Lumia 1020 :: Screen Just Black - Green Light At The Bottom When Plugged In
Sep 15, 2015
I just replaced my screen on my Nokia Lumia 1020. And now the screen is just black, but when i put into a charger there's a green light at the bottom of the screen.
I upgraded my phone to a blackberry cure 8520 about 3 weeks ago, and I haven't dropped it or anything. It has been very well taken care of. Now the screen is completely black, and its plugged in but the red light doesn't turn on and if I try to turn the phone on nothing happens (No White Screen, No Red Light, Nothing!) Like I said this phone is not very old, and it was working a couple of hours ago and had almost half of its battery power left. The problem happened after I plugged the blackberry in. It was fine until then.
I have a 1020 for a few months and there is a very annoying problem with my camera. When i shoot, sometimes it gives me a green, or grey image. At first, it was green screen in the hires image. Then it was grey screen in th hires image and now it starts ruining my 5 mpx images too. Reinstalling Lumia Camera does not give a solution. Is my 1020 dying?
I'm having problem with my storm phone ever since it was dropped in water. I left it to dry for a week. Since then I replaced my battery and the phone came on with the clock and then the screen showed up. and could not do anything. Then the screen went black. Now when I try to recharge it only a green light appears and nothing else. Did I kill my battery and is the phone no longer good or it's just my screen and i can replace it.
I have had the Lumia 1020 for a couple months now and love it but every now and then, at complete random: the screen goes black. I then need to perform a soft reset in order to use the phone again.
I have not completed a factory reset yet, especially since it's still a new phone in all senses. But how I'll likely proceed with the reset and if it happens again: contact warranty to get a replacement.
I been wanting this device for awhile now. But anyways, I was wondering if there's anyway the clock that shows up on the screen w/ black background, can be removed. It's almost like a screensaver. It makes me think my phone's screen is on :)
I was filming my family and the video stuttered and stopped altogether after a few seconds. Then the app went to a green screen (totally green) and I couldn't fix it. I had to reboot the phone to get it to work normally. Is that normal?
My 1020's FFC has been working fine until yesterday when I tried to use the FFC and it just showed a black screen and you couldn't press any buttons on the screen, I just had to go back to the home screen to do anything else. The regular camera is working fine. Proximity sensor seems to working fine as well. I have done a soft reset with no luck, about to do a hard reset... It's not a huge deal but I do like my phone to be working at 100%!
after taking more pics, the gallery in camera started be buggy, after pressing icon on upper corner, it shows up the image then images become green ( or blue or any color that is set as systemwide color ), i have tryes reset camera and restart phone, but problem still not solved. I am using 8.1 dev preview.
I was taking some low light pictures over the last few days and it seems that some of them are still plagued with the green tint issue that some users have been talking about for many months. I have attached two samples to show what I am talking about. I am a Lumia 1520 user with Cyan update. The sample shots were night time pictures on tripod with low ISO and long exposure time.

On the horizontal shot, please check the area slightly above the middle, you should notice a green line going across the picture and then everything below that has a greenish tint to it. For the other picture, you should see two vertical lines at the top of the picture near the middle a bit above the statue. I used both ProShot and Nokia Camera and they both showed the same issue so I don't think it is a software issue but rather more of a hardware or firmware problem. Not all low light pictures I took has the issue though which makes it more bizarre. I doubt it is the camera module on my phone because my daylight pictures are fine and many of my low light pictures are good (or at least the tint is not noticeable).
So, I plugged my phone into my PC. I opened the Windows Phone App for Desktop and the phone asked for me to enter my password. I entered the password and it went to the home screen, then shut down. It sat dark for a second then showed the AT&T Logo, and then went black again. It's been about an hour, and if the battery were dead it should have already shown the battery symbol. I tried powering it on,
Granted I have only begun playing with the camera and the many adjustable features, but already indoor shots seem to have an unnatural green hue. I have even shot pics (in my basement) using a professional camera light to simulate day light and still the picture colors are way off no matter what setting I use or adjustment is made. I guess it's just the result of being a "phone camera"? Nevertheless I was surprised that even professional lighting bulbs yielded little better than a fluorescent or tungsten bulb. How to get better indoor pictures without daylight?
It makes no difference which Nokia "Camera" I use. The photos all turn out with a strong lime green tint. I've tried three 1020s now and am about to give up. I took a picture of friends in their living room, which was cream with neutral earth tone colors. It came out green on green. I took another of friends in a sand beige painted classroom. The walls came out a sickly lime green.
The only commonality in both situations was that one person in each grouping was wearing lime green, so I went back to the classroom to try again. With the classroom empty, the photo still came out lime green.
My new Lumia 1020 was connected to wifi when I began setting it up. I got a data usage warning message the next day, so I made sure it was still connected to wifi - then I got another warning message advising me more charges were being applied to the data plan. I called ATT and explained and was told that the 4GLTE runs all kinds of stuff in the background that uses data and to turn the data off. I did - since then, no more data usage - however - it will not stay connected to wifi after a time out unless it is plugged in. It still shows that its connected to wifi but its not.
Does anyone know the path and file to something in openSSH that I can change to fix this? Deleted winterboard which did nothing. Every lockscreen wallpaper is like this now.
I bought my 9900 in June, and I have encountered lots of problems and downsides.1-Really short battery life, drains too quickly2-Bad speaker performance in open areas3-Horrid app performance4-Horrid selection of apps5-Constant freezing and loading times, regularly having to unplug batteryAnd now the most severe thing ever happened:I didn't drop my phone, but a week or two ago a straight horizontal line of blue pixels appeared. I was curious, and I took a screenshot. The blue line wasn't visible. One or two days later the space between the line(It went from one side to the other side) and the bottom of the screen started to flicker, and sometimes completely went black. The black area was a third of my screen, and it is really hard to use with this black space on my screen. It eventually became always pitch-black, and now it rarely flickers.
Today I picked up my phone and tried to press the wake/power on button. Nothing happened. The green LED is on and solid, the screen is black (sleeping) and it refuses to wake up. The phone did not get wet, I did not drug it, it did not do some heavy exercises, it was sitting on the table, it is not tired. So, what am I supposed to do now? How do I wake it up?
So I recently just replaced my Lumia 1020 with another 1020 because it wasn't able to make or receive phone calls. When it did, it connected to 2G and wouldn't switch back to LTE. I just got my new 1020 yesterday but now the keys on the screen won't like up unless I cover the sensor new the ear piece. I don't want to have to do that every time I use my phone and I'd rather not do a hard reset since my other phone is still resetting as I type this (going on 17 hours).
My screen went black won't come back on when I plug the charger up it makes the sound like its charging but it makes the noise over and over... I have tried restarting the phone and nothing!
Ever since the Lumia Black update, I have noticed significant amount of battery drain while not doing anything. This morning I woke up after 8 hours of sleep and removed my 1020 from charging plate, the phone was warm. That means it was charging the whole 8 hours.
I removed the phone and restarted it, turned off glance screen (location off) and did not use it until 3PM (3 hours after being removed from charging plate) and the battery gauge is already below 50%.
I've got a black 1020 (Carrier: Bouygues Telecom) that can't work with Black Update. When I update it, my phone breaks down. (When I run an app, there's the loading screen then back to the homescreen or the phones freezes).
I've try to hard reset, the problem is still there because when you hard reset, I think the update is still there. So i've try to reflash it with my carrier rom to have it like the first time i've had it in my hands, the phone works fine. But if I tried to update it to Black, the same problem shows again.
I have a lumia 1020 amber, it is unlocked. I tried using an active att sim to update the phone, but it always say couldnt download the update. I tried reseting, wifi and data are both on.
