Can anyone tell us how to add a new contact - from a received incoming call? ie if someone calls the phone, how do we then add them as a contact into the Blackberry Bold 9700.
View 2 RepliesWhenever I hit the green phone button or go to the "Call Log" application my contact list comes up. I can no longer access my call log. If I miss a call I can select view and see my missed calls list but after that I cannot get back to the call log. I have not done anything out or the ordinary beyond phone calls and a few text messages. This is a 9700 Bold and I believe the OS is V5.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my gf a BOLD 9700. I live in Singapore and bought an officially unlocked BB. I ust bought the model only, not with a contract from any carrier.My gf uses her simcard but doesnt have a data plan. We dont intend to use the email functions.But we do want to have WIFI on my home network. Been already busy for a few days and have seen several sites and seems that a lot of people have problems with this issue.Inside my router I see there is an IP adress assiged to the blackberry and I see the mac adress of the BB. But the blackberry keeps saying Failed to obtain an IP adress.Other laptops and my IPhone connect instantly to this router.And how to contact the blackberry technical support? Or can I return the phone under warranty?Im not so familiar with blackberry's.I also tried it with my own simcard which does have a data plan with it. But the same problem exists.Already reset the router a thousand times and removed battery from the BB a dozen times..on the BB screen I also see the WiFi is connected to my home network router but the wifi logo doesnt light up.

Sometimes when I've been having a conversation, through sms text messages, with someone I will be randomly unable to open a newly received sms text message and cannot open it for a while. I got it checked and they gave me a new phone, and this one is doing the same thing. Sometimes i can't open it for 10 mins and then sometimes i have to delete it because it's been over 2 hours. this is getting really annoying and more and more frequent. does anyone know what i should do? cause the bell people dont even know.
View 12 Replies View RelatedUsing 9700 on Vodafone UK - Software Version 5.0.0.423..This has happened a few times now. At first I thought it was just me not reading the screen properly. And it only happens now and again.
What happens is that sometimes when I get a call the screen shows the last callers details as if they were ringing again - but it is someone else.When I hang up the call or if I miss the call - the details then show the correct persons details - weird.
If I pull the battery out it all works fine then for a week or two and then starts happening again. It is not a big deal or anything - just a bit strange.
When I attend an incoming call, after finishing my conversation, I couldn't find the end button in the screen to End the call. A small call symbol displays in red color. Few seconds after it displays end call summary.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this happen but I keep having to add a contact twice when trying to start a new SMS thread.Here's what happens.Click Messages app>menu>compose SMS.I type the name of the person and click the center button.I have to hit the OK button twice for whatever reason to make it work.This results in me sending the same message twice.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm using a blackberry torch and my provider is China Mobile. My wife uses a blackberry bold 9700 and she is in Indonesia and her provider is Indosat. Since the past few days i've not been able to send her any messages on bbm so i deleted her and when i tried to re-add her it only shows pending authorization. When i send her any PIN message it doesn't go thru and says service blocked however she can send me PIN messages. I've asked my friend in China to add her but they are also facing the same problem i do.
I don't know what to do as it is very annoying this problem has happened. We have never faced such problems before hence please advise me what to do. Just for your info her PIN is 2190FC0C.By the way, she is able to receive bbm from everywhere except from China and i'm able to send my other friends bbm in Indonesia only to her i can't send.
I own a BB bold 9700 and last night I exchanged phones with a friend, the sim and memory card was removed and then reinserted back in, when i turn on the phone, I realised that all my contacts were gone. I don't know what happened? Those that has to do with a different sim card inserted into the phone? Is it some kinda BB security lockdown software? I'm using the Celcom-Vodafone (Malaysia) package. Please help, I really need to get this working.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen receiving a new call from a new number (with caller ID, this number is not in my contact list), I can see both the name and number displayed, if i go to Add to Contacts, only the number gets copied over, and i have to manually type in this name (came displayed thru caller ID), is there any ways to get this default name copied over every time when I add a person so I don't have to type it in? A side question, numbers broken down to ### ### #### with spaces that are saved in contacts still will work with calls, but when receiving text messages my phone wont recognize it was already in my contacts(as in, it will show the text is from a number instead of the name I saved in my contact list). because text message numbers come with +1######### format.

Wouldn't be so bad but it has me in there too and I am twice her size so I see me. Yes I know what's the big deal, you know who's calling, but it is aggravating that this is happening every time she calls me. I change it back to the saved picture and save her picture, then she calls and up pops her facebook profile picture.Do any of you know what I can do to fix this without removing the faceboof app?

I clicked OK and then it comes up with another message and it says Backup completed ... click OK .So is it just one theme that's odd and not being backed up? It's working great but every time I go into my contacts the screen is stuck at "Copying to Contacts" with the bar filled about 3/4 of the way. View 6 Replies View RelatedHere is my problem: if I receive an sms from someone, any other sms sent to me afterwards will appear as if they were sent from the 1st person. i.e. the contact number or name of the others will not show.thus if I also compose an sms, it will show the contact number of the 1st sms received. I can only send to another contact if I delete that 1st sms received and then compose a new one, after which the newly selected contact will show.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI just got a BlackBerry Bold 9700 from AT&T and I updated the BB Messenger to version 5.0.0.57. While I'm trying to add my friends PIN who lives in the same area as I am it's working. However, I have some friends in Thailand when I added their PIN they received my request and they did accepted it but the contact still on pending. I already try it many times it still on pending.
Moreover, during group chat my friends in Thailand can see my messages but I can't see their messages. Is there any possible explaination to this problem?
The problem I am facing is that I added my dad at BBM (he is in malaysia i'm in the UK), we can see each other's contact at bbm, but we can't communicate. I can receive his voice notes and everything. I can send him a message too, BUT with a tick next to my messages but without R or D, he claims that he didnt receive any of them.
I tried battery pull, deleting and adding contact (took a while as it takes time for the friend request to be accepted/ add to friend list) and ... googling and i ran out of ideas.
Is it a problem with my blackberry 9700 white or my dad's? or his carrier?
