when I turn on the screen on my g3 after a few seconds the screen dims ever so slightly and is noticeable , the percentage on the brightness scale stays at the 75% tho , its set to 75% all the time , not using auto brightness , unrooted using Nova launcher .

When I hold the power button and the "Slide to power off" appears, I'm able to slide right and power it off. After is starts up, the problem does not occur for a few days and then raises up again. It used to only rear its ugly head in landscape mode on my phone; now it auto dims (yes, with auto dimming turned off in my options) regardless of screen position or time of day outside. Majority of people never notice it but I'd say 5% of people have issues caused by it (headache, migraines, seizures, etc.) Kind of like the CRT flicker but in modern LED backlit devices.
To test use a high end camera/DSLR with adjustable shutter speed and look for black lines on the phone screen when adjusting the camera's shutter speed.

So, I just bought a JB'en iphone 3g tonight.Went ahead and unlocked it using ultrasn0w.Connected it to my mac/itunes, and it asks "an iphone has been previously synced with this computer. setup as a new iphone -or- restore the backup of ***"So, since I had purchased apps using my *** phone (actually was an ipod touch that i got rid of), I'm thinking that I should restore the backup so that I can get my paid apps back for free.
Questions:
-will restoring this backup to the new unlocked phone restore it to its original locked state (i.e. will i have to re-jailbreak/unlock)? or will it simply restore preferences, etc...?
-otherwise, if i call this phone a new name, is there a way to transfer my purchased apps to the new phone's account?

Then i tried to open a video from gallery app - same thing. The screen is dimming, but nothing else is happening. View 5 Replies View RelatedI just updated to 442 and everything else seems fine except for the fact that when on a call, as soon as the backlight times out, it mutes the mic and the party on the other end cannot hear me. Clicking the trackball "unmutes" the phone until the backlight times out again. This happens whether I'm on speakerphone or not.
I posted this in the actual OS thread as well but figured someone in here may read this and know of a solution.
I've done quite a few battery pulls hoping this would resolve the issue but it hasn't.
The nice thing about upgrading from 296 to this is when you are on a call and the backlight times out, the screen and everything but the 4 buttons on the trackpad row go dim. So if its dark you can still find these 4 buttons rather easily. I just wish I could figure out this mute issue.
Basically my phone slowly started turning off(no shutdown just straight off) after long periods in the car using the SatNav even when it still had over 40% power on the battery.
Eventually the other day it just started turning off every time I tried to open maps (whilst lost in some random suburb!)
And now if the phone is plugged on charge I can do whatever I want with it, as soon as I take it off charge it will stay on until I unlock the screen and try to do anything (swipe or open an app.) Immediately I though the battery was to blame but why would it stay on until I did something?
Now the stranger part, if I start my music, start the satnav etc whilst its plugged in then unplug it, as long as I don't unlock or do anything on the screen the phone will continue to work. I can even start and stop music, skip tracks from the lock screen, even unlock and lock it again, as soon as I try to load an app, boom it just goes black, not even a shut down, just straight to black.

I noticed that sometimes (actually, somewhat frequently) the animation to open the app drawer is a little choppy and laggy. And then the actual app drawer (swiping left and right) also has slightly choppy animation as it moves from each page of apps.
This goes away if you press home, and then return back to the app drawer.
I say it's slight, but it is very noticeable. This does not happen with all of my music, but it is very annoying non the less. It ruins the whole listening experience.

While it was being unlocked, the phone got some error for some unknown reason and now whenever I start my phone, all it says is ' phone start-up failed, contact the retailer' the repairer says the phone's IMEI is damaged which I have confirmed from various repair shops and would need some RPL file (which I haven't got any idea about) and since Nokia servers are down its not possible right now, he tells me to wait for a bit before the servers are up on the run again. I have no idea if its even true. All I want to know is Can My Phone really be Repaired? And if Yes whats the Criteria for doing so? And if i take my phone to Nokia repair shop. I am afraid they would not fix it since they haven't got a license to unlock branded phones.

It's not terrible but definitely noticeable. I have seen other videos shot with this phone on youtube and they look perfect and professional. Much more clear and colorful and flowing smoothly. get mine looking like 4k should such as certain apps or settings?
