Google Nexus 6 :: 4k Video Recording Laggy And Slightly Blurry
Jul 22, 2015
Ive bad the Nexus 6 since the day it came out but just now got into the 4k video recording and i shot a few videos in 4k and when playing them back, the videos are choppy, laggy and auto focuses many times (does not look as good as 4k should). It's not terrible but definitely noticeable. I have seen other videos shot with this phone on youtube and they look perfect and professional. Much more clear and colorful and flowing smoothly. get mine looking like 4k should such as certain apps or settings? I'm having a kid soon and want to use my phone for recording instead of a camcorder.
I recently got the Nexus 6 and shot a few videos in 4k and when playing them back, the videos are choppy, laggy. It's not terrible but definitely noticeable. I have seen other videos shot with this phone and they look perfect and professional.
I noticed that sometimes (actually, somewhat frequently) the animation to open the app drawer is a little choppy and laggy. And then the actual app drawer (swiping left and right) also has slightly choppy animation as it moves from each page of apps.
This goes away if you press home, and then return back to the app drawer.
Am I the only one having trouble with Nokia camera. Even with the living images turned off the picture comes out blurry slightly. I now have to use the bing camera. Using a 1520 in England on WP 8.1 with cyan. Since cyan I noticed the camera is like this
both my two Nexus 5s are affected (India - D821 Models) and one of them is pretty bad and consistent with blurry images. Running stock..Tried factory reset, clean install from factory images, cache clearing, third party apps, safe mode to no avail. This is pretty disappointing. Visited the LG service center a couple of times, they advised to change the rear camera cover which I did but the results are the same. I have read changing the camera also has not given any luck, so havent tried that yet..but what surprises me that two devices (similar age circa 24 months) have been affected at the same time, so I am thinking its more an issue with software but not hardware. Or is the hardware failure programmed for 24 months or something..?? I am trying Kitkat on one of the camera's now, so will post the result.
One thing I am certain is that recently the battery for both phones has been changed and I positively think the issue has been noticed afterwards..any clues?
So when I record a video, there is a noise every time the video auto focuses. I am hoping this is a software issue since I do not hear the same noise in other videos I recorded pre 6.0.1.
First video was recorded in 120fps. And you can hear a ticking sound. Now, I did not record any 120fps before 6.0.1 so not sure if this happened before the update. .....
Second video, you can hear the sound of the lens focusing. ....
Having issues with video recording and the brightness fluctuating while recording? While I'm recording a video, it's like the iso rapidly changes making the video go bright then dim very rapidly.
I've noticed that 4K video recording seems to be capped at approximately 8 minutes. I've had 2 separate videos stop recording at this time. Is there a way to bypass it? I have plenty of space on my 64GB 6P, so it'd be great to take advantage of all that space. Is is a processor or heat related issue?
I dont have my phone just yet, but i've played with one recently. and i noticed when trying to compare it with my galaxy s5 that when i was recording video at night there was display lag. What i mean is i'd pan the camera left and the screen was a half second behind it. I've experienced this before with older phones usually from the shutter speed i believe? but when samsung somehow did away with it (at least with my s5) I was unexpectant to see it again.
Prior to owning the Nexus 5, I remember always having an option to attach video, picture, or voice memos straight from the text message app.. is there a way to do this with Hangouts.
I recently found Boldbeast for recording calls through the normal phone dialer, but I can't find anything that will record calls placed or received through the Hangouts Dialer.
So I'm on a stock 5.1.1 and updated to the latest Google Photos version, which I think screws with my devices HW acceleration. Basically , after updating I can't watch any HD videos without the frames stuttering, the screen sometimes blacks out in middle of viewing videos as well. Searching around I found that more people experience this, but it isn't that widespread. The problem goes away if I revert the update.
I don't remember this being an issue with any phone prior. I've had a video on here since Friday. Just a 30 second clip of my daughter riding a carousel at the mall. I can't get it to backup. I've set it to mobile and wifi, I've set it to wifi only, I've tried forcing the backup. Nothing. The pics have backed up just fine. But not this one video.
reduce the audio recording level for video shoots?Cause if its just a little loud, the whole soundtrack gets distorted.Another nice one would be if we could get the noise cancellation mic thats next to the headphone plug to record a second audio track, making it stereo..
After ICS update (4.0.4) on Xperia Pro my recorded video turns out laggy and skips. Things I've tried: Factory Reset on the phone Repair using Update service. I can disable video stabilization which reduces the lags and skips a bit, but it is still noticeable and does qualify as a workaround because the issue still persists and I would like stabilization. My LED only lights up when I connect the micro USB cable, is this normal? (I just got my phone and instantly upgraded to ICS so I don't know what it's supposed to do.)
I am just wondering if I have bad phone or it is fine? My phone starts lagging after few minutes of use (when it gets warmer). It is not bad, but everything is launching slower and I see more FPS drops in animations..
I have a Nexus 6 running 6.0.1 now, and am subscribed to Google Music, Red, and all that comes with it.
My issue is, after the App & OS updated, my saved offline videos have just recently gone into playing the next video automatically. So for instance, if I want to fall asleep at night watching a single 45 minute video, the whole darn list will play, and sooner or later, it gets to that head banging music video, and I wake up.
Have a problem with audio sounds no working? I.e videos, games.... How to fix this. It's happened to me before. I've restarted the phone multiple times, and still not sound.
Got the new Nexus 5 and found that flash video playing is totally incompatible with the Android 4.4 Kitkat, no t in Dolphin, not in Firefox and other browsers. This is too bad and I can't imagine it just happened.
I digged into the code since then and found that some critical APIs have been removed from Android 4.4 that flash uses.

After several days of coding, I finally found a way out with a hacked flash player. Being so excited and i can't wait wo share it. Here is the guide about how to install the hacked one and how to play flash content in the sites in Dolphin Browser.
1) Download Dolphin Browser
Surprised, Dolphin just push a 10.2.0 update version to me and I found Dolphin Jetpack was built-in. This means you don't have to install 2 separate APK now.
Here is the Download Link: .....
Warning: You must have Dolphin Jetpack on in the settings to enjoy it. As far as I have noticed, Dolphin Jetpack better solves the compatibility with flash player, such as crash issue & freeze issue in full screen.
2) Download the hacked flash player HERE
Warning: Make sure that you have uninstall the flash player installed in your device and then install the hacked one for compatibility reason.
If your devices refused to install apk outside Google Play, you may set in your device (Settings> Securities> Unknown resources) to allow installation of apps from unknown sources.
3) Make sure that the flash setting in Dolphin Browser (Click Menu>Settings>Web Content>Flash Player) is on.
Flash Player is not officially supported and therefore the speed of loading of flash video may be slow. However, I have tried many sites such as YouTube and Hulu. They all work properly with satisfactory results.
I have installed super beam to my nexus 5 mobile . Earlier I was using superbeam to send video files but now am facing an issue sending video files since super beam is crashing after clicked send button.
On my G3 I had the option of trimming videos which I had recorded. I can't remember if I ever had this functionality on my N5 (kitkat), but on my new N6 there's no such option. The edit option in the Photos app doesn't do anything with videos. Is this the same for everyone, and if so, what are you using to trim video footage.
I use my S3 a lot to take videos then play them on our TV. Is it possible with the Nexus 6? I am thinking about upgrading, and being able to play youtube and recorded videos on the big screen would make my decision a lot easier.
I'm not able to free up photo/video storage on my device - Nexus 5 running 5.1. I've deleted all photos and videos off the device itself. When I check "storage", I still see 1.7GB of storage being used under "Pictures, videos". When I click on "Pictures, Videos" in storage, there are no files. When I look in the "photos" app, again there are no files under "on device". The trash has been emptied. I rebooted the phone. No luck. Auto back-up is on, but as I stated, none of the photos are stored locally at this point. How do I free up this mysterious use of space?
