View 2 RepliesThe backlight will not turn off at all, even when i try to lock the keyboard it comes back on. I have a curve 9320.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there an app (Free, GPL, or otherwise) that will allow me to dim the backlight even lower than the BB OS allows by default? I'm currently running v5.0.0.1728.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI think I have had this issue since I upgraded to os 5 .411. What happens is while my screen's black or even in standby, the backlight goes on by itself for a few seconds. This interrupts even auto standby. My uncles 8900 didn't have this issue till yesterday when I upgr his bb to os 5 as well. I'm forced to turn my bb upside down at nighttime.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a brand new blackberry curve 8900 and i've noticed that the keyboard backlight won't come on. I've read its supposed to detect dim light and turn on, on its own but I can be in a pitch black room and it wont turn on. Also i read that if you cover the led indicator light it should come on, tried that and it didn't work. I also went to the keypad and display settings and turned diming off and pretty much no matter what I do I can't get the backlight to turn on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI dropped my Blackberry Curve 8530 back around Christmas 2010, and the trackpad stopped working. I could click on things, but I couldn't select other things. I took the battery out and let it sit for a few hours, and when I started back up, it was fine, and I haven't had any problems since. Today I was using my phone, and I noticed that the trackpad had started acting up again. I could open my very first app on my homescreen, but I couldn't scroll up or down or to the left or right. So I pulled out the battery, left it out for a bit, and now the screen seems to be broken. At first I thought my phone wouldn't even turn on, but I can see that it's turned on, there's just no backlight. The LED light doesn't work, so really, I can't do anything on my phone but dial out and receive calls. The screen looks black since the light doesn't seem to be working. I plan on replacing the LCD screen first to see if that helps, since it's cheaper than buying a new blackberry. If I replace the LCD, will that fix the lighting, or not?

my backlight timeout is set for 30 seconds. when i am watching a song or anything on media player, backlight doesn’t go off after 30 seconds, which is obviously normal.
however when i am watching a video on Internet using bolt browser, the screen goes black after 30 seconds. it should not!
My screen backlight will not turn off unless I put the phone in a holster or cover. I've tried all the settings and nothing works.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe only way to turn on the keypad is in the TEST of Hardware, if you go to the Next Step it turns off again. What I did was Turning on the Backlight Keypad in Test and then pressed CHANGE APLICATION (Something Like that I have it in Spanish) and then the Lights Keep up all the time. But if I go to the Music Player and I use "MUTE KEY" the Backlight Keypad turns off. (ONLY WHEN I PRESS MUTE ON THE MUSIC PLAYER)
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry has been doing great for a year, but 2 weeks, I would fully charge it all night, and then it would shut off after about 2 hours, even if I didn't use it and I would have to put it in the charger for it to work again. Now, it's shutting off after Fifteen Minutes of using it, and when I put it in the charger and it goes through the whole 3 minute restart, the battery says it's full, and again keeps closing after 15 minutes. I haven't download any new apps or anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my OS on my curve 8520 and now i hear static when talking with someone for a few minutes and thte screen goes white. I have to take out the battery and plug it in to turn it back on or it stays stuck on the white screen and is non-responsive. I like the new features on the upgrade but I think it is what is draining my battery not even sure if it is the battery. I used to hear beeps when the batter would die and the battery indicator would start to show in red. Since the upgrade again I hear static and the phone goes white. What can I do to fix this. I can't operate like this it is dangerous and I travel alot.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy BB curve has recently started making a very loud static sound every 5 minutes (when not in use). I have removed all podcast apps and followed other advice on various posts and it has not made a difference. I think I have the most recent OS (6) not sure when it updated and perhaps that is the problem. Also this is not an audible thing meaning adjusting the volume and putting the phone on mute makes no difference. My carrier is Verizon. Really sounds like someone is trying to connect via old school sprint direct connect, every five minutes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my Curve 9330 in Oct 2010, it started freezing about 4 months ago, once every few weeks, over time it has gotten worse, so now it freezes every few minutes. Some freezes are "screen shots" where the time is off by a few minutes like its been frozen about 7 or 8 min and the cursor won't move, and some are freezes with the timer like its waiting on something. It takes me about 30 min to do something (text, email, facebook, anything) that should be a quick 2-3 min check. I have taken the battery out and that works for about an hour, then it goes back to freezing. I have done shift+alt+del to reset and that works for about an hour. I updated my OS, it stopped for about 3 or 4 days then started back up. I have checked to Application free space, there's 158.6MB. I do use my phone a lot, mostly quick check of things throughout the day.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been getting multiple repeat texts on my Blackberry Curve 8530. For instance, I will get as many as five or six copies of the exact same message within a few minutes of each other. The people who are texting me are only sending the message once, so I assumed the problem was on my end. I reset the phone about three times per week, but the problem does not improve or get worse. I have even pulled the battery after it happens, but it continues after it reboots.

My Blackberry curve 9380 (which I've had for 3 weeks) keeps crashing all the time, the loading square thingie appears and then it's stuck. After a while it even gives an error message. I tried pushing buttons, but the only solution so far is taking out the battery and re-installing it. Then restart the phone (which normally takes 4 seconds but when it has crashed it takes 5 minutes...) I've installed the latest blackberry software, so that can't be it...
