View 7 RepliesThis issue has been happning for a while, but for the last week or so it has been happening more frequently. A phone call arrives and sends the phone into a reset, similar to what QuickPull would do. No open apps, no error message, it just resets.I have searched a bit, but have not found anyone posting a similar issue so far. I run the stock T-Mobile OS, and a few extra RIM and 3rd party apps.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am a new owner of a Blackberry Bold. When I receive a phone call, the phone only rings once and if I don't answer within 4 or 5 seconds I get a "missed call message". I've explored chanding ring tones accessed from the "Loud" icon without success. How do I get the phone to ring for longer like normal mobiles or landlines?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with the Bold, when I'm speaking on a phone call the line disconnects while the phone receives e-mail and / or when the 3G/ GPRS switches from one to another.I have no idea on how to fix this issue. I have tried changing the network parameters for it to work on 2G only, 3G only and both but it hasn't fixed the issue.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just updated to 442 and everything else seems fine except for the fact that when on a call, as soon as the backlight times out, it mutes the mic and the party on the other end cannot hear me. Clicking the trackball "unmutes" the phone until the backlight times out again. This happens whether I'm on speakerphone or not.
I posted this in the actual OS thread as well but figured someone in here may read this and know of a solution.
I've done quite a few battery pulls hoping this would resolve the issue but it hasn't.
The nice thing about upgrading from 296 to this is when you are on a call and the backlight times out, the screen and everything but the 4 buttons on the trackpad row go dim. So if its dark you can still find these 4 buttons rather easily. I just wish I could figure out this mute issue.
I use gmail and when I delete an email on the web, it doesn't delete on my BB. The same goes for when I open an email on the web, it doesn't show 'read' on my BB. Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIm trying to figure out if i should just return this phone, this is my second bold, "auto focus problem was other problem". I've had this phone for around three months, three or four times it has happened, i will be in the middle of a call and i will hear nothing, i look at the phone and its locked up, then solid red light, then phone reboots. Phone works fine for three or four weeks. i never had this problem with my curve 8320. I think its a app that might be auto updating on its own but wanted to see if anyone else is having same problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs they way that when im in a call that i can press the left phone button to activate or de-activate the speaker phone? As i need a more convinient way of activating and de activating the speaker phone rather than pressing menu then scrolling down to the actiate option.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a blackberry bold 9700 a few days ago, but I'm all new to blackberry, so I don't know a lot about them. When I first tried to set up an email address, I only had one option, and still only have one option which is a Blackberry Enterprise Server one. To try and set up my email I have to go to setup from the main menu, then to Setup Wizard, and then I have to go to email setup. As well as that, my facebook application doesn't work which I downloaded from facebook over blackberry internet.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm the proud owner of a Bold delivered today, (software V5.0.0.545) running on the Vodafone network in the UK.I've set up my Yahoo email on the BB and under Email Reconciliation have selected "Delete on Mailbox and Handsets." My BB is receiving the Yahoo mails but if I delete an email on the BB it still appears in my Yahoo email inbox. Is there full synchronization between BB and Yahoo mail or have I made an error in the set-up? If Yahoo cannot synchronize will using Googlemail enable me to synchronize emails?
View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing 9700 on Vodafone UK - Software Version 5.0.0.423..This has happened a few times now. At first I thought it was just me not reading the screen properly. And it only happens now and again.
What happens is that sometimes when I get a call the screen shows the last callers details as if they were ringing again - but it is someone else. When I hang up the call or if I miss the call - the details then show the correct persons details - weird.
If I pull the battery out it all works fine then for a week or two and then starts happening again. It is not a big deal or anything - just a bit strange.
I just got a 9700 yesterday and I am in Canada. I don't see the "I want to reate or add an email address". I can't seem to find the solution to that. Couple other questions I have. I don't have a data plan, can I still use BBM and download all the apps ? Also do I need to set up an email account to download apps and use BBM ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if your bold drops calls as frequently as mine does. it seems that sometimes the phone decides to act up and gives me a 'call failed' message whenever i try to make a phone call. I always check how many bars i have and its usually at 4 or 5. sometimes a battery pull fixes this, but other times, the problem is persistent. my old bold 9000 had the same problem, so i'm not sure if it's at&t or blackberries in general.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've seen a few post that sort-of answer my question, but none seem exactly right. I have a Bold 9700 and use a BIS to retrieve my personal email from my ISP's POP server. I don't use BES. When I'm at home or at work and have direct access to email, I'd like to turn off my bb email client. How can I do that?
In one post I saw the recommendation Messages > Options > Email Reconciliation > Wireless Reconcile -> set of Off. Is this enough? (I have my BB set up for wi-fi connection when I'm home, in case that makes a difference.)
I hope someone can help because I'm losing the will to live over this one!

I bought a SIM free BB 9700 to use with my 02 SIM card. I applied the unlimited BB tariff and proceeded to set up four email accounts into the device which are all for my small business. I waited to do this until I knew the O2 bolt on had been applied correctly.I set the accounts up via the BIS server website which sent them down to the device; seemingly correctly.
I received email correctly for that day and could send as well with everything syncing with my IMAP servers and Outlook.Next morning - no email delivered to the device and I was unsuccessful in sending emails as well from the device to addresses.I tried to send down the service books - I sent them but no change.I got my four email accounts working again correctly but had to delete the accounts from BIS and recreate.I could then receive email correctly for the rest of the day and could send as well with everything syncing with my IMAP servers and Outlook.
Next morning the same thing happened - no email delivered to the device and I was unsuccessful in sending emails as well from the device to addresses.I then did a complete device wipe. When the device rebooted it seemed to synchronise with the BIS and then my accounts worked again for the remainder of the day. This morning - the same thing happened - no email delivered to the device and I was unsuccessful in sending emails as well from the device to addresses.
I have now created my @o2email address and applied my long standing @hotmail.co.uk address to the 9700 and they work fine - at the moment (we'll see about tomorrow!) to see if they fail as well.I have sent test mails today from the @O2 account and hotmail to each other and also to my main small business account from my BB. The @O2 and Hotmail emails arrive both on the device and (hotmail) on outlook and the main business account arrives on outlook BUT the main business account email does NOT arrive on the device.
I cannot seemingly send anything from my business addresses anywhere (from the device) with the only outgoing addresses that work being the @O2 and @hotmail accounts on the BB - unless I do a device wipe or delete the accounts and recreate.Emails sent from the BB from either @O2 or @hotmail arrive on the BB but not anything sent to the work accounts sent from @O2 or @hotmail from the BB - although the emails sent to the work addresses WILL appear on my outlook...
Speaking to O2 has been tough and they are blaming the server people who host my small business domain and such, although I think it is more than that though I could be wrong. My server people insist it isn't their end, saying they can see from the logs that RIM seems to stop checking for emails at times they detailed when the device stopped receiving emails from one day to the next.
I'm trying to set up my personal email on the 9700, but it seems that i have only one option, Blackberry Enterprise Server option. Is that suppose to be that way? I don't seem to have the " I want to create or add an email address" option.
Im using a Bold 9700, v5.0.0.442(Platforms 5.1.0.121)

I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem please. I have recently purchased a BB-Bold 9700 and transferred my settings from my old Bold. I have to email addresses (both Gmail) registered which appear on my main screen. The push email works fine! However, whenever I send an email, I cannot see the sent mail in the individual email folders but only in the main messages folder which is very annoying and confusing. Here's what I have tried sofar:
1. I tried to go into options and mark "No" in the section indicated hide my sent messages.
2. I tried going into filter and ticking sent messages. They appear but once you press the back button they disappear again.
3. I tried going onto the BB website and I successfully downloaded the newest software update (5.0.0.4) but still it did not resolve the problem....
Do I need to wipe off the whole device? Can someone please help because I'm very confused and frustrated with this issue.....

Just found that there is no longer an option to reply using a different email address on the 9700. On the 8900, after you press reply, the top line says "send using" and you can click on that to choose which email to reply it with. Anyone know how to solve this issue?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo every time I get a call, I lose 3G. When I end the call it says GPRS then picks up EDGE then 3G again. Happened with .545 and now with the new leak that popped a few days ago.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo I have owned a Black Bold 9700 for a while now and about 2 months ago I switched to a White 9700. I would always get at least one day out of my battery in my black 9700. And I was with my white 9700 as well until about 2 weeks ago.I rarely talk on my phone but I am a heavy user with BBM, text and email and a bit with Facebook which I know uses a lot of battery... I have about 90 contacts on BBM and use it constantly everyday -- chatting with 4 to 5 ppl at a time constantly. However, I'm lucky if my battery lasts from 11am until 5pm anymore. I have tried about 3 different batteries and they all have the same issue. I just upgraded my software from .743 to .862 last night.
And I switched over to a brand new OEM battery 2 days ago. I charged my phone overnight and powered it on at 11am and now at 2:14pm I'm sitting at 75% battery life.I don't have many apps on my phone besides Facebook and Weather Eye. The only apps I ever have running everyday are the ones that have to be running constantly (BBM, Phone, Browser, Messages). I rarely even browse the internet and I don't have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled. However, I am always running on 3G.
I cannot make a call on 3g bold I get call failed or congestion I have to take phone off 3g this is my 3rd replacement and i only had the bold like 2months what should i do at this point a friend in trouble www.twittter.com/golden1ne
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a friend that just bought this BlackBerry Bold 9700 and the call waiting beep volume is so low he is missing his calls. He called blackberry, his provider and is getting nowhere they keep telling him to return the device for a new one and he did once but of course didn't fix this problem. They came out with a new download that was suppose to fix this problem but guess what it didn't.Blackberry doesn't seem to care about this problem but you bet if it was their buisness calls they was missing they'd fix it faster.Anyone no of any new News on this? View 14 Replies View RelatedFor the past week or so, I can not make an outgoing call to save my life. After about 30 tries, my outgoing call would get through. But usually it says "Congestion" and I'm not able to make a call. I did that Alt+L,G,L,G thing to clear the log and that isn't helping. I can do everything else on my phone like text, use the internet, BBM, and I can even receive calls! I just can't call out
View 13 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post and I hate to start with a problem but I'm at my witts end with this one. I've searched but couldnt find a similar post about the Bold 9700. For some reason, it does not show missed calls in the call log. I can only see them if I have a missed call at the time, but once I exit the missed call log, I cannot view it until I have another missed call. I do not want them to appear in the messages folder either and the BB9700 does not have an option to View Recent that the 9000 has in call log view.
