I have a 1020 for a few months and there is a very annoying problem with my camera. When i shoot, sometimes it gives me a green, or grey image. At first, it was green screen in the hires image. Then it was grey screen in th hires image and now it starts ruining my 5 mpx images too. Reinstalling Lumia Camera does not give a solution. Is my 1020 dying?
View 1 RepliesGranted I have only begun playing with the camera and the many adjustable features, but already indoor shots seem to have an unnatural green hue. I have even shot pics (in my basement) using a professional camera light to simulate day light and still the picture colors are way off no matter what setting I use or adjustment is made. I guess it's just the result of being a "phone camera"? Nevertheless I was surprised that even professional lighting bulbs yielded little better than a fluorescent or tungsten bulb. How to get better indoor pictures without daylight?

View 3 Replies View RelatedEven though I can take photos, whenever I try to shoot video it focuses and then nothing happens - the timer stays at zero. My 1020 I'd fresh out of the box today. This happened both when I tap the screen, tap the video button, or press the camera button on the side. The Windows video app works, but I need to use Nokia video for the editing capabilities ( plus it's just better, I upgraded from a 920 so I'm not new to Windows devices).

-The screen is off and I hit the camera button, how long does it take to take a picture and save?
-The battery to power ratio, is it good? (Can the phone last 1 full day without any issues?)
after taking more pics, the gallery in camera started be buggy, after pressing icon on upper corner, it shows up the image then images become green ( or blue or any color that is set as systemwide color ), i have tryes reset camera and restart phone, but problem still not solved. I am using 8.1 dev preview.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt makes no difference which Nokia "Camera" I use. The photos all turn out with a strong lime green tint. I've tried three 1020s now and am about to give up. I took a picture of friends in their living room, which was cream with neutral earth tone colors. It came out green on green. I took another of friends in a sand beige painted classroom. The walls came out a sickly lime green.
The only commonality in both situations was that one person in each grouping was wearing lime green, so I went back to the classroom to try again. With the classroom empty, the photo still came out lime green.
When using the flash, in camera pro, id say 70 or 80 percent of shots come out dark, as if the flash hasn't been used at all. Its the same at night or in the day,

I was shooting the moon lately when I realized that the camera makes two very faint beep sounds when taking a picture.
As far as I can tell it's beeping when the shutter opens and closes...but only when taking a picture! No beeping when starting or closing the camera.
Before I run to the store to complain I wanted to ask if this is normal...I'm aware that all the clicking and rattling is...but beeping worries me.
Now that I'm taking more photos since I got the 1020, I've been printing a few of them. However, when I print (to 4x6 lately), the picture does not take up the whole area on the picture paper. I'm doing borderless printing, but there is still white area. Is this due to the 16x9 aspect when taking the pictures?
I can force the program to fill the entire paper, but then of course you lose a little bit of the picture. It hasn't been egregious yet, but I was wondering what the fix is? Perhaps I'm just missing something basic...
Recently i was going through all of my photos - older ones and the new ones. I did notice, that older pictures are bigger in size than those i snapped recently. I'm talking about oversampled ones (5 MP). They used to be ~1.6-2.3 mb size, now they are 600-800 kb.
Am i doing something wrong? I'm copying my photos directly from the phone, so there is no compression going on.
Pictures shots from Nokia camera during daytime or normal shots is fine but when use with flash pictures most of the time under expose or complete dark. I notice the flash behavior, if camera flash fire twice the picture is fine but fire only once then the picture is totally dark. I already reset the phone twice but still the same.
View 24 Replies View RelatedSometimes when the camera starts focusing to make a picture, it makes a really high pitched sound. It continues when the camera has focused until the picture is made. The sound certainly doesn't come from the speakers and isn't triggered by the phone itself but purely by the camera on the back, so it has to be something hardware related.
It isn't that big of a problem, the camera certainly isn't malfunctioning, but I was with a friend today who asked me what that sound was and I'm wondering as well, since it isn't supposed to produce sounds like that.
Twice recently it has happened to me that I have completely lost pictures when reframing with the Nokia Camera app.The following has happened:
I opened a photo from the camera roll in Nokia Camera, reframed it, clicked save. As usual, the progress bar indicates that the app is working, but then an error message appears, saying nothing except "an error occured. Please try again later", and then the photo is gone.
When looking at the camera roll folder on the computer, one sees that the 5MP photo file has a size of 0 bytes, and the highres file has vanished completely from the phone.
Normally when I shot a photo and in the photo viewing mode I can select "details" to see the full details of the captured photo such as shutter speed information. However, recently I found that the information does not show in full like in the past. The shutter speed an some other details are disappeared. How can I bring this back....

View 4 Replies View Relatedmy screen froze on my 1020. None of the "screen" buttons would work but the physical side buttons would. I rebooted a couple of times (depressing the power and volume down). It worked once but then froze up again. Taking out the sim and putting it back in seems to reboot the phone, which works, sometimes, but freezes up again as soon as the screen lock is activated.

When shooting outdoor pics, most of the time pics are shot with a strong yellow tinge. Very rarely it takes without it.
I used rich capture mode for both, with 16MP.
I am using the 950XL at my work and love it. Recently I bought a USB Microphone (Rode Podcaster). It works really well while using it to record voice-interviews with the audio recorder..but while shooting video the phone uses the internal mic instead of the external!?
Microsoft Sweden tells me the video-app does not support external microphones and do not have any solution getting around the problem.
This just can't be right?! Why having a high-end phone with a beautiful camera and USB OTG and do not letting it to support external microphones in video???? In situations like this I actually feel a bit stupid not going for an iPhone.
Have Microsoft simply forgotten to unlock something in the code for the video-app? It just don't make any sense.
The Icon seems to shift white balance back and forth a lot while shooting video? I have it set to auto white balance and it seems to shift even when I'm not moving it around.

Click on the widget to toggle between the two modes, to change the screen timeout.
