View 2 RepliesPictures shots from Nokia camera during daytime or normal shots is fine but when use with flash pictures most of the time under expose or complete dark. I notice the flash behavior, if camera flash fire twice the picture is fine but fire only once then the picture is totally dark. I already reset the phone twice but still the same.
View 24 Replies View RelatedMy 1020 has become quite sluggish of late so I've decided I'm going to do a hard reset at the very least.I bought the device (yellow AU CV) whilst on holiday in Australia, but I'm now back in the UK, so I thought as I'm going to wipe it anyway, I might as well reflash it to the CV UK ROM, especially as Australia appear to be massively stalling on Denim as well.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI saw in the videos that we can take pictures without flash...but i'm unable to get any pics...it's dark . Just want to know what i'm doing wrong. I'm able to get pics with flash though...
Without flash
With Flash
Every time when i shoot faces in places with low light...9 out of 10 photos come out with red eyes.I suppose Xenon flash is superior to this category.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy flash suddenly stopped working on Sunday evening.
I was tweaking the manual camera settings, and then a few minutes later it would not flash. The assistance light turns on, but then nothing - the pic takes without flash. I don't know if it's a coincidence that the flash stopped working just after trying to discover the manual settings, or if somehow that has affected the flash.
I tried resetting all of the manual camera options first (to auto). I then tried "using default settings" in settings, then tried "camera reset" in photos+settings, then restarting my phone, then a soft reset, I even tried uninstalling and re-installing the Nokia Camera app. Nothing has worked.
I can't seem to find the settings anymore to change the pic that appears on the glance screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to capture pic by setting the timer in Lumia 1020... I could not find that anywhere..
i always end up taking my friends pictures when we go out for vacation... so if i have this feature, i can set timer, run and be part of all pictures i take in my 1020 :)
I discover a really annoying bug when using flash and manual focus. So to reproduce it with no doubt, use a white subject, like a written paper, or something white to capture at a very close distance, let's say 20 cm (or 7 inches). Then:
- Open Nokia Camera.
- First thing, select manual focus.
- Be sure Flash is on.
- Now take the picture.
What you now (should) have is an unusual burned picture. If you take the same picture, with totally the same settings, and using autofocus, instead, the light is normal and the paper correct.
I discover a "workaround" with pressing the autofucus button, let it try to focus something, first, and then using Manual Focus (it seems like a first procedure in autofocusing resets some parameters).
After this and taken the picture, flash and light seem correct, but comparing the autofocus picture taken first, with the Manual Focus one taken later, the manual one results again a bit brighter (in my example the color changed and the more brightness is barely noticeable, but I assure you, depending on colors and distance, it gets just more).
I already tried on 3 1020s.
1 - mine
2 - a friend of mine's
3 - one in a NStore shop directly from the shelf (the employer was embarassed for not knowing that issue).
The problem always occurred.
I've only had my Lumia 1020 for a few weeks after deciding that I was bored with Android. In fact, just returned from Paris where I spent Christmas with the family. Sadly, over the period of my stay there WiFi was scarce so when I checked if my snaps had synched or not I saw that it was waiting for WiFi. Now I've been home a few days with a good WiFi connection in surprised too see that very few pictures have uploaded and that there's no uploads pending. I've checked the backup setting screen and all is as it should be, but there's no option to stay or force the upload. One thing I lived with Android was the Google+ photo section that synched instantly and was ready sand waiting straight away.... Looks like Windows 8.1 isn't as automatic,
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just realized, while commenting on another thread, that I am no longer tied up by wires. Ever since I switched to L920 (and now 1020) and Windows 8 - since Zune has become useless - I've found myself going wireless (including charging). I think I've used Windows Phone Connector, or whatever its called once, and I completely forgot about it. We can now update/upgrade software via cellular radio, and sync our files to the cloud (Skydrive and ATT) and access them from any device. Hell even my music (Xbox Music) that was stored on my broken laptop just appeared on my new laptop and on my new phone without me even lifting a finger.
Yes, I know we still need it for times when we don't have internet access, but I can't remember the last time I did not have internet access. I just find it so much more liberating.
Having issues with their outlook email not syncingo n the 1020? all of a sudden, it doesn't sync, says attention required, but if i send an email to it, it will come through.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was shooting the moon lately when I realized that the camera makes two very faint beep sounds when taking a picture.
As far as I can tell it's beeping when the shutter opens and closes...but only when taking a picture! No beeping when starting or closing the camera.
Before I run to the store to complain I wanted to ask if this is normal...I'm aware that all the clicking and rattling is...but beeping worries me.
Noticed a white hazy region at the top region of pictures taken at night with the xenon flash on? It seems to be because of the placement of the flash above the lens and maybe some mistiming between the firing and the shutter closing instant?
View 17 Replies View RelatedNow that I'm taking more photos since I got the 1020, I've been printing a few of them. However, when I print (to 4x6 lately), the picture does not take up the whole area on the picture paper. I'm doing borderless printing, but there is still white area. Is this due to the 16x9 aspect when taking the pictures?
I can force the program to fill the entire paper, but then of course you lose a little bit of the picture. It hasn't been egregious yet, but I was wondering what the fix is? Perhaps I'm just missing something basic...
Recently i was going through all of my photos - older ones and the new ones. I did notice, that older pictures are bigger in size than those i snapped recently. I'm talking about oversampled ones (5 MP). They used to be ~1.6-2.3 mb size, now they are 600-800 kb.
Am i doing something wrong? I'm copying my photos directly from the phone, so there is no compression going on.
I have a 1020 for a few months and there is a very annoying problem with my camera. When i shoot, sometimes it gives me a green, or grey image. At first, it was green screen in the hires image. Then it was grey screen in th hires image and now it starts ruining my 5 mpx images too. Reinstalling Lumia Camera does not give a solution. Is my 1020 dying?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy friend is having a problem with his Lumia 1020 when taking low light outdoor pictures with flash on.
He says that everything is fine during the day and when he is taking indoor low light pictures with the flash, but as soon as he take outdoor picture he is getting some kind of red blur in the top center of the photo, he sent me two examples:
His phone is on 8.1 and he is not sure is it software or hardware related.
Granted I have only begun playing with the camera and the many adjustable features, but already indoor shots seem to have an unnatural green hue. I have even shot pics (in my basement) using a professional camera light to simulate day light and still the picture colors are way off no matter what setting I use or adjustment is made. I guess it's just the result of being a "phone camera"? Nevertheless I was surprised that even professional lighting bulbs yielded little better than a fluorescent or tungsten bulb. How to get better indoor pictures without daylight?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSometimes when the camera starts focusing to make a picture, it makes a really high pitched sound. It continues when the camera has focused until the picture is made. The sound certainly doesn't come from the speakers and isn't triggered by the phone itself but purely by the camera on the back, so it has to be something hardware related.
It isn't that big of a problem, the camera certainly isn't malfunctioning, but I was with a friend today who asked me what that sound was and I'm wondering as well, since it isn't supposed to produce sounds like that.
I own a L720 but am very tempted to make a switch to L1020 in future once its officially available here. A major query I have is,
-The screen is off and I hit the camera button, how long does it take to take a picture and save?
-The battery to power ratio, is it good? (Can the phone last 1 full day without any issues?)
Twice recently it has happened to me that I have completely lost pictures when reframing with the Nokia Camera app.The following has happened:
I opened a photo from the camera roll in Nokia Camera, reframed it, clicked save. As usual, the progress bar indicates that the app is working, but then an error message appears, saying nothing except "an error occured. Please try again later", and then the photo is gone.
When looking at the camera roll folder on the computer, one sees that the 5MP photo file has a size of 0 bytes, and the highres file has vanished completely from the phone.
So I finally updated to Black today and to my surprise the damn yellow tint is still present when using flash indoors.I did one shot before the update with Nokia Pro Cam, and on after the Black update and after updating to Nokia Camera.
They look nearly identical.
-before black
-after black
no flash after black [this looks most like the real thing] . Notice similar issue with the yellow tint not being fixed after updating to Black? Also forgot to mention, all setting were on auto, on the top two shots, on the no flash one, change from auto flash to no flash.
recently i buy a xperia z3 from Singapore, for a few days my camera is doing problem when i take picture keeping flash on. it seems like a rainbow shade right side in the picture.i have a warranty.

I have a white haze over photos when taking a picture with my flash. What can I do to fix it?
Info:
iPhone 4S
I have a Bold 9000 that started out with the original Rogers operating system some time in 2008. I've upgraded it through various 4.6 (or is it 4.7?) OS versions and I'm now on 5.0.0.662 (I haven't gone to .681 yet mostly because I keep forgetting). On every single version of 5.0 I've tried (Wind, Azercell, etc) I have run into two problems.
1. The camera takes pictures that are way too bright when using the flash. It's like it doesn't reduce the exposure time when the flash is on - almost every flash picture is totally white. This happens in auto flash and when you force the flash on. Pictures without the flash work the way you'd expect them to.
2. I can't snooze the alarm using a side key while it's in the holster any more. The alarm ringtone starts playing, I press the volume up or down key while the phone is still in the holster. On OS 4.6, this would cause the alarm to snooze for ten minutes. On OS 5.0 it just restarts the alarm sound! Totally pointless. This is especially annoying for me as I need to take pills on a 12 hour basis and so I have alarms going off at least twice a day, every day.
