My 9700 rings ONLY ONCE while it is in the holster. The settings regarding vibration doesn't change this. What should I do to have my 9700 ringing several times while it is in the holster?
My wife and i have had blackberrys for 4yrs but the two new 9700 are driving me mad !! Whilst in the holster they only ring once so missing loads of calls and when you pull the device from the holster it is not locked and the settings are telling me it should be. Checked all settings and they are correct. Running V5.0.0.586 (PLATFORM 5.1.0.146).
I recently downloaded the new update for my Blackberry Tour, and I have noticed that my phone is not remembering its settings (im assuming). When I have my phone holstered, it only vibrates twice and does not ring (though I have it set to Always for the ringtone) for my MMS/SMS messages. When its out of holster, it will only do the default text messing sound. I am not sure how to fix this though I have rebooted it twice in attempts for the settings.
When in holster and I receive a call, my 9700 will only ring once, even if the caller is still on the line. I am using the Normal profile, and the phone setting for Normal is set to Play sound = Always. I also checked the set ringtone alerts, and the Play sound = Always as well.I am running OS 5.0.0.545. is this a bug?
I searched and searched and searched but I couldn't find a way to change the in holster settings. This is what I have tried so far: Profiles>Edit normal> ?? No holster settings ? options>Password> Lock Handheld Upon Holstering
I am wondering if I change this...whenever my bold is removed from holster when ringing, my ringtone automatically changes to the tmobile jingle. Is there anyway to change this?
I'm using BB Bold 9700 Version 5.0.0.593. Why is it when I put my BB in holster, my network will always get disconnected after a while? Sometime when I using half way will get disconnected. Do I need to do any setting to keep it connected.
Just upgraded from bold 9000 to 9700. I upgraded my OS to version .743. After that, I stopped getting visual voice mail notifications. The message is there when I dial "1", but doesn't show up at all under the VVM menu, nor do I get the visual indication(s). It did work on the AT&T OS out of the box. Second issue with this O.S.- phone does not lock when it is in the holster. I have to believe both these issues are with the .743 version of the OS, but I may be missing something. I've read others with the VVM problem, not none of the threads seem to offer a solution except to say that AT&T WAS having issues with this back in November.
I'm new to BlackBerry and have been stymied by a problem that I can't find an answer to. When I have my BB in my pocket, the wiggling of the trackpad instantly silences the ring when someone calls. Since I got my Bold 9700 a couple of weeks ago, I think I've missed more calls than I've received and it took me a while to figure out what is going on.
Is there a way to disable the "any button press or trackpad wiggle silences the ring" feature? I'd rather not use the holster - I got the new small BB so it would fit in my front pocket.
I have a Blackberry Bold 2 9700. Till 2 weeks ago it worked perfectly, 2 weeks ago while I was sleeping my phone ranged, then I pressed a button(I am not sure but should be the mute button) and suddenly it started to ring only once(then it starts the vibration) while in holster. I looked every setting of it but could not find anything wrong.
My BB 9700 doesn't catch the first 4-5 rings of an incoming call. It's so bad that incoming Google Voice calls go straight to Google voicemail. If I call myself, I hear 4-5 rings on the calling side before the BB begins to ring. I've changed the ringer settings from vibrate but this seems to do little.
Before this phone I had a Sony Ericcson k850 that had the same problem. Before that I had the SE k550i that did NOT have any problem. If I take that old phone and put my sim card in it now, it still has no ring lag.
So I believe it has something to do with the phone settings within the phone, though this BB is the first phone I bought that came from AT&T (branded probably). Can I change some setting for the phone to ping the towers more often? I don't see anything for slot cycle on the phone...
So the 'Normal' profile of my 9700 (Phone) is set up to play ALWAYS simply because it is on my desk in the office, it is not in the holster, and I want to hear when it rings. I also have a ring tone that I downloaded (not the default).I noticed that when the phone is in the holster and it rings, as soon as I take it out from the holster the ring tonne changes from the one I set up to the default AT&T ring tone.
I am a new owner of a Blackberry Bold. When I receive a phone call, the phone only rings once and if I don't answer within 4 or 5 seconds I get a "missed call message". I've explored chanding ring tones accessed from the "Loud" icon without success. How do I get the phone to ring for longer like normal mobiles or landlines?
My boss has a BB Curve 8530 and she wants to set it up to vibrate only in holster and ring outside of holster. Is this an option I can set up in Profiles? If so, do i have to adjust this option for every sound (i.e. MMS, e-mail, alerts, etc)?Or there an easy way to adjust these settings? I'm not very familiar with the BBs so please be gentle.
I recently switched from a Bold 9000 to a new Torch 9800 with the new OS 6.0. On my Bold I could set one ringtone for In Holster @ one volume and a different ringtone @ a different volume for Out Of Holster within the same profile. So far this seems impossible with the new operating system. Seems I can only set one ringtone and one vibrate for each profile. Am I missing something?
I have had my phone for over a year with the OEM holster and it would put my phone to sleep, however for the last 2 days when i put the phone in, nothing happens...am i missing a setting or is this probably a hardware issue and i am then SOL
I have a BB9900 and in the beginning it was able to respond and go into sleep mode when its place inside the holster. However, recently it started to stop responding to holster.
I have the ring tone on 9900 set to always so it should keep ringing in and out of the holster but when I take it out of the holster the ringtone stops. My 9300 did exactly the same thing. I've changed it 'out of holster' ringtone which works as does in holster but when set to ring always it stops out of the holster.
Bought Blackberry Bold 9900 and have one of those defective holsters because upon inserting the phone into the holster one of the keys got ripped off. When I went with the guarantee to the store. The key is still press-able; the people from the store told me that the keyboard must be changed with the underlying circuit board.
Anyone having a problem with the phone locking when in holster? I have the setting right but it doesnt lock when I put it in the OEM holster. Even when I pass the flap magnet all over the phone nothing locks. Any ideas?
I've been using my Bold 9650 in the holster while I work out in the gym and I've been listening to Pandora. I've noticed that the volume controls on the right side of the device will not work while the device is in the holster. If I take it out of the holster, the volume buttons work fine. Is there any way to enable these buttons while the holster is being used? I would have thought that they would automatically work by default.
Recently I got a new 'refurbished' Bold 9780 from Vodafone, I wanted to use my holster that I got from the box (the official one) , and whenever I put my blackberry in its fine, but when I take it back out the back cover (battery cover) slips off with it. I'm not sure why this happens, I put it in the correct way and everything. Maybe my case is loose? But I've tested the back cover, its perfectly on and doesn't jiggle about.
Been a happy Sprint user since 2005 and have used various dumb phones and smartphones. The Photon is my 3rd Android.I have noticed that each phone , whether smartphone or not, has the same issue that has caused me to miss incoming phone calls here and there - the caller dials my number and hears several rings before my phone actually starts ringing. The phone goes to voicemail before I have the opportunity to answer the phone. The solution for my phones has always been to adjust the Slot Cycle index from the default setting of 2 to the setting of 0. This causes the phone to poll towers more frequently, thus the phone is more quickly aware of a new incoming call. The only negative implication is that the phone goes through battery a bit more quickly during the day...but it's really only a tiny difference. I've done this on my phones, on my spouse's phones, my mom's phone, etc.
Since the Photon's battery life is so much better than my prior phone (EVO 4G) I am very comfortable in adjusting the Slot Cycle index, so I obtained my MSL from Sprint and attempted the adjustment by going to the Dialer:##DATA# ->tap green Dial icon -> to the Data Settings menu...tap Advanced->From there you can see that the Slotted Index is set to 2. So I wanted to change the setting but can't get to it from Menu->Edit->enter MSL code->VerifyI called Sprint about this issue, and in the past they have helped me to change the setting. I have called more than once and have been dealing with the more advanced Tech Support team. No one at Sprint can figure out how to adjust this setting on the Photon.
If I use the holster that came with my 9930, it goes into sleep mode like it is supposed to, but I don't like that holster. It's too difficult to remove the BB from those holsters, when you grab it to slide it out, you also push the volume up key.I prefer the face-in spring loaded belt holster like I used with my Bold 9650. I am using ones designed for the Bold 9000 and they fit, but the holster sleep mode doesn't work. I tested the holsters with an old 9000 and they do work correctly, but no luck with the 9930 - as if the magnets are in a different location.
I'm a proud owner of a new Bold 9900 bought today. However, just now i was trying the Holster and it doesnt work. I believe the magnet is placed abit too low. As when I tried my phone placement outside the holster it seems to be able to auto lock if i placed it abit lower. Is there any way to get the holster replace?
I have recently noticed a disturbing situation with my BB Bold 9700. I can set the audio profile to Silent (like when I am in the movie or theater) but when people with specific ringtones call, the phone still has the audible ring.
I have tried all the tips I have found on this site and other sites. However, nothing seems to work. It only happens with people who have custom ring tones set.
