Aug 5, 2010Does anyone know the path and file to something in openSSH that I can change to fix this? Deleted winterboard which did nothing. Every lockscreen wallpaper is like this now.

IPhone 5 :: The Bottom Half Of The Display Is Less Bright Than The Upper Half
Aug 21, 2014I'm having issues with the brightness of the screen of my iphone 5.
The bottom half of the display is less bright than the upper half.
It came into contact with water but not in a high amount, about five drops hit the iphone and I dried them imminently away.
I still got the protection plan active, but it would be better if I could fix it right away. Â Â

Sep 3, 2014I have been using my phone all day with no issues however when I got home and went for a shower and came back the screen had a white patch on the bottom half making the touch screen unusable.Â
The home button, power button and sound button work fine, I have tried turning the phone on and off again and I have done a 'hard rest' I have even plugged it into the computer and done a back up and update. None of which worked and after the update the screen was completely unusable.Â
I have never dropped my phone or damaged it in anyway.

Aug 31, 2014I dropped my iPhone & half of my screen when black. The other half is not completely clear, but it's not awful. Everything is working perfectly fine other than the fact that the entire left side of my screen is black. Can I fix it myself or do I have to take it to my Verizon store to be fixed? (and pressing the home and lock screen buttons for 10-20 seconds does NOT work).

Jul 4, 2010I have an X10 that I've had for over a year. I recently updated it and since then the screen has split in half and only blinks on and off on the bottom part of it. I can re-install the software and sometimes it helps, but I'm not too sure what else to do.And since the update I've been having problems with Mediascape, it comes on by itself and plays music. I stop it, shut it off and it opens again and plays music. I was wondering if there is something wrong with the Mediascape on these phones. Could it be buggering up the phone?

Aug 21, 2015I got the S6 Edge yesterday and it's my first Samsung phone. I've notice a faint blue tint on the bottom half on the screen. If you open a new tab in Chrome you can see it there against the white background. The top half of the screen is a nice white color.. there is definitely some kind of darker difference on the bottom half.

I was curious, and I took a screenshot. The blue line wasn't visible. One or two days later the space between the line(It went from one side to the other side) and the bottom of the screen started to flicker, and sometimes completely went black. The black area was a third of my screen, and it is really hard to use with this black space on my screen. It eventually became always pitch-black, and now it rarely flickers.

May 2, 2015Just started happening today. When I turn my phone on, instead of getting the lock screen I get a white screen that just has the emergency call box at the bottom. I can get no further than this. When I touch emergency call, I can see the bar at the top with pending notifications, but no way to get there. I can hear the incoming text notification. I can receive a call. On the white screen, I can see the faint images of home and back at the bottom. I have rebooted, removed the battery. when I start in safe mode, I see the same white screen, but it does say safe mode at the bottom, but still can't do anything or get any further.

May 1, 2015If i love something on my GS6 is amazing screen, specialty true black color which gets truly black by shutting down pixels. so this happens every time, but not on lock screen. When I set black lock screen the black color is not truly black anymore and the back lid light is seen. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Mar 8, 2015I've only had my S5 for a couple months now. About a month ago, I got an OTA update to 4.4.4, and since then my lock screen wallpaper will occasionally disappear and be replaced by a solid black background. All the text/graphics (clock, step counter, notification bar) will still be there, white letters on a black field. The first time was about a week after the OTA, and it's happened 4-5 times so far.
When it goes black, I am no longer able to change the lock screen wallpaper. The menu comes up, and I can see all the pictures available, but selecting one and hitting "Set Wallpaper" simply returns me to the home screen without actually making the change. The black wallpaper will persist until I restart the phone. I have seen no other issues of any kind from the phone when the anomaly occurs, and my home screen wallpaper (which is different from my lock screen) is unaffected.

Apr 20, 2015So sometimes when I press my lock button, the screen will go off but when I wake my phone again, it automatically opens without having to swipe to unlock.
This always happens when I have Google search open but also intermittently at other times.
When it fails to lock correctly, it sounds as if the lock "chime" is cut off abruptly rather than fading out as it should.
Samsung replaced the board inside but this did not fix it. They then replaced the handset with what seems to be a brand new handset and the problem is still present.

I'm sure I changed it to this at some point from something else however I don't know how or where etc. My friend's Blackberry (same Bold 9700) has a lock screen that shows a padlock to say it's locked but I don't get this? Any ideas? This lock screen displays her background image and a little padlock in the bottom corner etc.

May 29, 2010SO, today I went to the Apple Store to get my iPhone's screen replaced once again for the same problem. (Dust under screen) This is the 3rd screen my phone has had. So I'm looking at it when I get home, putting on my new screen protectors, and I notice that... Half the screen is dimmer than the other side, (I thought I was seeing things, so I put it against my Mom's iPhone 3G, and I was right...) and now there is a dead pixel. This screen is a dud! I'm sorta tired of my monthly visits to the Apple Store...good thing this is all under warranty. Anyone else had this problem that reoccurs? Or the have dimmed problem? I'm bummed out... I can't get to the Apple store for a few weeks. Guess I gotta deal with it...eh? There was some awesome Customer Service people who made my visit a breeze though!

Jul 19, 2010I have had an iphone 3G since Dec-2008 - obviously out of warranty now.Today, the bottom 20% of the screen or so went dead - it won't respond to touches, taps, slides, etc. The rest of the screen responds fine, but this portion is completely out of it.This is particularly problematic b/c it is all of the bar where my 4 favorite icons sit (SMS, Email, Web and Ipod). I did some googling and found the apple Article TS1827, but it didn't say what could be the cause, how to fix it, etc.
1) Any ideas what could be wrong?
2) I have a genius appointment later today, but what are the chances Apple actually fixes or replaces it?
3) What is the best suggestion as to how to fix it if i need to - places to go, or DIYs? Located in NYC.

Jun 17, 2014Whenever I use the camera app or view snaps on snapchat the bottom of my 4S screen flickers and jumps.
When on the camera the top of the camera app which normally has flash settings, HDR mode and switch camera stays on the top and moves to the bottom and the screen flickers but it only happens on the rear facing camera when I change to Front Facing Camera it goes fine and then on snapchat when I view stories and snaps it does the same thing and on the camera.

Sep 7, 2014The screen on my iphone is showing the top part of the screen at the bottom of the screen. A system reboot hasn't worked - the power/lock combo. The images on the screen are flickering and jittery in some apps but perfect in others. After a reboot thing there is a discoloured oval in the screen and the edges are faded.....

IPhone :: Lock Info And Annoying Apple SMS Alert On Lock Screen
Aug 27, 2010I installed LockInfo a while ago. I got everything working fine, downloaded it and plugins fine. I got them all from the same repo as I was advised to do that, and everything seemed to be working fine. Everything was up to date etc.
I received an SMS, and instead of it appearing under the SMS on LockInfo, which it does, it appears as well by the annoying Apple notification box.
I still want my phone to light up when I received a text message and the text message to be displayed under the SMS tab in LockInfo, but how do I get rid of the Apple notification box? I saw when configuring the app there was some thing about quick replying to texts and there was a list to choose form. Would any of those get rid of the Apple alert?
