I was shooting the moon lately when I realized that the camera makes two very faint beep sounds when taking a picture.
As far as I can tell it's beeping when the shutter opens and closes...but only when taking a picture! No beeping when starting or closing the camera.
Before I run to the store to complain I wanted to ask if this is normal...I'm aware that all the clicking and rattling is...but beeping worries me.
Pictures shots from Nokia camera during daytime or normal shots is fine but when use with flash pictures most of the time under expose or complete dark. I notice the flash behavior, if camera flash fire twice the picture is fine but fire only once then the picture is totally dark. I already reset the phone twice but still the same.

-The screen is off and I hit the camera button, how long does it take to take a picture and save?
-The battery to power ratio, is it good? (Can the phone last 1 full day without any issues?)
So whenever I take pictures using the Nokia Camera app WITH the hard camera button on the side of the phone, it takes continues/multiple photos.

View 3 Replies View RelatedGranted I have only begun playing with the camera and the many adjustable features, but already indoor shots seem to have an unnatural green hue. I have even shot pics (in my basement) using a professional camera light to simulate day light and still the picture colors are way off no matter what setting I use or adjustment is made. I guess it's just the result of being a "phone camera"? Nevertheless I was surprised that even professional lighting bulbs yielded little better than a fluorescent or tungsten bulb. View 8 Replies View RelatedSometimes when the camera starts focusing to make a picture, it makes a really high pitched sound. It continues when the camera has focused until the picture is made. The sound certainly doesn't come from the speakers and isn't triggered by the phone itself but purely by the camera on the back, so it has to be something hardware related.
It isn't that big of a problem, the camera certainly isn't malfunctioning, but I was with a friend today who asked me what that sound was and I'm wondering as well, since it isn't supposed to produce sounds like that.
Twice recently it has happened to me that I have completely lost pictures when reframing with the Nokia Camera app.The following has happened:
I opened a photo from the camera roll in Nokia Camera, reframed it, clicked save. As usual, the progress bar indicates that the app is working, but then an error message appears, saying nothing except "an error occured. Please try again later", and then the photo is gone.
When looking at the camera roll folder on the computer, one sees that the 5MP photo file has a size of 0 bytes, and the highres file has vanished completely from the phone.
When I leave the camera app, my phone is apparently accessing my camera and taking a picture. The photo isn't saved in the gallery, but then I go into the task manager, I see a photo of wherever I was when I left the camera app. Is there a way to disable this?

I have recently come across an annoying problem though: When the phone has been turned on for some time (30-60 minutes) the camera starts to lag after taking a picture. The duration of this lag can be up to 40 seconds, and it is pretty annoying that I have to wait for that long between shots. If I turn the phone off and then on again the problem goes away for a short period and then returns.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a strange problem with my Xperia PLAY. My camera seems to have corrupted autofocus functionality "it seems to be locked on infinity and I cannot focus on any object. I know that autofocusing should normally be triggered by long-tapping camera button in the default application, but it never happens". I always get red focusing mark and a blurry photo.
This behavior is observed on both 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 with default application, Camera ZOOM Ex, Camera 360 and lgCamera. I tried every focusing setting (auto, infinity, macro), but no luck. I also tried to clear application data for Camera app, but it didn't give any results either.
I opened service menu > service tests > camera, and after tapping on screen I got a message: 'Autofocus failed, taking picture anyway'.
Here's an example of my photo: As you can see, it is of quite poor quality. It was taken from approximately 25-30 cm above surface, with 'Macro' focus settings and other settings in default state.
If I take a picture, let the LG Camera app click (and sort of flash the screen), then immediately hit the Back button to exit the Camera app, the picture does not actually save.
I noticed this the other day, and just tried reproducing it. Take a picture, letting the camera click and actually take the picture. But before the Gallery thumbnail in the bottom-right corner of the Camera app has a chance to update, immediately hit the Back button to exit. Then go to the Gallery and see if the picture is there.
On my phone, it's as though I never took the picture at all. I have Verizon, on software 611A, and I am saving to the 32GB SD card from the LG promo.
I have lost at least 1 picture already from this. It would seem to me that if the camera clicks, then the picture should officially have been taken, and the app should definitely save it before exiting, even if it has to finish the process in the background.
If you take a picture on a normal digital camera, then immediately hit the power button, the camera will likely give a message like "Camera is busy", or something similar, preventing it from shutting down until it's finished.
My 1020 calls people in my address book at random, it turns on the camera and takes snaps by itself, the app icons disappear and are re arranged....

View 23 Replies View RelatedI bought a Nokia 6700 slide mobile on the 26th of June, 2010. I had a great liking for this phone before buying it. The 5MP Carl Zeiss optics camera, ALS display and so many other features impressed me. But when I purchased this mobile for my birthday on June 26th, I was very much disappointed with the camera quality. Despite having a 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens, the pictures taken by the camera are of very poor clarity. The clarity is similar to a 1.3 MP camera and is worse when pictures are shot in any lighting condition. I had great hopes on this camera after reading so many good reviews from several websites. But, this camera is not on par with my expectations and has failed me. My Nokia 7210 Supernova mobile which I had earlier used to take pictures of excellent clarity.
Are there any adjustments to be made before taking a picture? I've used all modes specified in the Options but to no avail.
When I take a picture on my 950 XL, it often records a short video snippet instead of taking a picture. It's not in video mode and the file format on the phone is .JPG, and yet it still shows a 1-2 second video followed by a still shot.how do I get it to just take a picture?

With my other phones(810, 925), if the phone was locked (with a pin) you could press the camera key and take photos without unlocking the phone.
Has this now been removed from the 1020? Now if i press the camera key I have to tap the pin to use the camera. BAD update or bug?

He says that everything is fine during the day and when he is taking indoor low light pictures with the flash, but as soon as he take outdoor picture he is getting some kind of red blur in the top center of the photo, he sent me two examples:
His phone is on 8.1 and he is not sure is it software or hardware related.
When using the flash, in camera pro, id say 70 or 80 percent of shots come out dark, as if the flash hasn't been used at all. Its the same at night or in the day,
