May 13, 2012Every time I add or edit a contact in my bb phonebook it doesn't save and it hangs. I even reset my phone to factory settings but still I can't add a contact.

May 8, 2012I have a bold 9700, software version=6.0 Bundle 2921.I recently downloaded the latest OS update (6 I'm assuming) the day it was released. I went to add a new contact to my phone book yesterday for the first time after I downloaded the update and it does nothing when I click it. I've tried right clicking and adding a new contact, just clicking on the new contact in the phone book. And nothing, if I click it enough it freezes my phone, and when I restart it throws me an exception about the phone book.I've taken out my battery/sim card and still doesn't work. Has to be a bug in the code since its throwing an exception.

Apr 13, 2012I recently tried to edit one of my phonebook contacts and the phone wouldn't let me do it. Every time I went to "edit" nothing would happen. Not the biggest problem ever, however, now my phone won't let me add new contacts. When I go to "add to contacts" nothing happens, and occasionally my phone will freeze and I have to turn it off. I have tried taking the battery out and letting the phone reboot but still nothing.

Pressing the Alpha keys doesn't do anything. Only the numbers 0 through 9 are working.Is this an option? I can't seem to find where to turn this on.

Sep 7, 2010I was using WM for many years, but now the BB9700 is my choice.I have several contacts from different countries in my phonebook, therefore characters like čřžýá and others are common in my phonebook. When I push the Voice dialing button, there will appear "Scanning Contacts, please wait...", it will go till 26% and then it just exits and no voice dialing occurs. When I remove all my contacts and I will create a new contact, the voice dialing works well.The solution to remove all my contacts which contains special characters is not acceptable (I have over 600 contacts).

Apr 30, 2010I bought my gf a BOLD 9700. I live in Singapore and bought an officially unlocked BB. I ust bought the model only, not with a contract from any carrier.My gf uses her simcard but doesnt have a data plan. We dont intend to use the email functions.But we do want to have WIFI on my home network. Been already busy for a few days and have seen several sites and seems that a lot of people have problems with this issue.Inside my router I see there is an IP adress assiged to the blackberry and I see the mac adress of the BB. But the blackberry keeps saying Failed to obtain an IP adress.Other laptops and my IPhone connect instantly to this router.And how to contact the blackberry technical support? Or can I return the phone under warranty?Im not so familiar with blackberry's.I also tried it with my own simcard which does have a data plan with it. But the same problem exists.Already reset the router a thousand times and removed battery from the BB a dozen times..on the BB screen I also see the WiFi is connected to my home network router but the wifi logo doesnt light up.

Jan 31, 2010I am brand new to Blackberry and am trying to edit my address book. All the telephone numbers from my old Mobile Phone have been imported to my Bold, but its labeling them all as Work contacts, which isnt true.
How can I manipulate these numbers easily on my Mac computer? I downloaded Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac and have backed up the contacts (as a bbb file, I think). But still finding it difficult to actually see the phone numbers and manipulate them on my computer.

Jan 4, 2012i'm using a blackberry torch and my provider is China Mobile. My wife uses a blackberry bold 9700 and she is in Indonesia and her provider is Indosat. Since the past few days i've not been able to send her any messages on bbm so i deleted her and when i tried to re-add her it only shows pending authorization. When i send her any PIN message it doesn't go thru and says service blocked however she can send me PIN messages. I've asked my friend in China to add her but they are also facing the same problem i do.
I don't know what to do as it is very annoying this problem has happened. We have never faced such problems before hence please advise me what to do. Just for your info her PIN is 2190FC0C.By the way, she is able to receive bbm from everywhere except from China and i'm able to send my other friends bbm in Indonesia only to her i can't send.

May 2, 2010I own a BB bold 9700 and last night I exchanged phones with a friend, the sim and memory card was removed and then reinserted back in, when i turn on the phone, I realised that all my contacts were gone. I don't know what happened? Those that has to do with a different sim card inserted into the phone? Is it some kinda BB security lockdown software? I'm using the Celcom-Vodafone (Malaysia) package. Please help, I really need to get this working.

Mar 27, 2010When receiving a new call from a new number (with caller ID, this number is not in my contact list), I can see both the name and number displayed, if i go to Add to Contacts, only the number gets copied over, and i have to manually type in this name (came displayed thru caller ID), is there any ways to get this default name copied over every time when I add a person so I don't have to type it in? A side question, numbers broken down to ### ### #### with spaces that are saved in contacts still will work with calls, but when receiving text messages my phone wont recognize it was already in my contacts(as in, it will show the text is from a number instead of the name I saved in my contact list). because text message numbers come with +1######### format.

Wouldn't be so bad but it has me in there too and I am twice her size so I see me. Yes I know what's the big deal, you know who's calling, but it is aggravating that this is happening every time she calls me.
