I am using a BB 9700, wondering how to add another field in the Contact's list. On one contact who has more than 3 emails, i can't seem to find an option to add another email field.

does anyone know how to clear the text message field in the .442 update for the 9700. It used to be alt+delete in the older firmwares, but that doesn't seem to work anymore.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my gf a BOLD 9700. I live in Singapore and bought an officially unlocked BB. I ust bought the model only, not with a contract from any carrier.My gf uses her simcard but doesnt have a data plan. We dont intend to use the email functions.But we do want to have WIFI on my home network. Been already busy for a few days and have seen several sites and seems that a lot of people have problems with this issue.Inside my router I see there is an IP adress assiged to the blackberry and I see the mac adress of the BB. But the blackberry keeps saying Failed to obtain an IP adress.Other laptops and my IPhone connect instantly to this router.And how to contact the blackberry technical support? Or can I return the phone under warranty?Im not so familiar with blackberry's.I also tried it with my own simcard which does have a data plan with it. But the same problem exists.Already reset the router a thousand times and removed battery from the BB a dozen times..on the BB screen I also see the WiFi is connected to my home network router but the wifi logo doesnt light up.

Before I would update my Facebook contacts it but the link to the Facebook profile and updated the photo. Now it's not updating photos and putting a "0" under Facebook field in the contact.
Just upgraded to iOS 7.1.2 to see if it was a bug fixed. You can see a sample on this screenshot below.
I'm adding a new address to my address book but it won't let me enter any letters in the zip/postal code field. How do I correct this? It will accept the number keys but any letter key is disabled and doesn't do anything. I'm on the Telus network.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if anyone else has had this happen but I keep having to add a contact twice when trying to start a new SMS thread.Here's what happens.Click Messages app>menu>compose SMS.I type the name of the person and click the center button.I have to hit the OK button twice for whatever reason to make it work.This results in me sending the same message twice.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm using a blackberry torch and my provider is China Mobile. My wife uses a blackberry bold 9700 and she is in Indonesia and her provider is Indosat. Since the past few days i've not been able to send her any messages on bbm so i deleted her and when i tried to re-add her it only shows pending authorization. When i send her any PIN message it doesn't go thru and says service blocked however she can send me PIN messages. I've asked my friend in China to add her but they are also facing the same problem i do.
I don't know what to do as it is very annoying this problem has happened. We have never faced such problems before hence please advise me what to do. Just for your info her PIN is 2190FC0C.By the way, she is able to receive bbm from everywhere except from China and i'm able to send my other friends bbm in Indonesia only to her i can't send.
I own a BB bold 9700 and last night I exchanged phones with a friend, the sim and memory card was removed and then reinserted back in, when i turn on the phone, I realised that all my contacts were gone. I don't know what happened? Those that has to do with a different sim card inserted into the phone? Is it some kinda BB security lockdown software? I'm using the Celcom-Vodafone (Malaysia) package. Please help, I really need to get this working.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using the contact alerts to specify ringtones for the calls. however, i don't want to specify a rington for the messages; i just want to use teh profile default. is there anyway to do this? the problem is, if i don't select any ringtone, it sets one and uses it across txt messages & emails when i always have different ringtones for each.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen receiving a new call from a new number (with caller ID, this number is not in my contact list), I can see both the name and number displayed, if i go to Add to Contacts, only the number gets copied over, and i have to manually type in this name (came displayed thru caller ID), is there any ways to get this default name copied over every time when I add a person so I don't have to type it in? A side question, numbers broken down to ### ### #### with spaces that are saved in contacts still will work with calls, but when receiving text messages my phone wont recognize it was already in my contacts(as in, it will show the text is from a number instead of the name I saved in my contact list). because text message numbers come with +1######### format.
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy BB Bold 9700 with ATT is changing my wife contact picture I saved there to her Facebook profile picture. Yes I have the facebook app on my BB Bold 9700 with ATT. Wouldn't be so bad but it has me in there too and I am twice her size so I see me. Yes I know what's the big deal, you know who's calling, but it is aggravating that this is happening every time she calls me. I change it back to the saved picture and save her picture, then she calls and up pops her facebook profile picture.Do any of you know what I can do to fix this without removing the faceboof app?

It's working great but every time I go into my contacts the screen is stuck at "Copying to Contacts" with the bar filled about 3/4 of the way. View 2 Replies View RelatedHere is my problem: if I receive an sms from someone, any other sms sent to me afterwards will appear as if they were sent from the 1st person. i.e. the contact number or name of the others will not show.thus if I also compose an sms, it will show the contact number of the 1st sms received. I can only send to another contact if I delete that 1st sms received and then compose a new one, after which the newly selected contact will show.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI just got a BlackBerry Bold 9700 from AT&T and I updated the BB Messenger to version 5.0.0.57. While I'm trying to add my friends PIN who lives in the same area as I am it's working. However, I have some friends in Thailand when I added their PIN they received my request and they did accepted it but the contact still on pending. I already try it many times it still on pending.
Moreover, during group chat my friends in Thailand can see my messages but I can't see their messages. Is there any possible explaination to this problem?
The problem I am facing is that I added my dad at BBM (he is in malaysia i'm in the UK), we can see each other's contact at bbm, but we can't communicate. I can receive his voice notes and everything. I can send him a message too, BUT with a tick next to my messages but without R or D, he claims that he didnt receive any of them.
I tried battery pull, deleting and adding contact (took a while as it takes time for the friend request to be accepted/ add to friend list) and ... googling and i ran out of ideas.
Is it a problem with my blackberry 9700 white or my dad's? or his carrier?
This morning i got a message that my BB messenger should be updated.After the update and installation it gave a few errors (forget to make screenshots) but since then my contact list is gone.
Lateron when i logged in again it asked me to look for my ' old '' contacts. I waited a few minutes and nothing happened so i decided to reboot my BB. After that my contact list was still empty and now i dont have my friends pins saved somewhere.Anybody got an idea of how to get the old list back?

I transfered my contact list but now when a contact rings their name doesn't appear but the number only as all the numbers are prefixed with +61 (I am in Australia) whereas from the contact list the numbers all begin with a zero. (So the number dialling in doesn't match with any numbers stored in the contact list). I didn't have that problem with 8900.

I went ahead and let the phone update this morning and it took about an hour. so i just went to send a text message just now and i type the person's name in that i want to send it to and notice there are duplicate entries in my phone book! What gives?! Can someone help me out here as to getting back single contact entries? NOTE: NOT ALL CONTACTS WERE DUPLICATED. NOTE: I was currently operating on the .586 OS now i'm at the most current version .7something
View 5 Replies View RelatedRandomly a few days ago, when composing emails I noticed my address book doesn't seem to be 'looked up'i.e. when I type in the To: box, the letter A or Ada...'Adam Smith' doesn't appear in the suggested contacts. None of my contacts appear at all!
This 'lookup' functions works fine for SMS but not email emails.I've updated with the latest software already

When go into my contacts list and the first thing is the "New Contact:" space. Right under that it says "*No Contacts*" And then there are like 5 empty spaces, and only then are the contacts. When I try to save a new contact, it occupies all the empty spaces, and I would have 5 straight contacts with the same name! help!!
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy first post to a message board ever! I love my BB, but not being particularly tech savvy, I have been slow going. I have a few questions I was hoping someone could help me with.
1. I set up my personal e-mail address and have that working great. Today I set up my work e-mail address via the enterprise server. My question is can I get those work e-mails to go into a specific e-mail folder rather than the catch-all message folder (which drive me nuts and is hard to read)?
2. I thought that once I set up the enterprise system it would automatically download my work-base calendar and contacts (Microsoft office) to my phone. Is that not the case? Is there something I'm missing? Am I supposed to download the bb software to my work computer as well and sync?
3. Is there a way to get my sent e-mails to go into a sent e-mail folder for the respective e-mail accounts? Or is there a way to format the look differently?
