View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen a happy Sprint user since 2005 and have used various dumb phones and smartphones. The Photon is my 3rd Android.I have noticed that each phone , whether smartphone or not, has the same issue that has caused me to miss incoming phone calls here and there - the caller dials my number and hears several rings before my phone actually starts ringing. The phone goes to voicemail before I have the opportunity to answer the phone. The solution for my phones has always been to adjust the Slot Cycle index from the default setting of 2 to the setting of 0. This causes the phone to poll towers more frequently, thus the phone is more quickly aware of a new incoming call. The only negative implication is that the phone goes through battery a bit more quickly during the day...but it's really only a tiny difference. I've done this on my phones, on my spouse's phones, my mom's phone, etc.
Since the Photon's battery life is so much better than my prior phone (EVO 4G) I am very comfortable in adjusting the Slot Cycle index, so I obtained my MSL from Sprint and attempted the adjustment by going to the Dialer:##DATA# ->tap green Dial icon -> to the Data Settings menu...tap Advanced->From there you can see that the Slotted Index is set to 2. So I wanted to change the setting but can't get to it from Menu->Edit->enter MSL code->VerifyI called Sprint about this issue, and in the past they have helped me to change the setting. I have called more than once and have been dealing with the more advanced Tech Support team. No one at Sprint can figure out how to adjust this setting on the Photon.
options - work - general settings - expand - number of rings, but I don't even have a work section under options... Bold 9000
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a brand new owner of a 9650 and I'm stumped on trying to change a setting. Currently my phone rings only once before it goes to voice mail. I have looked all over the device to find how to increase the number and can't find it anywhere. I have checked sound profiles and see no option to do so. The manual for the 9650 says it's an issue with my provider. My carrier, Verizon, has been no help. This was not an issue with my old phone and I assumed it would be the same during the transisition to the new one. No go.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm new to BlackBerry and have been stymied by a problem that I can't find an answer to. When I have my BB in my pocket, the wiggling of the trackpad instantly silences the ring when someone calls. Since I got my Bold 9700 a couple of weeks ago, I think I've missed more calls than I've received and it took me a while to figure out what is going on.
Is there a way to disable the "any button press or trackpad wiggle silences the ring" feature? I'd rather not use the holster - I got the new small BB so it would fit in my front pocket.
My wife and i have had blackberrys for 4yrs but the two new 9700 are driving me mad !! Whilst in the holster they only ring once so missing loads of calls and when you pull the device from the holster it is not locked and the settings are telling me it should be. Checked all settings and they are correct. Running V5.0.0.586 (PLATFORM 5.1.0.146).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Bold 2 9700. Till 2 weeks ago it worked perfectly, 2 weeks ago while I was sleeping my phone ranged, then I pressed a button(I am not sure but should be the mute button) and suddenly it started to ring only once(then it starts the vibration) while in holster. I looked every setting of it but could not find anything wrong.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy BB 9700 doesn't catch the first 4-5 rings of an incoming call. It's so bad that incoming Google Voice calls go straight to Google voicemail. If I call myself, I hear 4-5 rings on the calling side before the BB begins to ring. I've changed the ringer settings from vibrate but this seems to do little.
Before this phone I had a Sony Ericcson k850 that had the same problem. Before that I had the SE k550i that did NOT have any problem. If I take that old phone and put my sim card in it now, it still has no ring lag.
So I believe it has something to do with the phone settings within the phone, though this BB is the first phone I bought that came from AT&T (branded probably). Can I change some setting for the phone to ping the towers more often? I don't see anything for slot cycle on the phone...
How do I extend the number of rings before voicemail kicks in - my 8520 only rings 3 times - not enough to find it and answer it. Missing loads of potentially important calls.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to change the settings so the phone rings more than 3 times before it goes to voicemail? I have US Cellular, and they told me it's because I use a Zedge ringtone. View 14 Replies View RelatedMy husband and I both got the 9700 this past weekend. Mine works great but unfortunately, his voicemail notification does not work. We've tried adding visual voicemail, removing visual voicemail, adding it again, removing it again, resetting to network with Customer Care. My husband doesn't even care about VVM. He just needs regular voicemail notification. And yes, the voicemail works properly and the notification has worked perfectly fine through the years on his 8900, his old 8320, his old Pearl, etc.
Yesterday I called Customer Care and the CSR rep said all we had to do was go to the home screen --> hit menu --> scroll and click on messages --> hit menu --> scroll and click on voicemail setup --> scroll to notifications --> choose ON, then save or done. Sounds simple enough. Unfortunately, when I followed his steps and went to the home screen and hit menu, there is no "messages" in the menu. If I go to the messages icon, I can get to message alerts for all messages but there is no voicemail setup.
Is it possible to remove visual voicemails from my message inbox? I prefer having the VVM icon on my home screen so I can quickly look at my messages. Getting a second VVM notification in my inbox is annoying.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOk so besides the inaccurate timestamp issue that they haven't fixed yet, I'm also having an issue when deleting messages. The first time I select and delete a message from the VVM folder it doesn't actually delete the message from my voicemail and if I call VM it is still listed as an unheard message. So then I manually reconcile in the VVM folder and the previously deleted message comes back and it's not till I delete it the second time that it actually removes it from the voicemail system.
