this makes sense, as when taking a photo it only shows the lower-res copy. But I guess for some reason I thought the high-res versions would show up if manually copied back.
Long story short, I have lost all my low-res photos, any method to get the Photos app to recognize the higher-res copies. I'm unsure how the phone even knows the difference, as the high-res copies seem to be standard JPGs.
What can I do to turn off the sound of the camera when taking photos?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI experienced freezing while shooting HDR+ after the initial update, but after un/reinstalling the Google Camera, it seemed fine for a couple of weeks, but the problem has returned with a vengeance. I cannot shoot anything in HDR+ without the camera and phone freezing.
Regular photos snap fine, but when shooting HDR+, the progress indicated gets to about 2 o'clock and then image totally freezes. After a few seconds, it will close and pop up a crash box offering to report or acknowledge with OK. (I've reported it.) Sometimes it will put up a notification that "HDR+ photos are processing in the background, but if you tap that it takes you into the Photos app and there's nothing there and then the whole phone freezes. Yesterday, I noticed the GPS stuck on (was in a basement) at the same time and had to reboot the phone.
I un/reinstalled the update again yesterday and HDR+ worked for a couple of shots, but today it froze again. This is clearly an unacceptable way to manage the problem. I'm tired of missing pictures because the camera app crashes. I was at a major event last week and had Camera crash on launch for the first time. Fortunately, I was able to quickly reboot before snapping a group shot, but if I hadn't noticed beforehand, I would've had a crowd looking at me while I frantically restarted my phone because of a buggy basic app.
Rooted, stock Nexus 5, Android 4.4.2, faux123 kernel (to try and fight the terrible battery life), no GravityBox things which I've seen mentioned as possible causes.
So I recently noticed that when my flash is switched off on my galaxy S5 and I take a photo l, the photo is great. Then if I turn on the flash and take photo it looks like the photo is in negative, but it's red tinted almost like old photos before you had them developed. The photo after that is perfectly normal.

I was a bit concerned about overheating given the past history of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, but I did not have any problem until today. I was taking photos and shooting short two- or three-minute videos when the phone started becoming hotter and hotter. In the middle of a video I got an "overheating" alert on the screen and the phone rebooted on its own. After that it kept rebooting every 5 or ten minutes for a few times before stabilizing again. Now it's back to normal, but if taking a few videos is enough to bring the 950 XL down on its knees, it's definitely a show-stopper.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy z2 has a camera problem. initially worked fine , then stopped taking photos - they show as broken files and can't be opened. I factory reset the phone and the camera worked for one day. it then stopped taking photos - when you take a pic, it shows the little orange circle going round and round , but then doesn't store the photo. Yesterday I cleared the cache and this appeared to make it work. The camera now takes photos, but I cannot message or bluetooth them - just says could not add item. I tried to transfer them to my computer , via usb and they all show as broken files , but with the .jpg extension , so not the lost.dir problem. Any better camera to download thru playstore that works well ...

With my other phones(810, 925), if the phone was locked (with a pin) you could press the camera key and take photos without unlocking the phone.
Has this now been removed from the 1020? Now if i press the camera key I have to tap the pin to use the camera. BAD update or bug?
Does this camera app on the ICON contain a geotag in the photos?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife is trying to create a photo book on shutterfly, and pictures taken with her 1020 and uploaded to onedrive are fine, but any photos taken with my 1520 will not upload. I tried opening them up in Lightroom, and they will not work in there either unless I first download them from onedrive. Once I download them, open them in lightroom, and export them from lightroom, they work fine.
