Nov 16, 2014I noticed some white spots on the photos that I took night time. The lens cover is not scratched. I tried with and without the case. The spots are there if the light comes from a certain angle. Sometimes there are more spots, sometimes less.

With my other phones(810, 925), if the phone was locked (with a pin) you could press the camera key and take photos without unlocking the phone.
Has this now been removed from the 1020? Now if i press the camera key I have to tap the pin to use the camera. BAD update or bug?

Jan 9, 2015When i put my mobile for charging, it automatically starts taking pictures and continues taking them. It takes about 800 pictures within an hour. What I can do. Iv tried soft resetting many times but problem still remains. My phone becomes super heated after that. Its been 2 months since i bought my phone from an online store.

He says that everything is fine during the day and when he is taking indoor low light pictures with the flash, but as soon as he take outdoor picture he is getting some kind of red blur in the top center of the photo, he sent me two examples:
His phone is on 8.1 and he is not sure is it software or hardware related.

Aug 27, 2013Noticed a white hazy region at the top region of pictures taken at night with the xenon flash on? It seems to be because of the placement of the flash above the lens and maybe some mistiming between the firing and the shutter closing instant?

As far as I can tell it's beeping when the shutter opens and closes...but only when taking a picture! No beeping when starting or closing the camera.
Before I run to the store to complain I wanted to ask if this is normal...I'm aware that all the clicking and rattling is...but beeping worries me.

I notice the flash behavior, if camera flash fire twice the picture is fine but fire only once then the picture is totally dark. I already reset the phone twice but still the same.

Dec 6, 2015I've had the Lumia 950 XL for about a week now. I was a bit concerned about overheating given the past history of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, but I did not have any problem until today. I was taking photos and shooting short two- or three-minute videos when the phone started becoming hotter and hotter. In the middle of a video I got an "overheating" alert on the screen and the phone rebooted on its own. After that it kept rebooting every 5 or ten minutes for a few times before stabilizing again. Now it's back to normal, but if taking a few videos is enough to bring the 950 XL down on its knees, it's definitely a show-stopper.

I mainly noticed it after downloading the 8.1 update, but I frequently have issues with the camera freezing when taking pictures. What happens is I will let the autofocus do it's thing, and then when I press the shutter, the autofocus thing stays on the screen, and nothing happens. I've figured out that if I just give it time, it will eventually snap the photo, but no photo is ever saved in the camera roll. I thought it was a thing with my SD card, but it happens when I open the camera fresh too, and not only in taking pictures one after another.

Here's the issue, every time I attempt to take a picture using the camera button in the right side of the phone using the Nokia Camera app, my Lumia 1520 will start taking pictures non-stop other unless I exit the app to stop it. Now if I take the picture using the Nokia Camera app on-screen button the phone will only take a single picture. I remember that this problem was not present when I got my Lumia 1520 in January of this year. My thinking is that this problem has to do with a software update to the Nokia Camera app.

Jan 2, 2014So I finally updated to Black today and to my surprise the damn yellow tint is still present when using flash indoors.I did one shot before the update with Nokia Pro Cam, and on after the Black update and after updating to Nokia Camera.
They look nearly identical.

no flash after black [this looks most like the real thing] . Notice similar issue with the yellow tint not being fixed after updating to Black?Also forgot to mention, all setting were on auto, on the top two shots, on the no flash one, change from auto flash to no flash.

Jun 11, 2014Most of my camera use is to take a pictures of my kids.The problem is that I don't success to get a good pictures because the kids I always in movement and the Canberra doesn't focus on them well.I tried to set the shutter speed to be faster but the I get a darkness pictures.Why there is no modes like Nature,sport,kids,etc and the camera will set the values automatically due the selection mode? Oct 17, 2013I wanted to take all my high res photos off of my 1020 to back them up, also to free space but when I connect it to my Windows Desktop PC and go to the camera roll folder and select all the high res photos, Windows constantly says an unexpected error occurred and cannot transfer the photos It asks if I want to try again and nothing works. I then tried to import the photos using iPhoto on my Macbook Pro and it sees the phone as 909, and just says Loading...I left it for 2 hours and still says loading. iPhoto didn't freeze it is just not reading the photos.

Jan 1, 2015I use Lumia Camera or Proshot to capture most of my photos, while also using the native camera app when I want to take burst photos.
For the Lumia Camera, I usually go for JPEG (5 + 34/38 MP), changing aspect ratio now and then. Sometimes, 5 MP photos are fine, but the 34/38 MP ones will get corrupted, i.e. they will either be just green or grey backgrounds. Same thing also tends to happen with DNG files, that they cannot be opened by Photoshop or some other software.
This issue (corrupt high-res photos) also tend to happen with Proshot when shooting with high-res.
Performing a soft reset solved the problem, but I'm getting tired of soft resetting my phone every now and then.
I've attached 3 screenshots.
1: Basic viewing of the 5 MP photo. No issue here.
2: When I pressed "Open with Lumia Camera", this green photo happens. Instead of a high-res photo, I get a high-res green background.
3: Using a File Explorer, you can see that the photos affected are the high res ones from Lumia Camera. Also happens with ProShot's high-res photos.
