I have just upgraded my phone and got a blackberry 8520. i have been trying to work out if you can make the keyboard light up when you are writing a message. does anyone know if you can do this and how you do it?
View 7 RepliesI have chosen English for the main language and Greek for typing language,but I cannot read sent or received SMS although they are sent and read properly by the recipients.When I turn typung language into English I can read the messages but still with problems...in that case I have to change language each time i m writing a message.That seems to be a problem.Does anybody knows anything about that?

As it currently stands, when the backlight times out it won't turn back on until I phsyically Press a button. I'd like for it to light up when something is received. I looked in the backlight options but didn't see anything.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry curve 8520 keyboard is unresponsive. I have done several hard resets removing the battery sim card and memory card. Once I put all of the components back in the phone it restarts and brings me to the screen to enter my keyboard password. When I press the keys none of them respond and the screen stays blank and eventually dims away. NO keys word and the scroll pad will only scroll but not select. I am in dire need of a solution-
View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday I purchased my new BB Curve 8520. I was so happy with it until, I ran some new app and it completly froze. I pulled the battery out. Put it back, turned it on and no results. None of my keys are working. If I press alt or shifts it shows on the right upper corner of the screen that they are being activated, but nothing else happens. I've been trying for hours. I tried the old Alt+shift+Del, I took the sim out, the memory card. I left the phone without battery for an hour but no use. And also my speaker icon shows star insted of curves and my Antenna isn't working either.

This is the 1st BB I have owned.. my issue: I upgraded to the new software version 5.0.0.508 and now I suddenly have lost the keyboard/pad lock function. Where did it go?? And how do I get it back?? This phone travels in my pocket, I don't need accidental dials.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently took charge of a Blackberry Curve 8520 - I noticed that after I had linked it to my PC via Blackberry Desktop Manager, the icon for the keyboard lock was removed from the menu. I've looked in the obvious places in Options to try and re-instate the icon but can't seem to see anywhere which allow me to do ths. I've also searched for hidden items but nothing seems to be hidden.

When i go to Keyboard settings and "Use my writing style", under "My Words" there are none! And I've typed them many times. Tried "Learn from Gmail" and "Learn from Messaging" still none. When typing word by word and also gesture typing, none of my words come up. Why is that happening? I've tried to clear data from Xperia Keyboard app an set it up again, but no luck.

The SMS messages from the same cell phone or source are all grouped together as though they are one thread. This makes them impossible to read and organize since they are not threads in my case. How can I make each SMS message have its own entry in the message list regardless of origin?

Ussually, when I got notification about someone messaging me on FB, if i click on the notification item, it'll take me to the FB message screen where I can reply the message right away. View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm not onto my second BB8520 and this on T-mobile UK contract. Everything is fab, however, BB Messenger constantly displays 1 new message icon...There definitely isn't. Tried hard reset 4 times with no luck. Been like this for 4 days and it really irritating plus with the red notification light flashing all the time it can't be doing my battery much good either!
Is anyone else having the same problem? And how can I solve this? I really don't want to have to either wipe my phone or remove BBM!

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy keyboard backlight has a mind of its own. This is not a short, or electrical problem. It just works when it wants to. Sometimes it won't come on. Sometimes it lights up and works fine. Sometimes it fades off while I am typing. Sometimes it just illuminates while sitting on the table. I use my Tour in lowlight conditions all the time. I simply want it to come on when I touch a key and go off a bit after I am done handling it. Of course I navigated all the settings and stuff. I know all that. I have all the setting and options for the keyboard backlight set the way I want. This feels like a software or programming glitch. It never flickers or acts like a short. It slowly fades in and out as it would if I touched a key, or left it sit alone. Everything else works perfectly. I just want the keyboard backlight to come on when touched. And go off after several seconds of inactivity.

Currently, the Z3 is reaching rock bottom because when I'm trying to unlock the Z3 the touch screen works bad and it's difficult to get in!!!!!
I just bought a blackberry Curve, 8530.I had my email set up at the store and even got my blackberry registration email.However, I go to compose an email, and my phone tells me that "no message services are configured".That would be fine, if my email was not already set up, according to my blackberry.I tried going through the whole process again, and then it tells me that my email is already set up.But, it says I can only save a draft, not send, when I'm done. I owned a pearl before this, but never used many of the features. I would like to be able to use more of them on this phone.I am a bit of an electrical gimp.
