View 1 RepliesTried searching Nokia's website, but website just hangs. Tried calling the support number, but number just disconnects. Tried sending online email, but doesn't go anywhere. Tried reading my phone's literature, but no joy there either, as it doesn't address the 2 questions I have. Don't really no what's going on with Nokia, so this support discussion is my last resort. Just bought E63. And I have a couple of questions. How to check firmware version? And if firmware version is out of date, how to update? How to get keyboard backlight to turn on?

Is that too much to ask?
Wait I know how I could fix this...ROOT! Why must you also deny us root?
I have just upgraded my phone and got a blackberry 8520. i have been trying to work out if you can make the keyboard light up when you are writing a message. does anyone know if you can do this and how you do it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy keyboard backlight has a mind of its own. This is not a short, or electrical problem. It just works when it wants to. Sometimes it won't come on. Sometimes it lights up and works fine. Sometimes it fades off while I am typing. Sometimes it just illuminates while sitting on the table. I use my Tour in lowlight conditions all the time. I simply want it to come on when I touch a key and go off a bit after I am done handling it. Of course I navigated all the settings and stuff. I know all that. I have all the setting and options for the keyboard backlight set the way I want. This feels like a software or programming glitch. It never flickers or acts like a short. It slowly fades in and out as it would if I touched a key, or left it sit alone. Everything else works perfectly. I just want the keyboard backlight to come on when touched. And go off after several seconds of inactivity.
View 6 Replies View Relatedthe querty keyboard backlight on my x10 mini pro keeps turning off in the dark or bad light. I can manage to keep the backlight on, while I am trying to type without it cutting out after about 2 seconds. Sometimes it won't even turn back on even after pressing a key.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI read ebooks voraciously, it's very useful when in bed with the other half and he's trying to sleep, not to need a bedside light on.My problem occurs when using an ebook reader (currently Mobipocket - though please do enlighten me if you know of one better which will easily take books from the file offerings of the Gutenberg Project):
The keypad remains bright, much brighter than the screen (especially as I set the background to black and the text to mid-grey).I'd love to be able to toggle off the keypad backlight somehow.I've found a sort-of workaround, where I go to the Clock and set Bedside Mode, then switch application back to Mobipocket - the screen dims and the keyboard turns off...
BUT only until I use the optical pad to swipe to the next page, and the keypad lights come back on and blind me. They do fade out again but by this time I'm halfway down the new page and about to swipe again!Anyone? Keyboard backlight toggle? Is such a thing ever going to be possible or is this a well-flogged long-dead horse?
Is there any way to turn off this ugly keyboard backlight on my Vivaz pro? Or just fade it down, it doesn't have to shine so bright! + drains the battery, please put a on and off switch for the keyboard backlight in the next update, I have already turned off my 3g because my battery doesn't even last 1 day. And one more thing, I think it should be possible to chose if u want the display to auto rotate or just stay in landscape mode all the time. And also, is it possible to make the standard Symbian home screen in landscape mode?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy 5800 has been working fine for about 8 months now, recently it has been cutting out randomly. Last night it locked then froze, I turned it on and off and now it works fine but the backlight never turns off so it is constantly bright. Very annoying because it is draining the battery, and I never know when I have got a message or anything because all the button lights are always on too.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought Nokia C3-00, I am having a problem with WLAN, when I connect and start browsing, the phone goes off. I complained here this is the reply I got:
It may be worth your while to perform a soft reset on youre device. You can do this by entering *#7780# into your phone's keypad and when promted, enter 12345.
This will not delete data from your device. But after I tried this, the problem is still there. and now while I'm charging the battery, the backlight is on and won't do power saving. It takes very long for the battery to charge.
I think I have had this issue since I upgraded to os 5 .411. What happens is while my screen's black or even in standby, the backlight goes on by itself for a few seconds. This interrupts even auto standby. My uncles 8900 didn't have this issue till yesterday when I upgr his bb to os 5 as well. I'm forced to turn my bb upside down at nighttime.

View 2 Replies View Related I've a problem with my new sony product, I was in swimming pool after taking some photos the phone stop working, and the screen blinking and can not boot up the phone, after checking it I notice that there is some water in the back camera cover. So i waited about 5 hours and tried to recharge it, then trying to boot it I heard the startup sound with no data on the screen!I noticed that the screen/touch working but there's no back-light!
then I shuttled it down and wait again, after booting the screen has no data and the startup sound works, ( Also there is no vibration anymore! )
I tried to use the small off button but no way! I've also upgraded it via PC Companion but still have the same issue!!I don't know what to do the phone is new...
To conserve battery should this be checked? I've heard that if you check the box it runs your battery down quicker.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my SGS5 for a month now - great phone.
But suddenly today the backlight went out, i pulled the battery, waited a couple of minutes, reinserted it and turned the phone back on.
I can barely see the Samsung logo, it looks like the screen is set to 1% brightness (as close to complete dark as it will go). I hear the boot sound, but it's just to dark/black to do anything from here.
Is my device faulty? I cant enter recovery mode because it's nearly pitch black.
My sister has an S5 and got it wet. She thought it was dead but turns out the backlight only works now when it is turned all the way up. The issue with thar is that max brightness drains the battery quite well. Any way of fixing the backlight? I tried Lux auto brightness and that just turned the brightness down, which made the light turn off as it does when adjusted manually.
