Lumia 1020 :: Front Facing Camera On Phone - Frozen Black Screen
Sep 11, 2013
My 1020's FFC has been working fine until yesterday when I tried to use the FFC and it just showed a black screen and you couldn't press any buttons on the screen, I just had to go back to the home screen to do anything else. The regular camera is working fine. Proximity sensor seems to working fine as well. I have done a soft reset with no luck, about to do a hard reset... It's not a huge deal but I do like my phone to be working at 100%!
Just noticed that my front facing cam isn't working when I toggle it in the menu, both on phone's cam and Nokia cam. The screen appears black momentarily, and then it revert to homescreen.
I am not sure if it was this way when on W8.0 'cos I didn't test it then.
So my lumia 920 is 10 days old and Ive noticed a lot of dust under the glass of the FFC.
- I have read a lot of the posts here. Some people claim its the dust entering through the ear vent.
- I used a cannister of pressurised air onit today - and it indeed cleared all the dust out of the camera.
Where did the dust go? I read soemwhere that this blown out dust can wind up under the screen..Could it also end up obstructing the proximity sensor and mess up calls (blanking screen out)?
My mom has a 1520 that has a front camera not working. Whenever she opens the camera app, wechat, skype using the front camera the screen is just black. Is this a hardware issue?
I'm looking for a replacement phone for my BB and wondering what recommendations you had. Here are my requirements:
Must haves-
- android 2.2 - front facing camera - NFC - LED or some type of visual notifier - coming from bb this is important to me! - Wifi/GPS (think this is standard nowadays)
Nice to haves-
- HTC - 4" screen - Thin
Are there any phones out there (or about to be released) which meet the above criteria?
The front-facing camera on the Nokia 920 getting dust particles inside the lens? This should be a very sealed area. I don't work in dusty environments, etc. Just a normal office IT Professional, and is in a case most of the time and rarely in a pocket.
The front facing camera produces a purple line through the top middle of my display and when I snap a photo it remains. Is this hardware? I tested it with the google camera app as well. This is a Samsung Galaxy S6
So I have my galaxy s5 for about a year now. So just today I noticed that when I switch to my front facing camera a faint green line shows up across the top of the screen. My rear facing is fine and my screen it self is fine. Why this is happening. It's even on snapchat and my stock camera app.
Will apps such as Skype be able to utilize the functions of the cameras for video calling? I am getting the iPhone 4 and my dad and uncle have Skype and we video chat all the time. So will apps like this be able to use the cameras in development? Discuss.
Anybody else feel the need for Some front facing camera apps? Ichatr got removed mainly due to the perverts showing themselves , its a real shame as i had some very funny moments on there
I just purchased the htc one today, and have loved it so far. Until I sensed it was time for a selfie, and then frustration set in. The first picture I took with the front camera I noticed my head had grown about 3 times its normal size. Like all good selfie takers, I naturally raise my phone to take the picture, but the distortion does not happen when taking a picture straight on. It distorts at the bottom, and top of the picture, and also gets very dark in the same places and unnaturally light in the middle of the frame. The picture quality is also very grainy and slightly blurry.
we have been trying without success to do video calling on skype with this handset.does it not have a front facing camera? i read on the net that it does.
Think it will work with normal phone calls? Or do you think it will only be used with specific apps?Would be cool to call a friend that also has an iphone and select a button for speaker phone/camera and start video conferencing.
When I have my camera on the front-facing option the picture is smaller but when I turn it around it fills the whole screen. It didn't used to do this and I can't find out how to fix it in the settings. This is what it looks like.
When you have the front facing camera on with no effect, it is very laggy and choopy , however when you add an effect like black and white for instance, the picture is much smoother?
I believe this may be an issue on all devices. It seems like the issue is prominent when taking close up photos. The issue affects the top ~15% of the screen and the bottom ~15%. The only purpose of having a front facing camera is for the ease of selfie shots.
When i go in to my camera app and try to change to front facing camera the app freezes. It does not work on snapchat or any other apps that use a camera. It has been like this for 3 months at least.
I'm facing problem with my Xperia Z2 after updating to lollipop 23.1.A.0.726My front camera stopped working, when I try to switch to the front camera the screen goes to black.I made restore factory settings, repair by Sony pc companion
When using my iPhone 4s front camera, the screen sometimes become black or have blue stripes on it! Is this a hardware or software problem? Can this issue be covered by my warranty? I bought it inmid-december last year, and this problem came at around Late January. It's a rare case, only came about 5 times, but this really concerns me. What's wrong with it?
The new Facetime looks cool, the only problem is you can only do it with another ip4 owner (and over wifi, at that). What are the chances that Apple will allow a Skype app that will utilize the FF camera? Even if it's only over wifi, it would make the FF camera much more useful.
Just got the phone and I noticed that the front facing camera seems very choppy when moving the phone. Is this common? I knew going into it that the cameras weren't great, but just want to see if maybe there is something wrong.
